Welcome to the second week of flowering of the Limited edition strain Orange Skunk Ryder This thing smell dank... really really dank... dank like a real skunk I wouldn't recommend this one for indoor growing without air filter. such small thing with such big smell it's only in week 2 of flowering, i was expecting some flowering hairs and that would be all i could expect. But this thing has a small handfull of small nuggets that are feeling quite dense already... a bit early to be that compact perhaps, but very nice to see

Flush is on. A week or so I reckon. 90% of trichomes are already cloudy. The smell is so complex! The colors amazing! Can’t wait!

Aug 3: still going strong starting the third week of flowering. I’m putting her in the garage at 9 pm, doing the 730 nm far red light to put plant into dark mode 2 h faster, and then out of garage at 7 am. So 10+ 2 h is 12 h dark and 14 h daylight or a 26 h day. The far red light definitely works as a bloom booster and helps the plants finish faster when the sun is stronger. Did morning foliar spray of Extreme Blend and potassium silicate. Aug 4: always some defoliation to be done and I took out all the small stuff that was growing into the centre. If I had a longer season I could have left some of these small branches but I want the energy directed toward the prime bud sites. Also removing leaves makes it more stable in the wind. Yet another growing trade-off. Aug 5: she looks great coming out of the dark garage this morning. Lots of colas with lots of buds 👍👍 Aug 6: added UV lights from AC Infinity. This far north we run out of strong sunlight before it gets too cold in the fall. By adding UV lights, this will make Edmonton in September seem like California in July. Along with genetics, UV light is the main factor controlling trichome and THC production. Adding UV light for a couple of hours per day centred at peak sun (currently 1:39 pm) should help a lot this far north. At the other end of the light spectrum, I use Forever Green Indoor (FGI) 730 nm far red light. This is the third season using the far red light as a bloom booster and it definitely works. A few seconds at dusk is all it takes to put the plant into dark mode two hours faster, and is like getting a 26 h day. Bud ripen earlier and therefore under stronger sun. Both of these lights are low power LED used for a few hours (UV) or just a few seconds (far red). Gotta love science and technology when it allows us to figure this kind of out.

She is so huge. I had to top her after the photos because i can't raise my light anymore. Hopefully it will still help with the lower buds since she is still just starting flowering

I started her flushing this week. I think she wants another week to ripen so I don’t plan to chop her until next Saturday (29/2). She is still filling in the runs on her tops. Two weeks ago I wouldn’t have thought she could but there’s been plenty of calyx growth and the runs are nearly gone 😃.

Buds are finally fattening up! I've decided to open her main stems a little bit, lack of space in the grow tent made training almost impossible but using this plate method I'm able to expand her arms while keeping her in a quite small surface. Guess what, the plate works really well, it was easy to set up and it helps a lot improving the airflow around the main colas.

So forgot to add last week I took out the scrog net as I personally think the plants were to far into flowering now to be trying to tie them down! This week I’ve been trying to check trichomes!! Also I’ve added canna pk13/14 nutrients! As I think there getting closer to harvest time! I’m planning on using this 13:14 for two weeks feeding?? Then flush for 7-10 days with just normal soft tap water ph’d down to 5.8!!?? Also ordered a microscope just waiting on arrival! So I need to keep checking these trichomes until turning a little milky?? But overall still happy with my first grow so far! Notice leaves are turning yellow do I trim them? Or let them die naturally? Any help still needed cheers

Her flowers are continuing to bulk up and are covered in glistening trichomes. She appears to be starting to fade which is exactly what I'm hoping to see, meaning that she's just about used up the nutrients in her medium. I watered today with 1.5g of de-chlorinated water which was then ph'd to 6.6 @ 72℉ turned her pot and shot a few pictures of her. And lastly, I have to address the 'elephant in the room'. Yes, it looks like she's got some seeds in her flowers. She's in my 4x8 with seven other ladies and, unbeknownst to me, my Do Si Dos #33 developed some male flowers that were EXTREMELY small and well hidden. As a result, she got fertilized. This happened so late into flower that I decided to go ahead and finish her out. My hopes are that I get some viable seeds which should be an interesting F1 cross between these two. 10/6- Today I watered her with 1.5g of her usual straight de-chlorinated water that's ph'd to 6.5 @ 72℉ and turned her pot. She's just starting to fade, is still stacking her flowers, bulking up and has an incredible amount of trichomes which I'm beginning to monitor daily. 10/8- The routine of watering every other day continues like clockwork. Yesterday was a 'no water' day and I did a basic check over of the plant, removed a couple of yellowed lower leaves and turned her pot. Today she got the usual 1.5g of straight de-chlorinated water that's ph'd to 6.5 @ 72℉ and had her pot turned. I've also begun to check her trichome development with a digital USB microscope to try to identify the ideal harvest time which, according to the breeder, will be here in around three weeks +/- but nothing is cut in stone so I'll let the trichomes determine when she's ready...ya never know, could be a lot sooner! 🤪 10/10- Well, Week Eight has come, gone and has been a trial once again of my patience with this 11-12 Week cultivar! She's so freaking frosty that I've wanted to chop her several times but, I know from experience, good things come to those who wait... then wait a bit more. I anticipate that she's not going to make the 77-84 days in flower 'suggested' by the breeder for best taste/yield and will probably go closer to the 9 weeks +/- which is the minimum recommended flowering period for this strain, but we'll have to see what her trichomes have to say! I've cut the wattage back on the HLG 650R to 500w at the wall now to simulate the way that sunshine becomes weaker as fall approaches due to the lower angle of the sun in the sky. This helps outdoor plants to know that winters on the way and they need to hurry up and complete their life cycle. Cutting the wattage back creates the same effect on the indoor plants, especially when coupled with lowered temperatures in the tent. I have also noticed that her water uptake has slowed. After her heavy watering on the 8th, her pot still had some weight to it and she was looking great so I went ahead and skipped watering her today, watering her tomorrow at lights on with her usual. First time actually making it to harvest also a enjoyable smoke best tasting compared to the dispensary I miss it already took 3 grows to get this one

Another week is over. Got an upgrade on my ventilation. Bought a scrog net, decided to scrog for the first time. Noticed deficiencies starting to show up. Gave all the the ladies 2L distilled water Mixed 10L distilled water with 20ml connoisseur grow 10 ml calmag 7 grams of great white powder 20ml of tarantula PPM 748 PH 5.6 They got the distilled water first 2 hours later they got 0.8L of tapwater. The white haze only got 2L of the distilled water with the nutrient mix. With the next watering I will give them 4ml/L fertiliser, I think they are starting to get hungry, because they have now used up all the fertiliser in the soil, I used plagron lightmix.

Buds are starting to put on a little weight now and from now on that’s all these plants will focus on scrofula seems to be perfect
