Week 28/4 - 5/5

Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. so the development on this lady has been VERY slow and has made very little bud production at all she also did not really stretch out at all from flower her buds are at the same stage at week 7 then the blackberry was at week 2 really , she is showing nor has all her life of any deficiencies what so ever , she has stay very short and stocky with good leave production " before i defoliated she was a real nice little bush " she smell amazing and the only was i can describe it when i touch her sugar leaves is exactly like chewing on the lemon "yellow" skittles sweet so can see exactly where the name came from for this strain. she as you would expect has not been drinking a great deal and i am still able too only feed her 8 pint of feed per week where as her sisters are taking 14 pints , but other than her staying small and not wanting too really produce yet she has been easy too grow even for a newbie such as my self and has been trouble free ,

This week was absolutely torturous had an accident in which one of my plants was damaged fortunately I do not believe that all is lost I will just have to hold her back on sending her into flour with the rest until she is completely healthy I have sent one into flower a bit early just to see if I could and seems to be working swimmingly

Gold Sativa has been growing really fast. I had to take solution out of buckets right before update here. Was causing over watering issues with roots growing so fast. So providing more air space between basket, and solution. Should help her perk up a little more. This is my first run of photoperiods in DWC. I think I got most major issues resolved. Feb 6 They got last feed yesterday and for 7 days they will only get plain water, then chop chop Feb 6 Did some snipping of the dead leaves, just did second last water, one more in 48hrs, then 48 hrs darkness and she’s done… I’m thinking prolly 2 - 2.5 oz off these girls 🥦 PS: trying out 4 plants in 1.5 gal pots next instead of 2 plants in 3 gal. Got some signs of light stress via mid to late flower, so maybe 4 plants might help spread out the energy and increase yeild.

@MephistoGenetics, Hi all the happy people here in GrowDiaries. This is my second cultivation ever and it will be fun to try a bigger space than my closet grow. First, I'm just going to say I'm done with the construction of my new growroom. The room is 2.14 meters by 1.7 meters and has a ceiling height of 2 meters. It provides a floor area of ​​3.6 square meters. I use a 54 Watt Lightwawe T5 for germination and 2 Pcs 400 Watt HPS lamps. I have a channel fan that replaces the room air about 40 times an hour to get a comfortable environment in the room, the air enters a fresh air intake from the outside. So I've chosen my final 6! 4 are 7 days old and the other 2 are 6 days old! A little slower in growth for some but I put that down to me having them in coco to start and I'm inexperienced with coco and as soon as I switched them to soil they perked right up so I'll stick to what I know and use soil starter plugs or soil or even root cubes have done me justice in the past, I run my diffuser twice a day to maintain my 60-70% avg RH I started at 25% power on the light at 10" and slowly increasing the power to 50% at 10" above canopy! As I'm using co2 im able to put the light closer and raise the temps! I was using a heat matt but honest opinion I think they're a Hazzard in some way and not necessarily necessary! Just my opinion as I came across problems with the substrate being too dry sometimes! But I will keep them in these pots for about another 3-5 days and then transfer them into a bigger but not final pot for an avg of 2-3 weeks! Can't wait to be at the end of may! Want my babies to be all grown up now lol but thanks for stopping by and wish me luck on my journey 😊

I gave her a trim 3 days ago exposed as much productive bud sites as possible and just gonna watch her grow. some very smelly buds it will give me hopefully... The humidity is giving me no issue yet but i need to drop her some more trying for 30% ... Dinafem genetics are spot on very happy with this plant as my first grow..

Vamos familia, actualizamos la quinta semana de floración de estas Frosty tooth de Seedstockers, aplicamos varios productos de Agrobeta, que son increíbles para aportar una buena alimentación a las plantas. Temperatura y humedad dentro de los rangos correctos dentro de la etapa de floración. La tierra utilizada es al mix top crop, por cambiar. De 5 ejemplares seleccioné los 3 mejores para completar el indoor y trasplanté directamente a macetas de 7 litros, el fotoperiodo a 12/12, aplique una poda de bajos, se ven bien sanas las plantas, tienen un buen color y progresan a muy buen ritmo por el momento, las plantas ya empezaron a tricomar, una locura.
