🍋🍒 Week 1 — Lemon Cherry Gelato | 12/12 From Seed | First Observations Introduction & Gratitude A huge thank you to everyone supporting this project: genetics providers, Plagron for the nutrient line, Future of Grow for the lighting and control system, Cannakan for the clean start, and the GrowDiaries community of supporters, critics, and followers. Your presence makes this more than a grow — it becomes a shared experience and a learning journey. ⸻ Genetics Overview — Lemon Cherry Gelato This cultivar is known for citrus and sweet cherry terpene potential, balanced hybrid traits, and beautiful early morphology. Already in Week 1 she displays her own character. ⸻ Early Development — Long, Elegant First Leaves Among all seedlings in the 8×8, Lemon Cherry Gelato stands out immediately. Her first true leaves are long, narrow, elegant, and beautifully symmetrical. Under macro photography, the serrations and venation look almost painted. Despite being under 12/12 from seed, she expresses confidence and early aesthetic structure. ⸻ Growing Medium — Pro-Mix Mycorrhizal 14.5 L Bags Benefits of the mycorrhizal medium: • Faster and healthier root colonization • Improved nutrient uptake, especially phosphorus • Better water distribution and drought tolerance • Enhanced metabolic stability during 12/12-from-seed • Stronger early vigor and more efficient compact growth Grow bags also encourage air pruning and strong fibrous root development, which is ideal for short-cycle runs like 12/12. Lemon Cherry Gelato appears to respond extremely well to this combination — the long early leaves are a good sign of strong underground development. ⸻ Feeding — Plagron Nutrient Strategy (Week 1) All plants in the space share the same feeding mix: In water: • Terra Grow: 25 ml / 10 L • Power Roots: 1 ml / L • Pure Zym: 1 ml / L • Sugar Royal: 1 ml / L Foliar: • Vita Race: 2.5 ml / L Why it works well: Power Roots + mycorrhizae creates a synergistic boost for early root expansion. Pure Zym keeps the medium active and helps nutrient uptake. Sugar Royal increases stress resistance under 12/12. Vita Race enhances early growth and leaf strength. Terra Grow provides the nitrogen support this fast-cycle method demands. ⸻ Environmental Conditions (Week 1) • EC: ~1.0 • pH: ~6.0 • Water Temperature: 21–22°C • Room Temperature: ~28°C • Humidity: 65–70% • CO₂: ~666 ppm • PPFD: 500 from the start These numbers are stable, healthy, and ideal for early 12/12 development. ⸻ Lighting — 500 PPFD Under Hyper Red Spectrum Using the Future of Grow Air Grow Pro III 2.95 Hyper Red LED at 500 PPFD from day one. The Hyper Red spectrum and consistent PPFD help maintain tight internodes and support strong early leaf development. This strain seems particularly responsive to light, expressing refined leaf shape and good posture. ⸻ What to Expect Next Weeks 2–3: • Slow but steady vertical growth • Root system expands aggressively with help from mycorrhizae • Leaf width and color deepen • Early hormonal adaptation to 12/12 Weeks 4–5: • First mini-stretch • Clear bud site formation • Early fragrance hints on stem rubs (citrus/cherry tones) This strain tends to become visually impressive early and aromatic early, even under a compact flowering schedule. ⸻ Metrics Being Tracked • PPFD, dimmer %, and light height • Temperature, humidity, and VPD • EC, pH, and water temperature • Morphology (noting the long early leaf structure) • Root behavior in Pro-Mix bags • Mycorrhizal response • Any early terpene hints ⸻ Final Thoughts Week 1 shows Lemon Cherry Gelato as an artistic and expressive cultivar. The long, elegant leaves and her strong early structure reflect excellent interaction between the genetics, Pro-Mix mycorrhizal medium, and the lighting environment. She may be small now due to the 12/12 schedule, but the foundation suggests a beautiful flowering stage ahead. Thank you to everyone following this multi-strain, multi-medium 12/12 project. This folder is only beginning — and Lemon Cherry Gelato is already showing her unique soul. Photography is part of the story — it’s how we share the fine textures, the glow, and the quiet details that words can’t always capture. I’ve also started experimenting with photo stacking — a technique where multiple images, each taken at a slightly different focus point, are layered together to create one perfectly sharp image from front to back. It’s not digital enhancement or AI; it’s pure photography — a way to reveal the plant’s beauty in microscopic depth, from trichome to petal. You’ll even see a few shots of "ghost me" capturing the shots — camera, lens, setup — because every grow deserves not just to be cultivated, but documented like art. We are at 21 days from these girls breaking the surface and they are making progress. I noticed at the beginning of the week that they were a little overdosed on nitrogen so I added 2 gallons of tap water to the reservoir and adjusted the ph to 6. They are still looking a little heavy on N but their growth rate is going great so I think it should balance out by the end of next week. I dont plan on doing a water change until I flower them. I left the plants alone most of the week. Tied most of them down to spread them out and defoliated a few lower leaves on day 20. The branches on most of these plants are thick and solid already. They don't budge easily. Bananasicle is looking pretty funky with uneven branch and node growth but we are just going to push forward. Still pumping nutrients and beaming light 24 hours a day. I'm thinking day 28 we will switch them to flower and see if any of these ladies can bring some❄️🔥💨

Week 7: Bloom Phase Launch & Heat Resilience Update: 04.07.2025 | Day 52 Temperatures peaked at 37°C this week – all plants handled the stress like champions. Zero pest issues. Took them out of the greenhouse to prevent heat stress. Adjusted feeding to address yellowing leaves. Strain Progress: Forbidden Runtz Officially in full bloom mode. Buds forming densely across the canopy with visible resin on sugar leaves. LST created a perfectly even structure. Emits a distinct sweet-fruity aroma when brushed – taste potential is promising. Minor yellowing on lower sugar leaves addressed with Bokashi boost. Otherwise impeccable health. Green Crack Caught up to Forbidden Runtz in size. First buds forming across all tops with early resin glimmers. Less bushy than Bruce Banner but likely needs 4-5 more weeks. Aroma present but subtle – awaiting signature mango punch. Strategic tie-downs continue to balance secondary shoots. Bruce Banner The standout performer. Bud sites exploding from every node under heavy LST. Top-down view reveals exceptional cola distribution. Responded best to training – poised to yield heaviest in the trio. Genuine testament to FastBuds' genetics. Feeding Adjustment: - Crushed Biotabs dissolved in water (50ml concentrate per 10L) - Added to every watering with Bokashi juice (1:100) - Targets yellowing while accelerating nutrient release Next Focus: - Monitor bud density development weekly and watch out for pests - Monitor plants for nute deficencies and to ensure the best growth as possible Catch ya next week. – Smoking_Joe_Frazier

This is my first grow indoor, 2 plants in a tend 80 x 80 x 160 cm. Using a mix substract, in a 7 liters vase. Germination was done with the paper towel method. At the first week one of them was stagnated, so I forced up the seed and probably hurt a cotyledone.

Beautiful strain, very very purple intense color, will make content on her by the day, can't really show very well the plants at night but I had to update the diary so, sorry about that. Very citric aroma just like her sisters, wonderful strain to grow and harvest fast. And she makes your garden look more colorful. I love this auto strain guys very recomended.

We've reached the end of this journey, the result was good, a very good strain to cultivate. The buds had a very good aroma, dense and resinous, now we just have to wait for the drying and curing process to complete the cycle. ✌️✌️✌️ 🌫️

After trimming everything under the net she has focused on sprouting more upwards towards the light, stems are nice and thick and budsites are nice and even so will grow evenly when budding!

Hello Growmies, As we round up week 5 with our Watermelon Candy F1 Hybrid by Zamnesia, the growth has been nothing short of impressive. The choice to employ low-stress training (LST) rather than topping has paid dividends, with the plants responding well to the gentle guidance of their growth, seamlessly integrating into the SCROG setup. This method has allowed for an even canopy spread, optimal light penetration, and air flow, which is critical for the health of the plants and ultimately the yield. Observing the Watermelon Candy's development, we see a testament to our cultivation methods. The vibrant green leaves reaching skywards, the sturdy stems, and the strategic placement of each branch in the SCROG—every detail points towards a successful vegetative phase. In terms of environmental control, we've applied the lessons learned from our other strains, maintaining a stable and ideal VPD during the day with the Tent-X system. The nights, however, have brought forth the same challenges we've faced with other strains, showing fluctuations in VPD levels. The integration of the Smart Mars Hydro fan into the Tent-X system is anticipated to solve this, and we are optimistic that this change will bring about the consistent conditions needed for the Watermelon Candy's continual thriving. Even with the small hiccup in the nighttime environmental control, the plants are flourishing. The robust health they exhibit is a sign they're ready for the flowering phase, and we expect nothing less than a bountiful harvest. And while we've experienced a bit of frustration with Secret Jardin and Mars Hydro for the integration challenges, we appreciate TrolMaster's efforts to assist. We are hopeful for a resolution soon, or we may revert to the reliable Prima Klima setup. As we move forward, the focus remains on the consistent monitoring and adjusting of their environment to ensure these Watermelon Candy F1 Hybrids realize their full potential. Stay lifted, Salokin

15/08/18 - all looking good got loads of roots piercing out the sides of the smart pot , I’m thinking of adding cannazyme soon to break up all the dead roots etc, I’m feeding them the usual tonight and 2 litres each 💧and I’m done with LST now im just gonna let them start to stretch🙏🏻🙌🏻 17/08/18 - saw some weird marks on a leaf or two this morning and then later on it look like the pic above, it’s only happening on older leaves it’s not affecting any new growth, I’m out of grow questions so any help would be grear ✌️🏻 20/08/18 - just watered them with the above ☝️🏻 All looking good think I’m half way through the stretch so I’ve started to add some canna boost to the solution , probably gonna do some LST later on this week.
