easy to grow. givs good and heavy buds. i was smoking it before harvest. if i didn't smoked it i think i could have 200+ grams of wet bud.

Start of week 3 is going very well. Plants look super healthy and have responded well the some LST. Watering every other day and feeding with FoxFarm Big Bloom twice a week.

New update on week 2; things are going well so far, transplanted the seedlings to 0.75l pots with 60% coco-coir, about 30% worm castings, and perlite. I've also added some nutrihemp (about 12gr) which is a earth organic fertilizer containing some micro-nutrients and seaweed minerals. Keeping a average humidity around 60-75% by a wet towel underneath the pots, temps are nice and stable between 19 to 22C (66.2F - 71.6F). Also slowly started on nutrient feeding. Received a message that my R-DWC (hydro) has been dispatched, along i ordered 5 huge 200mm ceramic air stones for maximum dissolved oxygen. I am thinking to switch to LEDS soon, stay tuned.

Bang on week 5 for the gummy buns. Really impressed by these girls the structure the rate of growth there looking by far the best of the bunch, Iโ€™ve got 1 mutant and the other 5 are looking pretty sweet. Just carrying on with tying the branches down so each bud site gets enough room and light for flowering. All in all looking good and the most forgiving of the bunch at the minuteโœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿผ

Turned light to 12/12 start week 6 day 35. Defoliated the central cola's to allow the sides to catch up. She's stretching fast at the moment. I'll start feeding her from week 7

All looking a little bit sick this week bit root bound in those tiny cups I think. I've repotted into 3.5 litre pots see if they perk up be under 600w hps next week so they shold shoot right up in no time

It has been another amazing week of the plants growing. I have been watching as the Fruity Freak leaves become progressively more fern-like, and ornamental as a result! Based on my Banizzle grows, I knew I needed to understand plant nutrients in a more meaningful way if I wanted these plants to thrive. So, I decided to get a soil test (see Ref. 1 below on how to perform a test) to understand what nutrients my plants needed. The report I received advised that I needed to add 200 lbs/acre of nitrogen, 150 lbs/acre of phosphorus, and 190 lbs/acre of potassium (see picture labeled Pic.1 (FYI you can't see these images unless you login to growdiaries)). I then researched what to do with my results (Ref. 2 helped), and I figured out that my nutrient needs of 200-150-190 fall close to a 2-1-2 ratio. I then looked at different types of organic fertilizers (see Ref. 3 and Ref. 4) and considered that I already had a 3-10-5 fertilizer (Vermibloom) on hand. I discovered Dr Earthโ€™s Alfalfa Meal is 2-1-2 and includes beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizae (to promote healthy plant growth and disease resistance). However, I knew I would be low on nitrogen if I only used those two fertilizers. Therefore, I decided to buy some blood meal (12-0-0). I also liked that blood meal is more fast acting while the other two are more moderate. I hunted around for a solid fertilizer calculator and found an amazing tool from the University of Georgia Extension (Ref. 5). I entered all three fertilizers into the calculator, and it kicked out the exact amount of each fertilizer I needed to apply to 1 square foot (see Pic. 2). As I am using 10-gallon fabric pots (that can hold 1.5 cubic feet, but I put stone on the bottom and thereโ€™s space left at the top) I decided to use the one square foot application rate as I can always add more later, but I canโ€™t take it away. Not only did I want to understand the nutrients I needed, but I also wanted to understand the structure of the soil (as it was not included in my test results). North Dakota State University has a nice page that discusses this (Ref. 6), and I performed a soil ribbon test (see Video 1) based on this information. I determined my soil to be medium textured (which is great), but I have seen occasional water pooling on the surface, suggesting that it may be more of a medium-fine. This means adding peat moss, coco coir, or other amendments might improve drainage (and plant hydration) and allow for roots to grow more easily. In the long run, I plan to use compost to enhance the soil structure and nutrients. I filled the bottom of my 10-gallon fabric pots with a ยฝโ€ of pea stone to allow for drainage (Pic. 3). I then partially filled two 5-gallon buckets with topsoil from near where I will plant (but not in an area the roots will reach). I used a digital scale to measure the amount of fertilizers recommended by the calculator (Pic. 4, 5, and 6) and added it to one of the 5-gallon buckets (see Pic. 7). I mixed the fertilizers into the soil as evenly as possible (Pic. 8 and 9). I then poured a two-inch layer of non-fertilized soil, then peat moss, and then fertilized soil (in a roughly 2:1:1 ratio) and blended them together. I repeated this until the pot was full (getting additional soil as needed), and then I repeated the process for the other three pots. I set the filled fabric pots in my garage (Pic. 10) for two days to allow any upset bugs to flee into my garage instead of my house. I then moved the pots (wrapping them in a contractor garbage bag to prevent making a mess) into the room with the grow light. I placed a board on top of the fabric pots to insulate the plants (in their smaller pots) from the cold soil (Pic. 11). Once the soil in the fabric pots reaches room temperature, I will transplant. I didnโ€™t have a field to test, so I took four samples from the area where I will eventually plant outdoors and blended them together. Just got back from a 10-day vacation and the Gorilla Melon has completely lost its mind! The AutoPot system worked flawlesslyโ€”the reservoir ran bone dry literally right as I walked through the door, so talk about perfect timing. The girl absolutely exploded during the summer heatwave and turned into a massive jungle monster, to the point where sheโ€™s literally knocking on the ceiling fan. The thrips are still a problem, though. The green lacewing larvae did not win the war while I was away. I will need to cut some leaves that don't look good and do a major cleanup. In just a few minutes, Iโ€™m taking the trimmers out to hack about 50 cm off the top to control her height and completely strip the bottom third for some fresh airflow. But overall, we are still in a good mood. Time to shape her up!

Her final week of flowering start of week ten of flowering will be chopped next Tuesday then I'll post final results. I'm praying for 8 zips I really would like to break my record my biggest autoflower haul has been 7.5 zips dry! Second being 6 and then 5 and half. My average is 4 zips while minimum 1 zip. This girl was hard to keep up with feeding. I was watering it everyday for the last 3 weeks believe it or not. Biggest auto grown wide as fuck. Lst to perfection. Idk what else to say one happy auto grower as always :)

Two phenotypes - one purple and one white/green. The purple was very difficult to train and resulted in a couple inadvertent breaks - luckily it was repairable. The other trained very well, very flexible and worked very good for SCROG. Both produced heavily and are beautiful. The purple tends to be much more fluffy, with very long pistil hairs - the longest of any grow I have done. The white was super dense, very crystally and sticky. It will be very interesting to see how they smoke. Also, the purple tended to do very well with some nute mistakes I made as well as fluctuating pH in my water feeding. The white did not do as well in this regard but was able to get to harvest fine. Wet bud weight is prior to trimming. The buds off of these plants were HUGE!!!! Plant #1: (Purple): Wet weight - 76.58oz prior to trim; 15 colas; Terps: White - 60%, Clear - 20%, Amber - 20% Plant #2: (White): Wet weight - 71.65oz prior to trim; 16 colas; Terps: White - 70%, Clear - 30%, After 3 days of drying, took them down to trim for my jars. After a few hours filled mostly quart jars 3/4 full but also tried an Infinity jar and a gallon mason jar to minimize the number of smaller jars. Dry weights into jars: Plant #1: 14.79 oz Plant #2: 11.76oz I did pull them after a day to dry rack them for 12 hours due to a little bit higher moisture content then I would have liked ( 70%rH). Re-jarred on 6/1/23 and now holding steady at around 60% rH. Cure Check In (Week 2): 6/10 - 6/12/23: rH ~ 63 - 66%. Daily air exposure & fanning. Very smelly. Looking good - another couple weeks and will be ready.

Flowering day 42 since time change to 12/12 h . Hey guys :-) A lot happened this week :-). The buds develop really nicely . The scent wafts through the whole room when I open the tent ๐Ÿ’š. This week was poured 3 times with 1 l each (nutrients see table above) This week there was the maximum amount of fertilizer, which will be slowly reduced from next week :-) .
