These buds are exploding in growth and trichomes. I do a very light defoliation plucking fan leaves here and there every couple days. Wish I would have cleaned up more on the lower of some branches for less energy waste on larf, will have to see how it finishes since this is the first time I use the SE1000 at 100% intensity. Also want to mention that ever since I switched to water soluble Advanced Nutrients pro series the growth, development, visual, size, resin, scent and flavor of the buds has been day and night. Also it lasts ALOT longer compared to their liquid bottles, this is the second grow using it.

PH is going down down down, corrected it with PH up up up. I don't know why it dropped ~0.1/hr when EC stayed pretty much stable, roots look fine, no smells so... ??? Did defoliation as usual, the NL #1 + 2 need it every couple of days, the Ori is just fine, doesn't need anything. Also did LST and lollipoping. Smells get more intense

Sooo.... The last week was a bit of a pain in the ass. I flushed the plant on day 14 and just gave the plant plain water for the remainder of week 3 in flower. By about day 18 I started to notice that the leaves were getting a little yellow on the top of my mother plant. The LED lights were only 7 inches from the canopy! I hadn't been paying attention to how much the plant had grown and how close it was to the light. I raised the lights so they are 14 inches above the canopy. I thought that would make the color of the leaves return. However, her condition started to get worse. Several of the fan leaves on the top of the plant started to curl up and fold like tacos. I also noticed that some of the top fan leaves were getting copper colored tops and edges. some of the lower leaves under the canopy began to fall off with severe deformities and grey patches. Some research into the matter led me to believe that I had nutrient deficiencies. I knew that I had not fed her nutes in almost a week but I don't think that would lead to the plant's current condition as quickly as it did. I then tested the Ph runoff from the pot and it was incredibly acidic! Almost 5.0! My crap Ph pen had crapped out and was giving erroneous readings. I have since flushed the plant again and properly Ph'd the water. Now I have to wait and see if her condition improves. I hope this doesn't affect the yield too much. Pro Tip: Always calibrate your meters before use!

Auto moon rock is just about done. She has been on ph water for a few days now. This was a interesting perlite grow. I might do another in a fabric potter to further embark on my experiment. April 23 Fading leaves and turning purple. I'm making sure to do my due diligence in removing all dead leaves between the buds as they die, so that I'm not having dead leaves stuck in the bud as it dries. Trichomes aren't quite where I want them yet. The ones nearest the light are orange, but not much orange is anywhere else.

Needed a little cal mag. Moved the plants to a tent and I haven’t seen signs of needing to feed but it’s the 5th week so I added mutes at a weaker strength. Also started using molasses week 4 once or twice a week

This week I defoliated. Waited three weeks into flowering, to not stress them like I did last grow. She is rewarding me with some fat bud growth at many sites. I overwatered beginning of this week, but hey seemed to have taken it well. I did another amendment. The first one last week was a test, to see how they responded, they took it well. Just compare last week to this one. The amendment I did: - 5 liters of worm castings - 2 cups bonemeal - 1 cup wood ash - 1 cup microlife I layered this on top of my pots, covering this with bio-coco (pre fertilized) to ward of gnats. The gnats have been getting less and less. They don't like the coco that much, while humidity is just the same and last week higher since I did some more watering. I watered with the perma tea. While this is pretty acidic (PH 5), I can amend with more wood-ash, if you don't and follow this recipe, don't do too much wood-ash since it will kill off your micro organisms. I lowered the light diagonally since the outer right plant is longer and closer to it. The SP 3000 is still performing as you can see. Temps were a bit higher with the lights so low, so far the Orange Hill Special doesn't seem to mind. Im totally amazed with the results so far. I had such a good response applying raw aloe very gel to the silver haze, just look at this weeks pics compared to last weeks. You can clearly see the difference. Aloe is high in beneficial enzymes and growth factors and more importantly an excellent source of silica. Cannabis flower, specifically the trichomes are made up of between 78% and up to 86% silica depending on the cultivar, so far only a small number of cultivars have been tested. However its clear that cannabis flowers NEED silica. Silica will also help with drought tolerance, it will armour your plant against pests, it will help the plant with transpiration, it will make water transport much easier for the plant, freeing up energy for other things like flower production. Also, If used as a foliar spray once a week in veg, it will help tighten up node spacing. So if you want those frosty buds make sure you have silica readily available for your plants.
