Plant is growing fast. Top leaves and stems are growing darker and purple after new lamp and nutrients were added a week ago

Swapped the plants this week as I realized I could use the 200w light to cover both the smaller plant and the lower canopy of the larger one more effectively. Hopefully this will allow sufficient light to cover more of the plants, as the lower canopy of the larger plant was 30 inches from the light! Now since I can lower the bigger light to accommodate the shorter plant, I can cover the left side of the bigger one, lowering the light to 23 inches, which is definitely better. The buds don't seem to be filling in quite as quickly this time but they are definitely making progress! I am guessing about another month, but who knows? I'm going to let them take their time and let me know when they're ready. Other than that was a pretty uneventful week, as I'm kind of coming into the final stretch I have stopped the lst and only trim the leaves that are blocking bud sites. They definitely appear more stressed than they have been, with a lot of bright purple stems connected to the leaves, but to me they look healthy enough to make it to the finish line!

F44 - Watered all three plants with about 1/2 gallon each of rainwater. F42 - Reba I think is maintaining at this point. I removed some of the larger fan leaves from Reba and Jack. Soil is still moist on all three plants top and bottom. Wooo, kinky. Uploaded pics.

Fo' Twenny here back with another update! I will be updating and uploading more photos through out the week. I hope you'll ride along and give me a follow! The deets: Feeding with .2 ml/gal of RapidStart and .2 ml/gal of SuperThrive, Adjusted pH to 6.5 and then add .25 tsp of recharge. 8/16 - 8 days post sow. All but 2 seeds have sprouted. I was especially concerned for the Melon Gum because I only had a 2 pack and both beans were quite pale. I gently dug around in the peat pellets and found the bean with a fresh, healthy tap root! I expect she should be popping up by tomorrow evening. The other bean yet to pop is the Jenny Kush. I was gifted 5 Jenny Kush seeds, and I will wait until tomorrow to see if she sprouts a tap root before popping another one. Hopefully, I will have more luck with the next one. Successful germination in 16 of 17 photoperiod seeds. With a total of 19 of 20 if you include the 3 autoflowering cultivars running along side. They're being documented in separate diaries and will stay in the veg tent when the photoperiods are moved into the bloom room. Go check 'em out! 8/20 Update: Melon Gum has sprouted. If you're not following my Zkittlez Auto diary, you missed that I almost killed this girl on accident. Graceful me, knocked over her solo cup and she got stuck to a sticky trap. Her stem split in half and I put a piece fabric medical tape to mend her and she is actually growing and doing well regardless of her injuries. All the girls, except Jenny have sprouted and are developing. I planted a new Jenny seed 8/18 and left the original in too, just in case. This phenotype #4 was removed from the grow tent after 2 weeks of veg due to a deficiency I'd never seen before. From what I've researched, it could be sulfur; it didn't seem to be a disease, but it produced excessive resin.

Early flowering has started

My good friend convinced me that trimming and training are paramount, so I've started with slowly defoliating the Creme de la Chems to try and get to lollipop status. They're just starting to flower, so I figured I could get away with a more aggressive approach. Because I failed to train these girls early, I'm stuck dealing with a little rain forest. What I've tried to do is trace each flower topped stalk up from the base, and trim away from the bottom up. 1/3 of the way up per day. I've now got a thick canopy, and I've been trying to just use leaf tucking and manual manipulation every few hours in order to keep the different height flowering sites in direct light. These ladies have really been thriving, and it's been such a joy to watch them grow! I like having two plants in one net pot letting them grow wild, but I think in my next grow I'll keep it to one per pot and train better from the start. As for the Super Orange Haze ... not as good. I attempted to pull the main branch over to train her to some empty space, but I was too aggressive and ended up popping her head off :(. First grow, first disaster. I took the head and stripped her/coated in clonex and pushed her into some potting soil just to see what would happen. There hasn't been enough foliage to really make me want to do any trimming, I've just tried to tie the stalks off to train them apart. I'm really sad about my mistake decapitation, but she seems to be doing well still. She's probably week 2 of flower based on others' journals. I changed the water midway through the week (which is when the videos were taken). I drained most of the water out, but roots prevented me from getting the last few gallons. When I refilled the res with RO, I measured the PPM at around 200. I have to assume that remaining nutrient was completely unbalanced leftovers, so feeding will have to just have to be experimental. My approach has been to give around 1:1 Gro vs Bloom and Micro every 2-3 days when I refill with RO. I want to build my PPM up to 1000, but slowly so that I can detect if I hit a ceiling first. It's hard to measure how much food is in the water based on PPM. CalMag is what drives it mostly, so I've been using CalMag as a sort of measuring stick. I keep the CalMag pegged to the Bloom food, but I know it's only good for initial dosing. I can't assume the plants are eating CalMag in the same proportion as anything else :(. If anyone has a line on cheap lab testing ... hit me up. I'd love to be able to test a few hundred samples at a time for NPK and trace so that I can tell (even if post facto) what was going on.

well this little girl has just started pre flower so she should be in full flower by this time next week. Hopefully she gets some fast growth before the flowering begins.

Not there yet checking trichomes starting this week. Probably have 2-3 weeks left. The strawberry pie continues to outshine the other strains. Gorilla glue is a close second with nice dense buds but not as many trichomes. The grapefruit may be a late maturing plant it seems like it’s starting to stack up but has a long way to go I’m guessing 4-5 weeks so not so impressed with the grapefruit for an auto. The grapefruit is acting more like a photo as you can see in the pictures the tallest plants are grapefruit. Only time will tell but I like autos for there fast turn around time if I wanted a plant that takes 12-14 weeks I would get photos and get bigger yields.

Everything is going great except the RQS is twice the size of the the Cherry Cola lol. Ended up setting the one plant up and raising the light some.
