🌱 Animal Mints — Week 6 From Seed (≈ Week 2 Flower / Pre-Flower Phase) Quick Recap for New Readers This run includes multiple Animal Mints plants, all treated similarly, but we’re mainly cataloging two reference plants to clearly show how timing affects structure and development: • Plant A → 12/12 from seed • Plant B → ~15 days under 16/8 veg, then flipped to flower Same genetics, same room, same feeding — different timelines. That’s the whole experiment. ⸻ Plant A vs Plant B — Why Two Plants? • Plant A (12/12 from seed) • More compact • Slower early structure • Responds very well to gentle leaf bending and light training • Still stretching and stacking nicely • Plant B (short veg period) • Bigger frame • More developed branching • Further along in flower at the same “seed age” • Took light cleanup / lollipopping better This small veg window made a huge difference in structure and flower progression, and that’s exactly why we’re documenting both. ⸻ ✂️ Canopy Work (No Heavy Defoliation) This week we did selective leaf removal, not a true defoliation: • Opened airflow and light paths • Removed shaded or blocking leaves • Light lollipopping on Plant B only • Plant A kept mostly intact, just leaf bending and spacing Goal wasn’t stress — it was space, airflow, and efficiency. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment Update • Day Temp: ~28°C (successfully raised) • Humidity: ~65% • PPFD: ~600–850 (depending on height & position) • CO₂: ~900 ppm (now stabilizing around 909 ppm) As outside temps stayed cooler, the room naturally became its own heat source: • Increased plant mass • Higher light intensity • Under-canopy lighting added No forced heaters. No extremes. Just letting the system balance itself. 🌬️ Airflow • Vortex extraction • Multiple cross-flow fans • Constant gentle movement No leaf chaos — just steady motion. ⸻ 💧 Feeding & Nutrition Strategy This week marks a clear transition phase. • EC: ~2.4 • pH: 6.5 (transitioning down — all feeds now 6.0+) Why Higher pH Right Now? As plants move into flower, nutrient demand shifts: • Better Ca / Mg uptake • Stronger phosphorus & potassium availability • Root activity increases Slightly higher pH at this stage supports structural growth and flower formation, especially under higher light and CO₂. Almost harvest time! One more week to go! I switched my light schedule from 20/4 to 18/6 for the last week. Leaves continue to die off and turn yellow. The buds are getting fatter. I am starting to see amber in the trichomes. I trimmed off the lower twig-like branches which contain popcorn nugs. I am going to feed her PH balanced water for the last week. This week was spent doing some needed cleaning and minor defoliation and start aiming towards flowering in the next week or so. I dumped all pots and wiped out as well as the resivoir and added fresh water and nutes to all the plants. While plants were out of tent I did some very minor defoliating as well. I picked up a few goodies this week. I noticed a fruit fly or two and decided to pick up an insect trap off amazon (let’s see how it works 🤞🏽). I also picked up a chargeable watering wand that is worth 3x its price for how easy it makes it to water/feed my plants. I just drop in in my 5 gallon bucket after nutes and pHing water and get to work without moving a single pot. Wish I got this sooner!

Update week 2 of Bloom

📅 Week 5 – Day 35 / FLO 7 BOX: 50x50 - lampa 100W 🌞 Temp: 26°C 💦 RH: 62 - 64% 💥 PPFD: 700 µmol 🌬️ VPD: 1.3 Both showed their sex on the same day, so it’s looking good – they’re developing evenly. I’m watering daily with 600–800 ml (5L pots), EC between 0.8 and 1.1.

Day 16: what is happening to my girl? Anyone knows?🤔 Day 17: Flushed them through with my solution mix to stabilize the ph in coco Installed my net today. I don’t really need it yet but it looks nice 😆🥦 Started with lst today Day 19: started to defoliate today, not much just 2/3 leaves each plant! Day 20: hey guys! Shit is about to go down!!!! Finally some work with the girls… I hate the early fragile days. As you guys can see I topped my girls, but hahaha I just noticed that I accidentally FIMed one plant😂 I love training my plants as much as possible. I will let them recover some days before I defoliat again. I defoliate all the way to week 1 in flower.

9/28 Week 5 and hanging onto veg by a "hair" She is transitioning so doubt the week will be veg for long we will see. Introducing Bloom tonight at 2.5ml/gal increasing from there till 50% 9/29 Still technically in veg as no colas are forming yet but any day now. Will continue to increase Bloom while decreasing Grow WHEN it looks needed. Currently 6ml/gal each of Grow and 2 ml/gal each of Bloom Next step will be 5 each of Grow and Bloom keeping that EC kind of stable. Update: Her stretch has begun so should be seeing some real changes now. 3 inches in one day. pics 10/1 Pic In transition fully, growth tips getting hairy and changing Few more days be in full flower The transition feed is as shown 50% grow and bloom 10/2 27" not quite into flower completely 10/3 dropping lights to 20 hrs she seems to healthier with that schedule Getting a little worried about her stretch, increasing Si 3 fold and dropped lights Hit 29 inches at lights on.

Day 106, 17th of November 2020: We need to say goodbye to her very soon. The judgement is harvest. Time has come and she is old enough to be cut. I have checked trichomes all good some days darkness and no more water also and she will be just outside on the table for some days. Really nice little plant not strong smell. I really wanna try the smoke the ratio 1:1 CBD:THC and only 7.5% CBD and 7.5% THC haha :)

This week we did a major defoliation and lollipop on the girls. We also switched to Bloom A & B with a PK booster 3ml/gal of each. Over all I'm excited to see as they just started flower and look amazing. I bumped up the co2 this past week up to 750ppm. I can't wait to see the flower progression through the next few weeks. Overall, I'm happy with the results!

Everything going nicely so far not much stretch after the first week and bud sites popping up everywhere. Day 66 - they were really bushy so decided to give them a lil hair cut, cutting away all the big fan leaves leaving all the bud sites. Day 68 - I fed them until run of today as going on holiday next week and have a pal sorting them out from Monday So far so good :) Will wait till end of the 3rd week and give them a little defoliation to improve air flow and light spread untill then there fed either everyday or every other day depending on when they need it.
