The temperatures, humidity, and watering volume(if measured) in grow conditions are all averaged for the week. The pH is soil pH. Any watering done by me is well water which is 7.6 pH and 50° F. Any listed nutrients are ml/gallon of soil. Using 7.6 pH well water creates challenges in keeping iron, nitrogen, and phosphorus available to the plants. This soil is recycled and had a starting pH of 7.3-7.5. I added Diamond Brand Ferrous Sulfate at the above listed rate of 2.5 ml/gallon of soil. I distributed these granules evenly across the top of the soil. Adding this amendment acidifies the soil and provides a readily available and lasting iron supplement during veg. After adding the ferrous sulfate some small particles were splashed onto the leaves by the rain. These particles burnt the leaves and are the dark spots you see in the photos. Those dark spots turned into tears in the leaves as the high winds ripped through them. The girls are showing a little excessive nutrient stress. I believe from the phosphorus in the Coop Poop. I've come to believe it runs higher than the advertised 4%. The higher soil pH exasperates this. As the ferrous sulfate works and these girls grow larger these issues will be solved. Day 1 we had cooler temps, overcast skies, and showers during the morning and night. These continued early morning day 2. Followed by sunshine after noon on day 2. Early morning Day 3 at 2-3 a.m. we had thunderstorms that produced strong winds and very heavy rain for almost two hours. Day 4, despite the 5% rain forecast, we had another thunderstorm producing heavy rain and strong wind followed by rain that evening. Day 5 the plants had a respite. We had lots of sunshine and a lite breeze to dry the soaked soil out. Day 6 we had more sunshine and breezy weather. Day 7 more sunshine and excellent cannabis weather, not too hot and not too cold. I didn't water these this week as the rain was more than enough. These girls are real tuff. The weather during their germination and first two weeks after planting was brutal. The high winds and heavy rain blasted the leaves and soaked the pots. These girls bent but didn't break. They look a little beat up from the weather, pH issues, and nutrients stress. This isn't ideal but in two weeks it will be a faded memory. Fastbuds can handle harsh outdoor conditions, minor user error, and still produce lots of beautiful buds. Follow and see for yourself.

I thought the ladies would have another 2-3 weeks left in veg, but started to notice pistils forming within the last couple of days. So flower will most likely start to begin within the next week, I’m guessing I may see a couple oz per plant come harvest day. Not bad for first time grow & using autos, from what I’ve heard a lot of people do not recommend learning with autos due to how quickly their state can change depending on what you do with them. There are some things I wish now I would have done a bit different within the last couple of weeks, I can’t help but wonder how much bigger they’d be if I did not do any defoliation at all. But I have been combating flies bad and made the call to defoliate mainly for that reason. Started to cut back on veg foods and introduce flower foods and sugars to their diet. Humidity levels still at a steady decrease, aiming to have humidity down in the 30s come flower time. Will be going on vacation for a week soon, so fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong. Will be having a good friend of mine come by every couple of days to FaceTime me and make sure everything is handled as well as possible when the time comes.

Week 9 of flowering, Day 92 = the smell is incredible a. the buds are smelling very sweet, and still growing very large b. we are in the home stretch c. the trichomes are very milky d. the DWC is half full of 1620ppm nutrients at 6.5PH, I am cutting it in half with Mineral Water to finish the maturing process e. stigmas are changing color very rapidly, and the smell is incredibly strong Day 93 - WOW! The smell is becoming very intense a. we do not have a carbon filter on this box as it is out in our barn, but holy cow when we walk about 5 meters from the barn we can smell it strong b. added 4L of mineral water to the DWC to cut the Ripen down c. the buds are maturing fast! this will be harvested around day 100/101/102 d. for this week we are moving light to 11/13 Day 94 - resin explosions everywhere a. the light switch always makes more resin appear, and causes white stigmas to turn pink/orange b. she has slowed down her drinking a bit c. tomorrow the DWC will be pumped out, and 10L of water with FloraKleen will be added for 2 days Day 95 - trichomes look wonderful! a. 100x microscope shows really nice trichome development, majority milky white, with some amber, a few clear which should go white/amber in the next few days, and while drying. b. installed FloraKleen at 3ml/L with 10L of mineral water, will keep FloraKleen in for 2 days, then remove c. the pistils are all turning red/orange and brown Day 96 - growing well a. the buds continue to fully mature, the pistils are changing rapidly, and there are very few clear trichomes anywhere I look b. she is drinking less and less, her life is coming to an end I see, i constantly remove dead curled up leaves from her Day 97 - maturing, and smelling awesome a. i uploaded a video of the buds b. the trichomes are all milky white, and a probably 5-10% amber, they are SO greasy! 26/09 The second week of vegetation has begun, the sprout feels super great, I buried it 2-3 cm, so it looks a little shorter. The buds are still growing and I have already discovered the first amber-coloured trichomes on Bruce Banner and S.A.D. #4. I think the harvest will be ready in 2-3 weeks. Until then, I will continue to observe the trichomes with the microscope.

Plants with more direct UV showed much more purple across all 3 plants. The data shows that the number of terpenes in dried Cannabis flowers increases with a “No Red” light treatment for the final three days of production. Based upon these findings, we feel confident in recommending a spectrum control program that eliminates red light output from fixtures for the final 72 hours of the Cannabis flowering cycle. Terpenes are aromatic compounds that give cannabis some of its most distinct aromas from citrus and berry, to more earthy tones. Many species of plants produce and emit terpenes in a diurnal, or daily cycle that is regulated by a complex web of signaling. There are also many plants that emit terpenes at night to attract nocturnal pollinators (Marinho et al., 2014346).
