🍮 Chem Brûlée – Pheno A Week 9 | Small? Maybe. Beautiful? Absolutely. ❄️🔥 Welcome back to another week of the 8×8 Adventure! 💚🌱 And this week, Chem Brûlée Pheno A has something very simple to say: You don't have to be the biggest plant in the room to be one of the most beautiful. At approximately 126 cm, she certainly isn't the smallest plant in the garden. But she's also not trying to become the biggest. She's simply doing her thing. Growing. Flowering. Stacking. And increasingly covering herself in frost. And honestly... she's beautiful. 🍮❄️ 🌱 A Quick Look Back Chem Brûlée Pheno A continues to be one of those plants that has developed her own identity throughout this adventure. From the beginning, we've watched her establish a strong structure and gradually transition from producing plant architecture to putting more and more energy into flowers. Last week, we gave her a little selective cleanup. Not because the calendar told us to. Not because we wanted to make her look "perfect." But because some leaves had simply reached the end of their useful contribution, while opening a little space around the canopy made sense. And that's the approach we're continuing with. Read the plant. Respond to the plant. Then let her grow. This week, the result is becoming increasingly obvious. The plant is settling into flower. And the flowers are becoming the stars of the show. 🌸 The Flowers Are Taking Over This is where Chem Brûlée really starts to shine. The developing flowers are becoming much more pronounced now, with increasingly defined structures throughout the plant. Those beautiful white pistils are still reaching out from the flowers, but something else is becoming much harder to miss. The frost. ❄️❄️❄️ The resin coverage is building. Looking at the close-up photographs, you can see that the sugar leaves and developing flowers are becoming increasingly coated. We're still not at the finished product, of course. There is plenty of flowering time ahead. But we're definitely entering that stage where you can start seeing the plant's character developing through the resin. And that's one of my favourite transitions in the entire grow. Early flower is exciting because the flowers appear. Mid flower becomes exciting because suddenly you start seeing what those flowers might become. Chem Brûlée is entering that territory now. ❄️ Frost Is Coming If I had to choose one word for this week's photographic update... Frost. 😂❄️ The resin production is becoming increasingly visible, and the close-ups really capture it. Those developing flowers are surrounded by sparkling trichome-covered surfaces, while the pistils continue creating that beautiful contrast against the green foliage. It's still early enough that the plant has plenty of work to do. But we're getting the first real glimpse of what makes this phenotype special. And I have to admit... I could probably spend far too much time standing there with the macro lens looking at her. One photograph becomes ten. Ten becomes twenty. And suddenly I've been standing in the jungle taking pictures of one flower for half an hour. 😂📸🌿 But that's part of the fun. 🌿 She Doesn't Need to Be the Biggest One thing I really want to emphasize with Chem Brûlée Pheno A is that I'm not judging her against the tallest plants in the room. Yes, there are girls in the 8×8 Adventure who are taller. Some have stretched more. Some occupy more physical space. But that's not the only measurement of a successful plant. Chem Brûlée has created her own structure. She's filling the space she's been given. She's producing flowering sites throughout that structure. And now those flowers are developing beautifully. That's what matters. A phenotype doesn't have to win the height competition. She just needs to show us what she can do. And she's doing exactly that. 🔬 Her Structure Is Becoming More Interesting The further we move into flowering, the easier it becomes to understand the architecture she created earlier in the run. The branches are now carrying developing flowers rather than simply supporting vegetative growth. The spacing between the flowering sites gives us a good view of the individual structures, while the remaining foliage continues supporting the plant through this important stage. And this is where the earlier selective training and cleaning start making more sense. We're no longer trying to create the plant. The plant has already created herself. Now we're simply supporting the structure she chose. That's something I really enjoy about this run. The grower starts with an idea. The plant then says: "That's nice... but here's what I'm actually going to do." 😂 And our job is to adapt. ✂️ Selective Cleaning – Keep It Sensible The selective defoliation from last week has left the plant with a little more breathing room without compromising the healthy canopy. And we're going to continue treating defoliation as a tool rather than a scheduled event. If a leaf is blocking an important flowering site... we can remove it. If a leaf is damaged or no longer contributing... we can remove it. If a part of the canopy is becoming unnecessarily crowded... we can open it. But if a healthy leaf is doing exactly what we want it to do? Let her work. 🌿 There's no reason to remove healthy foliage simply because we're in flower. The goal is balance. Enough foliage to support the plant. Enough space for light and airflow. And enough openness to avoid creating unnecessary dense pockets around the developing flowers. It's a living canopy, not a haircut appointment. 😂✂️ 💨 Airflow & Flower Development As the flowers continue increasing in size and density, airflow becomes increasingly important. The room is carrying twelve different plants, and every phenotype creates its own microclimate. That's another reason I like keeping an eye on canopy density rather than treating every plant identically. Chem Brûlée has plenty of foliage, but we're keeping an eye on the areas where leaves and flowers begin getting too crowded. A little extra space can help air move through the plant. And as the flowers continue developing, that's something I definitely want. We're not trying to eliminate every gram of humidity from the room. We're simply trying to avoid unnecessary stagnant pockets around increasingly dense flowers. Healthy airflow is part of the overall strategy. 💡 Light – Give the Flowers What They Need The lighting setup continues providing the room with strong overhead illumination, while the additional inner and under-canopy lighting helps support areas that naturally receive less light. And Chem Brûlée's structure gives us plenty of interesting angles to work with. The developing flowers aren't all sitting at exactly the same height. They're distributed throughout the plant. That means the combination of canopy structure and supplemental lighting becomes particularly useful. The objective isn't simply: "More light." It's: "Useful light reaching as much of the productive plant as reasonably possible." And that's an important distinction. More isn't automatically better. We're looking for balance between light intensity, temperature, CO₂, nutrition and plant health. Right now, she appears very comfortable with the environment she's receiving. ⚗️ Feeding – No Need to Reinvent Anything The feeding strategy remains consistent with last week. We're continuing with: 🌱 Plagron Terra Bloom – 2.2 ml/L 🌱 Plagron Green Sensation – 1 ml/L 🌱 Plagron Power Buds – 1 ml/L 🌱 Plagron Sugar Royal – 1 ml/L With Lemon Kick / pH Plus used as required to maintain the target pH. Current solution: ⚗️ pH – approximately 6.0 ⚡ EC – approximately 2.0 mS/cm And once again, I'm not interested in changing something just because another week has passed. She's growing. She's flowering. She's producing resin. She's maintaining beautiful foliage. Those are all good reasons to stay consistent. The plants don't receive extra points for having their nutrient recipe changed every seven days. Sometimes the best adjustment is: no adjustment. 🌡️ Current Environment The room continues running with a remarkably stable flowering environment: 🌡️ Day temperature – 29°C 🌙 Night temperature – 25°C 💧 Relative humidity – 60% 🥥 Substrate temperature – 26°C 💦 Solution temperature – 25°C ⚗️ pH – ~6.0 ⚡ EC – ~2.0 mS/cm 💨 CO₂ – 639 ppm 💡 Light schedule – 12/12 ? Pot size – 15 L 💧 Watering – approximately 1.3 L/plant/24h The environment remains stable, and that stability is particularly valuable now. We're moving further into flower. The flowers are becoming denser. Resin production is increasing. And consistency gives the plants the opportunity to focus on development rather than constantly adapting to environmental changes. 🌙 Day vs Night One thing I continue paying attention to is the relationship between the daytime and nighttime conditions. We're running around 29°C during the day and 25°C at night, giving us a noticeable but controlled temperature difference. That daily rhythm is part of the overall environment rather than something we're looking at in isolation. Temperature, humidity, light intensity, CO₂ and plant transpiration all interact. And that's why I prefer looking at the room as a system. You can change one number and accidentally change several other things along with it. For now, the system is behaving nicely. So once again... don't fix what isn't broken. 📸 Behind the Lens This week's photographs really made me appreciate her. The wider photographs show the plant's overall structure. But the close-ups? That's where she really starts showing off. The developing flowers are becoming increasingly complex. The pistils are still beautiful and prominent. And the resin is beginning to give the flowers that characteristic frosted appearance. There are moments where I look through the camera and think: "Okay... now I see you." 😂❄️ That's what makes documenting a grow so rewarding. The plant changes gradually enough that when you see her every day, you don't always notice how much has happened. Then you compare photographs from previous weeks... and suddenly the difference is obvious. 🌿 My Little Jungle And honestly, I'm having an absolute blast with this run. There are twelve plants in there. Twelve different personalities. Twelve different structures. And now twelve different flowering stories developing in front of me. I walk into that room and sometimes feel like I'm Tarzan wandering around his little jungle. 😂🌿 Checking flowers. Looking underneath leaves. Watching the canopy. Taking photographs. Looking for anything unusual. And most importantly... learning. That's what this entire adventure has become for me. Every plant teaches something. Every phenotype gives us another comparison. Every week gives us another opportunity to adapt. And Chem Brûlée Pheno A is teaching us that beauty doesn't need to come from size. Sometimes it's sitting right there in the flowers. Covered in frost. Waiting for you to notice. 🔮 Looking Ahead The next week should be another interesting step forward. I'm expecting: ❄️ Increasing resin production 🌸 Continued flower swelling ? I'll clean selectively if the plant gives me a reason to. And I'll keep photographing her. Because at this stage, patience is becoming increasingly important. We've built the structure. We've established the flowers. Now we let Chem Brûlée put the work into them. 🍮 Small? No. Her Own Kind of Beautiful. That's probably the biggest message I take from this week. Chem Brûlée Pheno A may not be the biggest girl in the room. But stand in front of her. Look closely. Look at the flowers. Look at the structure. Look at the pistils. Look at that frost beginning to build. She's doing her thing. And she's doing it beautifully. There is no reason for her to compete with another phenotype. She doesn't need to be taller. She doesn't need to be wider. She doesn't need to stretch another twenty centimetres just so we can call her impressive. She's already impressive. Because she's becoming herself. And that's exactly what this 8×8 Adventure is all about. 💚 One More Week, One More Lesson Every week I become more convinced that growing is less about controlling plants and more about learning how to understand them. We create the environment. We provide the light. We provide the nutrition. We provide water. We make adjustments when necessary. But ultimately... the plant decides what she's going to become. Chem Brûlée Pheno A has made her decision. She's going to be elegant. She's going to be beautiful. She's going to build flowers. Seeds stared good after sitting in a glass of water overnight and placed directly in rock wool cubes in RDWC buckets. My 1000w MH HID is turned down to 600w and on a light rail mover about 24” above seedlings.

February 16, 2021 (Week 6, Day 43): Very nice canopies beginning to develop now. Growth sites are apparent and growing vertically. Had to slow Unknown 1 down just a little bit because it's outgrowing the other plants; brought branches down level with other canopies. I watered today with 4 liters per plant + 2ml/l pH Perfect Grow + 3ml/l pH Perfect Bloom + 1ml/l Cal-Mag Plus at 5.6 pH. Runoff sitting at a perfect 6.5pH and 900ppm. Loosened all remaining LST ties to promote upward growth. It's officially wall-to-wall leaves in here now. I hope there's lots of great growth this week so we can switch to flower soon! Turned down humidity again. Now averaging 55% rH and 74℉. Please feel free to leave any feedback! Since this is my first grow I want to make sure everything is looking right! Happy growing! 👻 February 17, 2021 (Week 6, Day 44): Saw between .5-.75" vertical growth over the last 24-hours. Canopy is coming along nicely. Everything is growing very evenly - I only had to adjust one branch to keep it in-line with the others. Hopefully they'll continue to grow even with each other. Medium is still very moist after watering yesterday. Gelato 1 seems to be drinking a bit more than the others, but I'll keep watering on the same schedule to promote adequate drying of the root-zone. Averaging 55% rH and 77℉. No other news today. February 18, 2021 (Week 6, Day 45): Another half inch of growth overnight. These ladies are trucking along and flowering is just around the corner. With this growth I'll definitely be switching to flower on day 50. Medium is still moist, lightly tilled topsoil. LST is holding down the main branches well while allowing a bit of stretch. Hopefully this progress keeps up! Averaging 55% rH and 74℉. February 19, 2021 (Week 6, Day 46): Growth on growth on growth. Plants tacked on between .75-1" of new growth overnight. Soil was bone dry this morning and pots were super light. Watered with 4l per plant + 3.5ml/l pH Perfect Bloom + 2ml/l pH Perfect Grow + 1ml/l Cal-Mag Plus @ 5.8 pH. Runoff sitting at 6.6 pH. The plants are starting to drink a lot and I barely got any runoff. I will add a quarter teaspoon of my Humboldt Nutrients Big Up flower powder to kick-start the plants and switch them to flower. I took four fan leaves off Unknown 1 as they weren't getting any light. Took all remaining LST ties off of Unknown 2 as it is lagging behind the others (as usual). Averaging 55% rH and 74℉. February 20, 2021 (Week 6, Day 47): Manifolding is coming along nicely. Defoliated bottom-most node on each growth stem on each plant. Soil is only moist after watering yesterday - these plants are getting thirsty as hell. Tilled half inch of top soil. Everything looks great today. The anticipation to switch to flower in a few days is killing me! Happy Saturday everyone! Averaging 55% rH and 75℉. February 21, 2021 (Week 6, Day 48): Another inch of growth overnight. We are up to 12" in total height now. Was aiming for about ~16", but since this is my first grow I am not trying to be exact, I just want to make sure these things fit in my tent after the flowering stretch. Everything is looking great for the switch in two days. Soil is slightly moist - tilled top half inch of soil. Adjusted a couple of branches on Unknown 1 to keep growth level. Plants are looking perfectly healthy! Gelato 1 is spitting out pistils and pre-flowers like she just can't wait to start. Smelling really creamy and sweet. Averaging 55% rH and 74℉. Nothing else for today. 😺 February 22, 2021 (Week 6, Day 49): It's the last day of veg! Plants will sleep at 8:00pm and wake up at 8:00am from now until harvest. Medium is quite dry but I will water tomorrow morning with my first batch of flowering nutrients. I'll use Advanced Nutrients Big Bud and Botanicare Sweet Raw for the first 4-5 weeks, and then I'll switch over to Humboldt Nutrients Big Up flower powder for the last several weeks to finish it off. I'll feed just a tiny bit of the finisher tomorrow to give the plants a potassium/phosphorus boost to induce flowering. Really excited for the next step in this process! Now I am trying to finish up my plan for drying and curing so I don't ruin all this work in the last week! Averaging 55% rH and 74℉. Stay tuned - the fun is just beginning! 👻

All our ladies are looking incredible so far, this is our week 4 of veg and we are giving these ladies a detox from their nutrients and in in exactly a week we will be upping their dosage back up and streching them further using our Scrog Net. Side note: we have Hindu Kush indoors and outdoors as well so it will be interesting to compare the end result. Happy growing everyone

Finally back to the garden after 4 weeks away. They were really in need of love by the time I got back to take care of the garden. BIG NEWS! Now running a California Lightworks Solarxtreme 500 as my main light. Will add a second SX500 light into the room once I start flower. Hit the LST on the again and just making sure they are getting fed and lots of love. Will have to push back my starting flower by another few weeks. See how the recover

No more yellow leaves spreading problem, it was the lack of nutrients for sure ! Thanks for those who helped me ! :) Something to consider for my next grow: I decided to grow 10 plants to get a chance to have a decent harvest as it is my first time but it takes too much space, I barely have room to move myself inside the box and the plants have less light. I also think it is the reason it's too hot inside the box, when the plants were small and the outside temperatures the same as today, it was was less hot. Next time, I'll grow like 5 or 6 but making them bushy as hell !!

Hi Friends, - Day 10 - 1st water change - One leaf looked a little crisp so we removed it and reduced the light from 24hr to 18/6 - Started to increase the nutrients and introduced florilicious - Healthy root structure - Beautiful fan leaves - Responded positively to some topping earlier this week and LST training -PPMs we’re a bit higher than the GH feeding chart suggested (500-600) ours read 720- not too worried at this point

Week 11 | Feb 5 - Feb 11 | Flower Days 36-42 Feb 5 - Flower Day 36 00:15 pre-top-off: pH 5.75 / EC 1.852. A touch high, but still controllable. After top-off it settled at pH 5.70 / EC 1.724. She was drinking around 1.5 L/day, and buds were clearly starting to put on real mass. The canopy still carried scars from the earlier incident, but the flowers themselves looked active and healthy. Feb 6 - Flower Day 37 00:15 pre-top-off EC hit 2.036. That was my cue to stop messing around with dilution. I did a full reservoir change, resetting the system cleanly instead of letting salt concentration creep. The new res went in at pH 5.74 / EC 1.614. She didn’t sulk at all, which was a relief. Feb 7 - Flower Day 38 Pre-top-off the numbers were calmer: EC ~1.500 / pH 6.18. After topping off with pH-adjusted water and letting it circulate, pH settled at 5.98. She drank less than a liter this day, but given stretch was over and the plant had just had a full res swap, that didn’t automatically worry me. Trichomes were becoming more visible on the sugar leaves - resin building, not just “hair.” Feb 8 - Flower Day 39 00:15 pre-top-off: pH 5.4 / EC 1.488. pH drifting down was a new pattern compared to earlier in the grow. After top-off it settled at pH 5.72 / EC 1.528. Drinking picked back up. That combination - falling EC with rising uptake - felt like the plant was properly feeding again. Feb 9 - Flower Day 40 00:10 pre–top-off: EC 1.532 / pH 5.6. After top-off it landed at pH 5.7 / EC 1.488. Stable, predictable behavior. No new spread of damage. Bud sites looked more “structured” now, and the smell was back to pungent and sweet rather than that old hay panic. Feb 10 - Flower Day 41 00:10 pre-top-off: pH 5.84 / EC 1.566. She drank about 2 liters over the last 24h, which was the clearest sign yet that she was working hard again. After top-off, 15 minutes later, she settled at pH 5.90 / EC 1.518. Then I did the big job: a major defoliation / cleanup. It was honestly a jungle down there and airflow needed help. I removed nearly all leaves with noticeable discoloration, plus a lot of shaded lower fan leaves that weren’t contributing. I left a few that were only slightly marked so I wouldn’t overstrip her. The difference was immediate: way better airflow, and more tops exposed properly. My fingers were ridiculously sticky afterwards and the smell was loud and pungent - and that was reassuring. Buds were clearly beginning to gain real mass. Feb 11 - Flower Day 42 00:13 pre-top-off: pH 5.88 / EC 1.608. This was the night I decided to do a tiny, controlled nutrient bump in the top-off water: 1 ml per liter each of Micro, Grow, and Bloom. After circulation it settled at pH 5.88 / EC 1.670 - exactly the outcome I wanted. Slight lift, no spike, no instability. This week felt like the real transition from recovery into bulk. The canopy still has scars, but the plant is behaving like a producer again - drinking, feeding, and stacking.

? Harvest Day: Sticky Broccoli Micro is Down! 🥦❄️ ​The day is finally here! After weeks of swelling, frosting, and fading, the Sticky Broccoli Automatic has officially been chopped. She was an absolute pleasure to run and put on an incredible colorful show right at the finish line. ​⚖️ The Harvest Stats: ​Wet Weight: We hit the scale at exactly 162.1g wet! For a micro run in such a small pot, I am absolutely thrilled with that yield. She packed all her energy into those dense clusters. ​Bud Quality: The density and bag appeal are unreal. She's rocking beautiful deep violet and purple hues under a thick, frosty blanket of trichomes, and the terp profile in the room right now is ridiculously loud. ​🚀 Into the Dry Room: She got a quick wet trim to remove those large, faded yellow fan leaves and is now hanging upside down in the tent. You can spot the DryRocket in the background getting to work and keeping the drying environment perfectly dialed in!
