🍰 Lava Cake – Final Harvest & Smoke Report GrowDiaries | Week 8 (Harvest & Cure) After months of dedication, lessons, and love, our Lava Cake journey comes to a close — and what an ending it is. Both phenotypes reached maturity beautifully, wrapped in dense, resin-coated buds that carry the unmistakable aroma of sweetness and spice. 🌱 From Seed to Harvest — A Journey in Full Bloom Our Lava Cake journey began from seed with two unique phenotypes, both full of potential and personality. Week after week, through careful nutrition, TrolMaster monitoring, and endless observation, we watched them evolve. From the early stages of vegetative vigor, through the lush canopy of mid-flower, and even through the challenges of heat and bud rot, these girls showed true resilience. Each setback taught something — about balance, airflow, humility, and the living rhythm of nature. Both plants were ultimately harvested with respect and gratitude. ⸻ ✂️ Harvest & Trimming After about two weeks of slow drying at 60°F / 60% RH, the branches began to snap — a sure sign the moisture was just right. Each plant was trimmed by hand, carefully and patiently, letting every calyx, pistil, and trichome tell its own story. The buds were dense, sticky, and heavily frosted — a trimmer’s delight. Finger hash collected along the way was pure gold, rich in aroma and bursting with terpenes. Each snip of the scissors felt like sculpting something sacred. Both plants were dried whole, allowing for slower moisture migration and a smoother final cure. ⸻ 🌿 On Trichomes and Harvest Timing We chose to harvest when most trichomes were cloudy, with only a few still clear and very few amber. This moment — just before full amber maturity — is where potency meets flavor at its peak. Why cloudy trichomes? Because that’s when cannabinoids like THC and terpenes are at their maximum activity. Too early, and you lose potency; too late, and THC starts converting into CBN, giving a heavier, sleepier effect. Cloudy trichomes deliver a balanced high — euphoric yet grounding — capturing the essence of the strain in its full potential. ⸻ 🌸 Aroma, Taste & Effects The Lava Cake lives up to her name and lineage. Her rich terpene profile brings waves of sweet baked goods, layered with berry and grape undertones inherited from her Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies x Grape Pie heritage. When smoked, she’s smooth, creamy, and sweet, leaving a lingering flavor on the palate that feels like dessert for the senses. The effects are deeply relaxing, melting away tension and replacing it with calm contentment. This isn’t a beginner’s strain — her high is potent, steady, and full-bodied. A few tokes are enough to drift into a deeply peaceful, happy state. Perfect for evenings, rest days, or moments when the world needs to slow down. ⸻ 🌬️ Curing — Grove Bags & UV Glass Jars After trimming, buds were stored in Grove Bags, which naturally maintain humidity between 55–62%, eliminating the need for daily “burping.” These innovative curing bags use a one-way humidity membrane, preserving terpenes and color while preventing mold. Alongside them, we used black UV-resistant glass jars — perfect for long-term storage, protecting cannabinoids from light degradation and keeping aromas fresh. Together, these methods allowed the buds to cure into perfection — firm, aromatic, and bursting with flavor. ⸻ 🔥 Resin, Hash & Full Spectrum Bar All trim from the grow — not just from Lava Cake — was collected to make a full-spectrum bar using simple, natural heat extraction with hot water in a glass bottle. The result was a potent, sticky, terpene-rich concentrate that perfectly captures the soul of the garden. ⸻ ⚖️ Final Yields • Pheno #1: 144g dry • Pheno #2: 99g dry Both phenotypes displayed amazing bud density and structure. In fact, their sheer weight caused a few branches to snap under their own mass — another reason that influenced our harvest timing. These were heavy girls, through and through. 🌿💪 ⸻ 🙏 Gratitude & Reflections To everyone who followed along — thank you. To Zamnesia, for the genetics and inspiration, thank you. To the GrowDiaries community, the supporters, the doubters, and everyone in between — thank you for being part of this experience. And above all, thanks to God, because without Him, none of this beauty — not even the smallest seed — would exist. Growing Lava Cake wasn’t just about cultivation; it was about connection, learning, and the sacred patience of nature. ⸻ 🌀 Closing Thoughts From seed to smoke, these Lava Cakes have been a story of flavor, resilience, and soul. Despite challenges like heat and bud rot, the final result was spectacular: frosty, aromatic, powerful flowers that embody everything beautiful about this craft. As we light the first cured joint, we celebrate not just the harvest, but the journey itself. Until the next grow — stay curious, stay kind, and keep growing. 🌱💚 Thank you to everyone who followed this run — your support, questions, and shared passion have been part of what made this project so rewarding. The full smoke review will follow this harvest report and will be presented in 4K on YouTube, where we’ll document the aroma, flavor, burn, and overall experience with both phenotypes and the pressed hash. 📲 Don’t forget to Subscribe and follow me on Instagram and YouTube @DogDoctorOfficial for exclusive content, real-time updates, and behind-the-scenes magic.

Day 69: Watered each plant with 1.5L with nuts 1379 ppm, 2951us/cm, 2.9 EC (1 purple punch, wedding Cheesecake) 1391 ppm, 2959 us/cm, 2.9 EC (gorilla cookies) 1L 319 ppm, 678 us/cm 0.6 EC (3 strawberry banana and 2 purple punch) (2L each) 3 different feedings for the 10 plants Still flushing all the strawberry banana and 2 purple punch with flawless finisher, 2ml per L. (1st week flawless finisher, 2L each, 2nd week clear water, 150L each pH tap water) Day 71: I've been struggling with the humidity, always around 70%, I can't turn the lights off at the moment. I lost one of the main fans during 2 days, and I found mold on all the tops on one purple punch and on the smaller strawberry banana as well. First timing having this issue! High humidity plus not enough air circulation equals this. Mistakes happen for a reason. Need to start rethinking my whole air circulation, exaustor, fans, etc etc. I removed the infected buds, I used a magnified glass to help me do the job better. I did everything like the book. Already have 3 fans on the tent, let's see how it goes. Humidity between 65-75% Day 73: Watered each plant with 1.5L with nuts 1458 ppm, 3101us/cm, 3.1 EC (2 wedding Cheesecake and 1 gorilla cookies) 283 ppm, 602 us/cm 0.6 EC (3 strawberry banana, 3 purple punch and 1 wedding Cheesecake) (2L each) 2 different feedings for the 10 plants Still flushing, 1st week flawless finisher, 2L each, 2nd week clear water, 150L each pH tap water) Everything running smooth, they are starting to show the colors from the flush I've been doing. Day 75: Watered each plant with 1.5L with nuts 290 ppm, 617 us/cm 0.6 EC (3 strawberry banana, 3 purple punch and 3 wedding Cheesecake) (2L each) Day 77: Watered each plant with 1.5L with nuts 1811 ppm, 3810 us/cm, 3.8 EC (gorilla cookies) 253 ppm, 538 us/cm 0.5 EC (3 strawberry banana, 3 purple punch and 3 wedding Cheesecake) (2L each) Still flushing... Going to cut some of them this week.

I think she was locking out nutrients or something. She has stayed very dark, and it was taking a long time for her to mature. But now that she is being flushed, she's filling in and growing nicely. Very resinous and looks like she's gonna be dense

It was an easy harvest as the colas developed nicely. Hardly any popcorn nugs and very little sugar leaves. If the weather had allowed it, I think she could have grown even bigger, but I'm more than happy with the outcome!

Started Germination in a glass of water (pH6,78, used 2 drops). After 24 hours transferd the seeds to a paper towel and moistend it with the water from the cup. After 24 hours you could see minor cracks and some had tiny tap roots. Let them be for another 24 hours after which they developed the tap roots you see in the last 3 video's/photo. Very happy that all the seeds came up. Choose this strain for the high yields and high thc levels.

Great week! I got some surprisly wonderful grow from my babies :) Today 03.11 i bend them a bit to expose them to the light, the blueberry and the gorilla are answering well, but the amnesia and the sweet zz are still small but the sweet zz is showing some pistils so I think I will grow a sort of bonsai 😂 Still curious how they will react to some enchanced water, tomorrow! 5.11 The plants react very well to the enchanced water, but I got a small problem with the humidity: sometimes it drops to 45-50%. Dunno why, sometimes I spray some water on them to keep them moist and happy 😇 7.11 Today I discovered that I could dimm the light! It’s SO BRIGHT right now! The famiglia is growing well, the Gorilla Glue is much bigger than the others, while the Sweet ZZ decided to stay at bonsai-level :/ 8.11 God created sunday for taking a break. I use my sundays to take care about my automatic famiglia! From now I’m pumping a bit more the two bonsais, while the others will grow as usual. The light is more bright than ever, the conditions are perfect! I even added a pot of catnip for the guardian of the growbox, since he’s curious and sometimes sneak into it while I’m refilling the water..

In the last week, smell changed. Very nice odour coming out of the tent every time I open it. Cause of issue with very high ppm in last week watering I decided to water once with only 200 ppm water with a bit of calmag (runoff 1700) and second 500 ppm watering with only flowering nutrients 4 mL BioBloom and 2 ml TopMax ( runoff 1000 ppm) So ppm issue seems resolved and I'll try to aim for 1000 ppm for next watering.

wish i got that ph tester sooner lol massive difference!! The flowers are coming on very nicely, I am confident alot of my issues in the past were from my ph being off. Cant wait to see the flowers this harvest. Not much to report back on other than that. co2 is going with the homemade mix from my previous diaries. should see some really nice flowers by next week!
