These plants have been thriving this week. Roots are exploding and already filling up the bin sooner than expected. Plants have been β€œpraying” daily. Will likely be moving these into their forever homes (current culture buckets) before end of next week or at least split into 2 bins to give some space before topping. Have just been mooting levels and water temps throughout the week. Didn’t have to add or adjust anything as of yet. ph - 6.0 PPM - 375 EC - 750 Water Temp - 68*F Air Temp - 74 (Lights On) 68 Lights Off Humidity - 60% on average Notice a slight cal/mag deficiency (rust coloring on a few on the leaves) so added another 15mL to the bin just to be safe. I’ll also be painting the lid white and insulating the bin to try and keep the water temps around 68, the ice bottles are annoying to continuously change out.

Ok so it ends here. Loved this babies fron the begining. I was starting to have issues with neighbors about the smell so did the cut. I think not that far from point. Fresh weight Pheno 1: 322g Pheno 2: 288g Overall: 610g Hope like 180g dry.

I have finally realised that this experiment is horribly going side ways at the moment, however I wonder if it is due to the Winter season, growing outside or in my makeshift greenhouse, (when I say makeshift I mean, recycled plastic sheets, pallets, etc, I think all that aside, my forth cycle is going to memorable… currently I lack grow lights and fans, luckily I made my greenhouse self ventilate, though I am waiting for August(AwwDust) the windiest time in South Africa, if it remains standing and still self ventilating, I would consider it a victor.) growth would be slower than the warm seasons. To make conditions even harder, I do not have grow lights currently however an obstacle that I’ll correct, going for solar lights and solar fans, electricity tariffs are booming, luckily I use rain water stored in a 1000lt tank, no one is complaining water consumption, I feel like people don’t stress the cost of growing, if you don’t pay the bills and you want to become a grower, look for cheaper methods of growing, like for now… I am going to use the sun as my main light source, will get fans to induce positive stress.

Pics from day 68. Anyone know why the left side is so much more developed?? I’m beginning to think there is no way I’ll be able to harvest everything at the same time.. Took a week long vacation and had a buddy watching the plants for the last 7 days. Everything is still looking good. Back left has some slight lockout that’s occurred. I have cleaned all the salts out of the reservoir. Tomorrow will be a defoliation day on the right side of the tent.

Definitely some old school genetics with huge stacked nugs and a high leaf to calx ratio. The plant was a heavy feeder like a super beaver feeder. No matter what I threw at it the plant still wanted more. I saw others with the same problem with the same strain so it must be common. I think this plant would be a great outdoor plant it would have some 3-4 foot long solid nugs

Flipped these girls to flower on day 26. Most of them have been looking good and growing pretty fast. I topped off the reservoir and added a little maxibloom. All 8 plants are drinking a total of about 2 gallons of water per day now. I kinda slacked on training them this week, but I will try to get them spread out some over the next week. I have been pulling a few fan leaves from the bottom so they can get good air circulation.

Im so excited to see how these girls are going to turn out!! A plant with both standard cellular respiration (occurring throughout the plant, including leaves and stems) and adequate root respiration will have a significantly higher ATP throughput than one restricted to only general cellular respiration in a limited way. Cellular respiration is the fundamental metabolic process that occurs in all living plant cells (roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds) to convert glucose into usable energy (ATP). It requires oxygen and produces carbon dioxide and water as byproducts. Root respiration is not a separate type of respiration, but rather a specific instance of cellular respiration occurring in the roots. Roots absorb oxygen from the air spaces in the soil to fuel their energy needs. Roots require a substantial amount of ATP for essential functions like nutrient and water absorption, as well as growth and maintenance of their tissues. The primary form of respiration in healthy plant roots is aerobic respiration, which is highly efficient, yielding up to 30-38 ATP molecules per glucose molecule. Anaerobic Respiration (Inefficient): If roots are deprived of oxygen (e.g., in waterlogged soil), they switch to anaerobic respiration, which is far less efficient, producing only 2 ATP molecules per glucose molecule and also generating alcohol, which can be toxic and kill the plant. Therefore, a plant with healthy, oxygenated roots performing efficient aerobic respiration in addition to the rest of the plant's cellular respiration has a much greater overall ATP production and energy capacity. A soil without organic matter will generally have a low Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Biochar is often prized for its potential to increase soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), but this effect is highly dependent on the specific properties of the biochar (feedstock and pyrolysis temperature) and the soil type to which it is applied. High-ash biochars, especially those produced at lower temperatures and applied to acidic or sandy soils, can significantly boost CEC by providing abundant binding sites for cations like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). Biochar is more sustainable than typical organic matter for long-term soil improvement primarily due to its high stability and resistance to microbial decomposition, allowing it to persist in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years. This longevity provides a lasting positive effect on soil properties, particularly by increasing the cation exchange capacity (CEC) over time, while regular organic matter breaks down much faster. Biochar generally offers a much higher CEC than coco coir, though specific values vary greatly; while coco coir might sit around 40-60 cmol/kg, biochar can range from tens to over 200 cmol/kg, with sources like Acacia wood biochar or even coconut shell biochar often surpassing coco's capacity due to its porous structure, creating significantly more cation-binding sites for nutrients, making it superior for nutrient retention. Needs to be charged similar to coco but at a much higger rate. But shhhh.. It's a secret. Ancient biochar-rich soils in the Amazon basin (known as Terra Preta) provide evidence of carbon stability lasting over 500 to 2,000+ years. Recommend a balanced ratio of key cations, particularly calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K). A widely accepted general "ideal soil" cation saturation ratio is approximately 65-85% Ca, 6-12% Mg, and 2-5% K. That's roughly what I give mine. Can even add N in its NH4+ form

WEEK 10 - 25/9/2021 - 1/10/2021 30/9/2021 - No major issues these past week. Plant 1,2 and 3 responding really well to scrogging. The original purpose of the net was to support the buds actually. But since the net is in place, I thought it would make more senseΒ  to use the opportunity to bring the 3 plants to the same level as plant 4. Despite that, plant 4 still has trouble catching up and plant 1-3 just stretched like crazy. Plant 1-3 have started flowering and stretching. Not plant 4 though. No signs of stigmas yet. Weird genetics. Been having issues since germination. Major defoliation done for all plants. Sucker branches removed and LST readjusted. Complete res change done. 30 gallons of water mixed with the following: Liquid Silicon - 1ml/gal - 30ml Cal-Mag - 2.5ml/gal - 75ml Micro - 3.5ml/gal - 105ml Gro - 2.5ml/gal - 75ml Bloom - 3.5ml/gal - 105ml Hydroguard - 2ml/gal - 60ml pH - 6.12 EC - 1.21 mS/cm T - 24.5

I swapped over to organic nutes part way through this grow cocked up with the medium I used anyway she's doing alright and has produced some very nice solid buds

Flowering day 25 since time change to 12/12 h. Hey guys :-) . The ladies are developing more and more beautiful and fat week after week 😊. The tent fills up perfectly πŸ‘Œ. I removed the bottom shoots to allow the energy to flow to the top buds. This week it was watered 3 times with 1.3 l each (nutrients see table above) Otherwise everything was cleaned and checked.
