Today i flip the light. 12/12 for the bloom. The bright appearance of the leaves and the slightly reddened stems indicate a nutrient deficit. In this case I would say nitrogen. But I have exaggerated a bit with my fertilizer use. Accordingly, I flushed the plants today. The measured pH was 4.8. I think I slightly salted the floor. Let's see if they recover. Day 73: On the detail photo you can see very well how the stem turns slightly reddish and the stems on the leaves as well. Day 74: The plants look better than a few days ago. They are now growing visibly from day to day. Timely flushing saved a lot, I hope. Day 77: Last day of the first week of flower. It was a strange week. But they still grow.

So week 8 has gone by like the others nice and easy although I cant help but think that she is well behind where she should be, on the packet it says 11 weeks to harvest but I cant see her packing on enough bud in 3 weeks to be ready for the chop... im in no rush to chop her down but cant help feel a bit anxious that I have gone wrong somewhere... On day 1 I transplanted 2 BB clones into 3 gal smart pots with coco coir. I watered them in with veg formula and set up my blumat watering system with week 1 flower nutes. I raised PPFD to 600-700. On day 2 the reservoirs PH was adjusted from 6.4 to 6.0. The rez is 823 ppm. The tops are 16.5" from the grow light. The blumats have not started watering yet and I will monitor to ensure it goes smoothly. I have the blumats set at 1.25 carrots on left plant and 1 carrot on right plant. The average PPFD of my 16 tops is 703 PPFD. I increased temps to 85 day 81 night to get leaf surface around 80 f during day. On day 3 the reservoirs PH is 6.2. The rez is 782 ppm. The blumats have started watering and I will monitor closely over the next few days. On day 4 the reservoirs PH was adjusted from 6.3 to 6.1. The rez is 717ppm. On day 5 the reservoirs PH is steady at 6.1. The rez is 706 ppm. The highest top is 15.25" from the light. I defoliated to bring in more air and light to deeper into the canopy. I increased the flow rate of blumat by .5 carrot on the right plant as it was a little to dry for my liking. The Clones are preforming well. On day 6 the reservoir PH is going down so I adjusted up from 6.0 to 6.2. The rez is 730 ppm. The highest cola is 14.75" from the light. The left plant had a runaway so I reduced blumat by 1 carrot. I increased flow of blumat on right plant by .5 carrot as it is still drier than I would like. On day 7 the reservoirs PH was adjusted from 6.3 to 6.0. The highest cola is 14.25". I reset rez with nutes.

This week I harvested these two Quebec Black Bud, it was really a great experience. Its unique appearance and these colors charm us from start to finish. Calm in vegetation but surprises us in flowering. I can't wait to see the final product 😇 Harvest : Pheno #1 day 56 flowering 119 total Pheno #2 day 60 flowering 123 total Training : They have received my hand manipulation since day 8 and this every day to force them to grow bigger and stronger until the addition of the scrog. I started my base again on a manifold. For now I'm having fun like that, let's see later 😁 I'll leave you with these beautiful photos and come back to you later. After drying and curing I realize how the color is an intense purple almost black, The genetics are not called Quebec black bud for nothing. the buds are really compact, I know that with the auto pot system I give myself a chance that they will be denser but I believe that hard training leaves its mark.

Week 8 Day 1: how did we get here?! Northern Lights is looking beautiful (the only plant in a 5 gal pot outside). No major issues. Kids were fed liquid nutrients for the second time 9/8, and will be recieving them once a week moving forward (hopefully every other watering). Gotta find a way to make watering a smoother process tho, might invest in a home RO filter 😂 Big dreams being discussed, this could be the start of the only cultivation, breeding, and distribution center that has a primary focus on re-entry and subsequent business development.. That’s how you do socially responsible business and policy. You heard me?

Probably sleep one of the plants in darkness for a couple of days and harvest midweek. The other plant can wait another week. Both plants smell lovely.
