Therefore, a plant with healthy, oxygenated roots performing efficient aerobic respiration in addition to the rest of the plant's cellular respiration has a much greater overall ATP production and energy capacity. A soil without organic matter will generally have a low Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Biochar is often prized for its potential to increase soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), but this effect is highly dependent on the specific properties of the biochar (feedstock and pyrolysis temperature) and the soil type to which it is applied. High-ash biochars, especially those produced at lower temperatures and applied to acidic or sandy soils, can significantly boost CEC by providing abundant binding sites for cations like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). Biochar is more sustainable than typical organic matter for long-term soil improvement primarily due to its high stability and resistance to microbial decomposition, allowing it to persist in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years. This longevity provides a lasting positive effect on soil properties, particularly by increasing the cation exchange capacity (CEC) over time, while regular organic matter breaks down much faster. Biochar generally offers a much higher CEC than coco coir, though specific values vary greatly; while coco coir might sit around 40-60 cmol/kg, biochar can range from tens to over 200 cmol/kg, with sources like Acacia wood biochar or even coconut shell biochar often surpassing coco's capacity due to its porous structure, creating significantly more cation-binding sites for nutrients, making it superior for nutrient retention. Needs to be charged similar to coco but at a much higger rate. But shhhh.. It's a secret. Recommend a balanced ratio of key cations, particularly calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K). A widely accepted general "ideal soil" cation saturation ratio is approximately 65-85% Ca, 6-12% Mg, and 2-5% K. That's roughly what I give mine. Can even add N in its NH4+ form

Both seeds were planted on the same day, however, one is growing faster which leaves me to assume that's a male which I am very much happy for…time will tell.

All three plants are happy and showing a nice layer of trichomes. Still in 2litre pots.

she is chopped and hanging. I took her down at day 46 of flower. she is not a super yielder but she is a heavy Indica smoke and is very nice body and heavy high, very enjoyable. wet I got 133 grams, trimmed and jarred 31 grams. still not bad. she grew small from the start, you could see the Indica, small and good for gorilla grows. she grows really sticky so keep an eye on the smell. from the start of this she took a few days longer to get going than the other testers. she can up on day five from seed. she got a nice 5 week veg time and stayed small. she went into flower with no problem and gained a few inches in flower but still remanded small because of the genes. she frosted up starting in the third week, and as the flowers grew so did the trichomes. she is real sticky starting around the fourth week as well as the heavy smell. again the smell needs to be watched. I did not have to do to much with this one just let her grow. I pinched her a few times during veg and a few in flower. when I say pitched I should say twisted and pinched the top down so the side branches could catch up and also build the side branches and flower sites up. you could increase yield by a 5 gal a good 8 week veg and a net. I had fun with this and will have a smoke report next week on this one. I also was able to get a nice fade of yellows light green and some purples going. real hard to get photos of.

Hey guys, Like I said last week, this week was another cold rainy week. Discoverd some budrot on my Shamans, but not mayor problems. Therefore I decided to Harvest my Shamans at the end of this week. Knowing that in the upcomming weeks it will get even more colder, more rain and more bud rot. Luckly I only gave them water and one time with Humic-Blast and enzym+. Thats not a proper flush but better then full nutrients in the soil/plant. If it wasn't for the colder climate, i would had let them flower for another 1 to 2 weeks because they really started to thicken and the flowers were swelling. But at the end i rather have smokable buds then budrot buds,,, Weather for the upcomming week is 70% to 92% rain with 11-14 degrees Celcius and at night even 7-9 celcius. So there is no point by risking all of my buds to rot, in hope for some swelling which may never come with this colds The Critical Kushes where in their 4th week of flowering, going into the 5th. I have no other choice to keep them at least for another 2-4 weeks, lets see how it goes. I don't mind spending nutrients on maybe a lost cost. It's officially week 4 of veg. What a ride! These ladies DO NOT give up and neither did i. Second grow, it is a learning curve. With all the growth stunned, i am a bit impatient. BUT the good news is the smallest have starting growing again. Anyways... 👽👉19/9 New automation program for this week. (See pictures for app screenshots for automation and datalogger) Temps - 21night/29day RH% - 60RH night / 68RH day My plan is to decrease the humidity at night, to increase the vpd. The same goes for my light output and nutrients. Changing the variables gradually over time. 👽👉20/9 I topped two more plants. The growth is gradually getting better. They should be ready for their first real feed tomorrow. (Only top fed them last watering) 👽👉21/9 ** First real feed. -They reacted well to a last lose dose top feeding, so this time i will give them a full feed, but same low dose. -Programmed new automation based on VPD Graf (see pictures) Set to 1.0 VPD. // Inkbird app, i am adjusting the RH% to the temp in the tent. -Did some experimental LST on one of the smaller ones. Dont have a co2 meter, but have co2 bag. But it has not been added as a variable to the climate calculations. 👽👉22/9 The new automation program has proven efficient and working(for now). Now its interesting to see the plants adapting the constant VPD. 👽👉23/9 Did some more LST work to keep the tallest ladies at level. 👽👉24/9 Visiting the ladies and checking up on the lst work. Sorry for the huge delay, I wanted to update this earlier but COVID-19 happened everywhere and many things happened where I live. Nonetheless, I have all the photos and I'll be finishing this diary soon. The smell of both of my babies was quite, quite strong. It even made me feel very dizzy every time I checked them. During the week the leaves from Pistachio started to turn yellow while the ones from Matcha finally started to show signs of the excesses and burn, the mistakes I made earlier started to become more and more apparent so it was only a matter of time. Also, everytime a leaf started to die I removed it as soon as possible... but that might become more evident at the time lapse I uploaded! This was the last week of flower for Pistachio, and I'll leave Matcha a couple more days with some direct light on her (I want her pistils to mature a bit more), but next week is finally the week when I cut them. Trichomes on both plants are ready! 😲 Thanks for reading!

hi all. Defoliation and LST was done last week. due to a malfunction in the timer, the plant entered the pre-flowering phase. but it doesn't suit me. she needs to get bigger! so next month will be dedicated to maximum growth!

This adoptee has been growing nicely, although she suffered from stress because she wasn’t taken care off very well (she & other had a to find new Homes). But after having it for 4 weeks, now entering the 5th week (of flowering, I Guess) We are getting closer and closer to harvest. Today’s pictures are from Sunday, we are maturing well :3 there will be only 3 more feeds with nutrients, then flush, an wait for the ideal time to harvest.

Hello everyone, I had an outdoor grow that just got ruined by some deer who decided to eat my plants. The wife is letting me grow on the patio thankfully, better than nothing. I am currently germinating one seed and will be growing in soil using distilled water/rain water. I plan to plant the seeds on the 24th Have a great week. Update: Seed popped tap root in under 24 hours, I planted the seed and have the humidifier on. Then I will move outside once established.

Well, that day has come, the girl would have been really different if not for the high temperature, strong light, and a huge lack of potassium :( well, everything will be fine next time :) live and learn :) I am satisfied with the result, which is what I need :) got 200 gr of liquid :) gathered a lot of sugar leaf :) they are already in the sweet shop :D I will make an addition!! good growth and success :)

Every plant in garden day 56 Noticed yellowing mid week 7 don’t think it fade having some ph issues my run off is 7.2 after flush then watered again still up at 7 so hopefully going to water at like 6 6.1 from now till it goes down growth continues tho some buds getting big ☺️

Good bud and visible trichome development.😍 Stretch seems to be slowing down by the end of this week. Another round of MegaWorm and Guano powder spread on the soil this week. Temperatures and and watering needs are increasing as the light is set to 100% this week. 160W of LED on about a third of a square meter should push these plants to some nice yields.🙌

No fue difícil de cultivar aunque la empezara en octubre, tuvo la visita de algunas orugas pero no causaron casi ningún daño. -Empecé el cultivo en octubre, esto y la falta de luz hizo que mis plantas no llegaran a la altura deseada, no tuvieron todo el sol que necesitaban y se espigaron. Les hice un corte FIM a una planta y apical a la otra, lo cual hizo que las puntas desarrollaran una forma curiosa. - El producto final son 23,3 gramos de cogollos no demasiado prietos pero muy resinosos y con unos colores preciosos. - El sabor es algo difícil de definir. En el sabor no he encontrado el coco, pero sí las frutas tropicales, mango y cítrico. Y me parece haber saboreado algo de hierbas. Es un sabor agradable aunque solo lo haya curado durante tres semanas. -El colocón es indico, pero empieza como algo cerebral y se va extendiendo por el cuerpo pero sin dejarte k.o. A mí me ha convencido, he disfrutado cultivándola, la recomiendo a quien esté pensando en probarla These mangos are amazingly gorgeous. They took a bluish tone and some petals turned a very strong pink color. It was not difficult to grow considering that I planted it a little late, I only had the visit of some caterpillars. There are some pics of one of them. -I started cultivation in October, this and the lack of light caused my plants not to reach the desired height, they did not have all the sun they needed and they sprouted. I made a FIM cut to one plant and apical to the other, which caused the tips to develop a curious shape. - The final product is 23.3 grams of buds not too tight but very resinous and with beautiful colors. - The taste is something difficult to define. In the flavor I have not found the coconut, but the tropical fruits, mango and citrus. And i think i tasted something herbal. It's a nice taste even if I only cured it for three weeks. -The high is indicated, but starts as something cerebral and is extending through the body but without leaving k.o. It has convinced me, I have enjoyed cultivating it, I recommend it to anyone who is thinking of trying it00
