Eternity Grow Cup - Week 11 VEG Report This is a pivotal week in our Eternity Grow Cup journey as we wrap up VEG and prepare to transition into FLOWER. Our goal has been to ensure that the plants are thriving and optimized for the next phase. This report will detail everything that took place during this crucial week. Mass Defoliation & Structural Training We began the week with an extensive defoliation session. Every leaf with a stem was removed to clear space for optimal light penetration and airflow. This process was done mostly by hand, clicking them off in the opposite direction of growth, while some stubborn ones were snipped with scissors. By the end, it felt like we had taken out nearly half a kilo of leaves! The room now looks clean, structured, and ready to fill out the ScroggNet. To further enhance the plant structure, branches were attached to the pots, allowing for better horizontal growth. This technique helps maximize canopy exposure and prepares the plants for even light distribution once flowering begins. Defoliation before flowering is a key step as it reduces overcrowding, improves airflow, and sets the plants up for efficient energy use in the next phase. Light Schedule & Adjustments This week, we introduced a subtle but effective light adjustment. While still maintaining an 18-hour light cycle, we initiated a 15-minute delay with the whites, allowing the reds to start first. This gradual shift signals the plants that a change is coming. Similarly, at the end of the light cycle, the whites turn off 15 minutes earlier, leaving the reds on for an extended period. This strategy mimics natural sunrise and sunset, helping the plants transition more smoothly into flowering. Additionally, at the end of the week, we will be implementing 48 hours of darkness before the official flip to flower. This method has worked exceptionally well in past grows, helping plants recognize the transition and encouraging a strong start to flowering. However, it's important to emphasize that this is a personal technique and not a universal rule. Every grower should experiment with different methods to find what works best for their specific environment. Environmental Conditions & Challenges Currently, our temperature is at 27°C with 60% humidity, resulting in a VPD of 1.50. While slightly higher than the ideal for VEG, our CO2 levels are over 1000 ppm, and the light intensity is at 570 PPFD, making it a manageable balance. The solution pH is 5.79 (essentially 5.8), EC is 1.38, and water temperature is 17.7°C. One challenge we are facing is maintaining optimal reservoir temperatures. Currently, it's a bit low at 17.7°C, and we are exploring solutions to raise it slightly. However, the medium temperature sits at 22.2°C, which is a good range. The humidifier is still in use, though it struggles to increase humidity further, so we are working with what we have to keep the VPD in check. ICL-300s Integration The ICL-300 lights are now fully active. Unlike the last grow, where we introduced them later, this time they are on from the start of flowering prep. This adjustment is an experiment to see if the plants respond better to an early introduction. Learning is at the core of this journey, and each grow offers new insights. Whether this proves to be the optimal strategy or not, it will be a valuable lesson for future grows. Okay so the result of my LST surprised me like a lot. The plant looks great under the light, it’s still my second grow so I hope to learn a lot about the beautiful plants and how they respond. I want to experience everything to learn from them and know how to respond. I think this week went good but the dry wet cyclus is something I really needed to learn this week. I first tried watering every day but i noticed that the soil wasn’t dry at all, so I thought no that’s maybe just the soil. *Ive learned this cycle in the next week* spoiler alert: it wasn’t I still give around 1 tbsp of the molasses because the plant is really responding good to it. The small plant is also looking healthy so perfect, just keep giving her love. I did a big oops: So, the plant grew bigger and bigger and faster then I could keep up. So I decided to lst some more, Olga went perfect and I build a lot of confidence from that. So... busy with the other “big” plant and I started doing the head top, but the band was just to tight, but I noticed that to late *SNAP*. Did I just snapped the biggest branch of the middle plant? Yes, I hated myself for 4 days until I thought: there are no mistakes, just happy..... (fill in with your brainpower) well see what happens

Not much to say about this real first grow week’s start. Everything looks ok, steady growth at 40% light. I had to restart the control app a few times, therefore the broken graphs. At night times, the control software tries to attain optimum humidity rather than optimum VPD. That’s why VPD is dropping when the lights are out. CO2 is back to baseline – really wonder what the reliable values are … I found I have to silence the blowers when a timelapse photo is being taken. The shaking you see at the beginning of the grow video should not appear, or to a much less degree, in the future. Day 13 (July 30th) shows good, steady growth. Leaves are a bit spotty, although less then the processed images show. Something to be worried about? I would not currently … All are developing their 3rd nodes now. The controlling Raspberry Pi crashed last night when I tried to access it remotely … ;( – looks like the Connect software is in need of an update. The leaf temperature sensor is now really aimed at lady-to-be nr. 1’s leaves. Nothing to change that I see. I won’t cut the top yet, just watered the outer circle of the big pots slightly to encourage root growth. Day 14: Nice growth. First plant is now at 11 cm, and at 12 cm on day 15. Nothing special to report so far, except for I had to move the internal camera a bit upwards to keep little lady #1 in focus. Day 16 and last day of this week (Aug 2nd): The young ladies are now at about 14 cm tall. Growth looks very compact though. I think the two inside girls will lose their heads next week; I’d still prefer to have one or two more nodes available. Pictures of this day are taken at the end of the plants’ day. Notice their leaves are pointing upwards, which should be a sign that they want more light. I turned the lights up by another 20% for a total of 60 W now. Weather was pretty hot the last days so it wasn’t possible to stay in optimum VPD range but as long as growth is this satisfying I don’t mind. I will water them slightly at their next day start. Outside plant’s soil humidity might still be at around 58% officially, but drying starts at around 40% with this measurement and the sensors are placed quite closely to the stems so outer soil is dryer. I am preparing the plant water with some additions and a frequency imprint suing some Solfeggio and Schumann frequencies.

Part of an 8pot tent. Sweet seeds always has been a great experience from seed to smoke. All the senses get a good dance when growing with this bank. So can’t say any better - looking forward to building a nice sweet seed variety. These are waiting for a Harvest in coming weeks so we have them around the place being looked after by spider leg LED fir the early stages. On mobile so will add nutrients to the diary as we go. Can’t have anyone thinking I’m feeding seed full clip lol.

we have nici branching and flowering. The plant didnt need an nutrients beacause it is in perfect soil. Still growing wider and higher, beatiful sativa plant. The smell is very exotic, like citrusy, gasy like. Mabye in 3-4 weeks we will have one plant done.

Was really worried the whole time through out my grow as I am a Newbie and this was my first grow. Thanks for all the help provided by users on growndiaries. Much appreciated. Had great result from my solo cup. 12.6 grams of dried bud. Time for curing and let that smell build up. Fingers crossed will taste better but smells amazing. Zesty smell when crushed. More confident for my next grow. Hopefully will be more fun and relaxing growing.
