This Xtrakush keeps surprising. What a vigorous plant it's a pleasure to grow. All week we've seen huge bud formation and shes filling out. Only the last day growth has stunted a little. I think it was heat and I was pushing the light to its max. She seems to recover and I might have lost a day or two of growth. Her roommate, the Orange Hill Special, outperformed her a little in bud development. It was my mistake and this sort is made to grow outdoors in N European conditions. When we push for the limit, it's logical we find or sometimes go over the edge. Thank you for checking in this week, Im getting more and more impatient to see these plants develop and the harvest. June 8: really cold here the last few days. Likely due to the heat dome now in SW states and Mexico. Overnight low of only 1 C tonight so the plants are indoors until conditions improve which should be soon. June 9: it wasn’t as cold as forecast last night and stayed above 5 C with lowest being two nights ago at 3.3 C. Watered with 26 C water this evening to keep it warm a bit longer but overnight temps should be fine again now and she’s outdoors full time now. June 10: watered this morning with first compost tea. Pic is from the evening and she’s looking really good. A few days ago I forgot to lower the pH of the city tap water and the biggest fan leaves show some of that pH swing damage. Oops. Looks good now though after the lazy compost tea. Lazy compost tea is compost, molasses, some coco coir and some Monster Maxx. Let sit overnight but not so long that it goes anaerobic. It should smell fresh not sulphurous. June 11: looks good after the compost tea. June 13: to get the stems growing apart in preparation for another round of topping, I supercropped both stems, taped with floral tape, and then tied down using pipe cleaners and paper clips on the edge of the grow bag. July 20: smoke arrived this morning to go with our heat wave. Awesome. Starting force flowering this evening. Will put plant in dark garage for 12 h darkness for a couple of weeks to initiate flowering. Already started flowering, but I really want to force it along to improve bud quality by having the buds ripen under stronger sun. In dark garage by 9 pm followed by 730 nm far red light and then out at 7 am. The far red light is a bloom booster because it initiates dark mode 2 h faster and is like getting a 26 h day. So, 10 h in garage plus 2 h from far red light is 12 h darkness and 14 h of daylight. Rock on. July 21: obvious stretch from overnight in the hot garage. Recorded as 14 h daylight with overnight temp listed as 24 C but it was easily 30 C when going into garage. Hot and smoky. Anyway, lots of misting and watering and seems to be doing great. Addded bloom nutes in top dressing at end of last week. July 22: still too hot but she’s still managing to grow. Now up to 40”. July 25: now 44” so four inches in three days. July 26: notably large stretch overnight probably grew another inch. This Blueberry Pie was always neck and neck with my other photoperiod, but she is pulling ahead in height now that flowering is starting. So far so good. Windy today and the plant was catching too much. Defoliated fan leaves in the middle so it’s not so much of a sail. Don’t really want o be removing fan leaves, but was best option. In ground or a bigger bag are not options so gotta make it work. Worth it to be able to move around in pursuit of direct sun. #seedsman420growoff #seedsmanseeds

Not much to report this week from the garden. All the plants received a top dressing of about 300ml worm castings and 80ml Dr Forest Organic 284 Bloom just before the start of week eight, and will most likely be their last feeding. The plants have stuck to the usual watering schedule of 2.5l every two days. The huge Wedding Cheesecake growing in Coco Coir appears to me to be showing signs of cal/mag deficiency so yesterday I top dressed with Cal/Mag again from Dr Forest Organics. Keeping humidity under 45% has been a battle well and truly lost this week, and has varied wildly and constantly between around 41% and 57% but has been most often found to be around 47%. The battle rages on. I have been defoliating once a week, mainly just removing stuff covering bud sites, and trichome production on all four Bruce Banners has really taken off. After only a fairly light defoliation session, my hands were so sticky they were almost glued together and I rolled all I could remove from my hands into a sausage and smoked it mixed in with my other stuff, but that was only about 1/2 to 2/3rds of what was stuck to my hands, and I have to wash my hands in isopropyl alcohol and soap and fairly liquid 3 times before the best part of it was removed.

Gorilla gorilla... my problem child. It has a mind of its own, doesn't want to fit the scrog, seems way behind on her roommates, and is so far a little bit of a disappointment. We will see where she will go, something smokable might come of it. So I defoliated a little, amended with solid nutes: worm castings, bone meal and some extra micro life. Over this, I poured feed, see the liquid feed schedule above. Overal this plant is cramping my stylo a little. Again enforcing my resolution to only grow top genetics, it costs a lot of time and I have only so much space within the legal framework, why bother with inferior strains? We shall see where she takes us... For now, still not impressed much. See you next week!! Hug Bud

4/5 - 4/11: I believe I gave her the last swap of nutrients she'll require this week, probably will be starting to flush sometime within the next week - week and a half. I really didn't expect the buds to get as big as they did in the end considering the plant grew alot denser on one side for some reason. In all the buds on the plant are huge all around and the only popcorn nug that I had picked off of it was during my defoliation in week 8. And you can see that all of the buds are pretty much the same size besides for Mr. Maincola.

Rainbow Sherbet 1# Day 77# Rainbow Sherbet 2#Day 75# On rs2#, during the storms, one branch at the very bottom broke, it grew like this, I didn't want to tighten it, it will probably break already during the next storms, but nothing serious. Today is the end of the eleventh week for the plants. There were storms all week and with the fact that they spent almost the whole week under stress (they were also under heat stress a couple of days before), I am certainly satisfied with the progress. On Tuesday, they were watered for the last time, with clean water, then it rained, and the next day it rained all day, since then they have not been watered, as soon as the soil dries I will feed them. Below in the table is the food that they received last time, but it is included in this week, and I introduced that as well. Stay High and Keep Growing!!!
