Hung up my new California Lightworks UVB supplement light. I think I originally hung it a bit too close (18 inches from canopy) based on the subtle color change in the leaves, so I raised it up to 24" above the canopy. I was most certainly skeptical, since this is my first time using UVB, but even over the course of its first week under the bulbs I've notice a visible increase in trichomes. Now I guess won't know whether or not this would have happened anyway, but the sticky diamond coated buds sure are making me smile. 😁

Semana 5 ( 05Nov - 11Nov)

Moving forward, blooming nice, this second gen is taking form and gaining weight. A few weeks and we will have a nice harvest. Tent is nicely populated and filled. Once i have setup the “semi scrog” it has conformed to it in a couple of days and did a massive difference. It really opens the canopy and create a huge surface to take advantage from the light as opposed to letting it go naturally. I’m defining the technique as semi scrog because i did not setup the net in a traditional early way knitting in veg... It was done later.

Plant 1 (84 days): 39,5g Got some pretty nice looking buds out of it, not very dense tho, left them to dry for around 12 Days, humidity droped below 50% during the day which kinda scared me but i think they turned out nicely Plant 2 (96 days): 65,4g Buds are way denser, removed the bigger stuff while it was still wet and trimmed the rest once it dried.

I guess I first have to extend a big thank you to James and the folks at RQS. The genetics of their “Northern Light” did not disappoint and this was a no fuss grow across all categories. This will be the only time you hear me refer to Northern Lights in the singular. It’s kinda like calling a “pickerel” a “walleye” - you just don’t do that up here😉. She took well to training, showed no signs of lockout or deficiency, and we were at the top limits of botanicare’s recommended feeding schedule the whole time. I’d call this typical NL - the scent wasn’t overly powerful, she grew somewhat squat and while I’m actually very surprised at the final weigh (thought it would be much less), the whole grow was typical of the strain in my experience. Possibly her biggest limiting factor was simply space constraints. The photos pretty obviously demonstrate that she got really crowded out by the neighbouring kush and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she’d have done a little better with some more room. That said, what isn’t “typical” are the effects. RQS touts this as a cup winner and I can see why. Had the opportunity to sample a little and WHOA! She Hits with a lasting, cerebral and euphoric effect that starts as a light, happy high. Not a crippling or dulling effect at all. Just everything you’d expect from a well rounded strain in general. Perfect. I almost wanna describe it as a classic sativa but I’ve been smoking nothing but a pure indica for so many months now that anything different is gonna feel that way 😂. I put my seeds germinated 3 days ago and everything went well, last night I transplanted them and small thumbs are already appearing. one plant still dont separate from the seed, I hope it doesn't affect the plant's growth and that it falls as quickly as possible..
