Since Miley developed slight "serrated" edges on her leaves early in the week, I had to lower the DLI to 9.5. The span of her two leaves is now equal to her height. Throughout the week, she is being watered gently with a nutrient solution (EC 300). From day 8 onwards, Miley is exposed to constant, gentle air movement—provided 24/7 by a small fan positioned 70 cm away—to simulate natural wind and help distribute the heat from the grow lamp.

NOTES: First week of flowering: pH at around 5,8-6,0 and EC at 1,5. Day50 (5.12.) Day51 (6.12.) Day52 (7.12.) Just a light defoliation of lower leaves and I also pruned a few small nodes that didn't get any light. Day53 (8.12.) I filled the tanks to the top with fresh nutrient solution. I stopped using the root stimulator, otherwise same amounts of nutrients. Day54 (9.12.) Day55 (10.12.) Light defoliation and pruning, mostly on lower parts of plants. First time using pH+ on this grow, since it is mostly needed in flowering phase. On vegetation I've basically only needed the pH-. Day56 (11.12.) More light defoliating and pruning on bottom halves of the plants. Growth had basically exploded and I was therefore forced to defoliate under the canopy to improve airflow and to prevent moisture from condensating. Overall everything looks great!

Week 2 saw no significant growth above soil, but not to worry, this is the time when their roots start to explore their new bed. Once the roots have begun to explore their new home and establish themselves, then the growth above the soil should really take off! However, this does not mean everything is currently 100%. In fact, it has become clear to me that the spider-mite problem from my other room has carried over to these babies and must be addressed. Hooray. I decided to spray the plants with Organishield, an "EPA-Registered biopesticide that controls soft-bodied insects," according to Buildasoil. I used this mainly because it was what I had on hand, and I like that it is not hard on the biology in the soil itself. I did a foliar spray in the evening and really drenched them. I began by spraying the underside of all the leaves with the chapin sprayer, I literally sprayed each leaf, both sides, and made SURE I was giving them a solid cleaning. I wanted to leave nothing to chance, as these spider-mites have already been a headache. I also placed an order for Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew, which is a Spinosad-based insecticide. I'm hoping that by combining multiple sprays and then reintroducing more benificial predators into the beds, I can have a multi-pronged attack that allows me to fully eradicate the problem. The plants responded VERY well to the Organishield treatment, and I am confident that in the next week or two the bed will be healthy enough, and the canopy will be filled enough to flip to flower. Thanks for following and happy growing, everyone!

Day 33: What an amazing height and bud gain in just 3 days! Lady #1 is 67 cm tall now, her sister a tad smaller. Both still have a great color, and I dared to cur away just the lowest branches and leaves that do not look like they could gain height in time. Really enjoying this strain so far! At the end of their day, they are a bit dropping leaves, so clearly no hunger for more light. The impressive growth speed continued on their buds: Tallest lady at 70 cm now. Their next morning shows growth is still at an impressive 5 cm/day as lady #1 with her leaves erected again stretches now 72, the maximum of my previous growth. Pulled the lights as close as possible to the ceiling and hope they won’t make it much more than 1 m. I activated the Sansi 30 W folded wings LED to give them somewhat of a morning and evening light and to add some more light to their overlapping center branches in the middle of "their" day. Sadly that’s causing some interference to the timelapse videos, but I can’t say they’re perfect if it wouldn’t. Watching the timelapse video of day 34, I have the feeling the additional light rather irritates them. Maybe the interference is not only visible for electronic eyes. I’ll keep it off next day for comparisons. Day 35 shows stretch speed has reduced indeed and they seem to be concentrating on leaf and bud growth instead. 75 cm, so we are currently at "only" 3 cm/day. Watered them with a HPE/Bud growth mix again last night, about 1 l each. Well, forget my words about reduced growth. After they recovered during the night, we are at 77 cm for lady #1. Which measured at 78 with hanging leaves in their day’s evening. I must have missed a day number – day 36 concludes their 5th week. I gave them another 2 l of fertilised water each and will lave them for the weekend again. Video shows that growth concentrates now more on leaf and bud development than on gaining height. So I guess my 160 cm tent will be sufficient. For a moment I was worried, but it looks like stretch is over. Anyway, time to rearrange the camera next week. Leaves are running out of focus.

They are doing fine and are stinking nice. Smells like cookies rite now not sure if that’s gonna change! I didn’t take much off during the pruning process so whatever popcorn buds can be used in the press. Took clones and plant to use one as a Mom plant, wish me luck!
