Germination

gr3g4l Good afternoon. I'm starting a new follow-up on a couple of interesting crosses from @xmackobox, the breeders still unknown. xd. I'll update this information as I get it. After 63 hours of germination, I moved them to substrate. The HoneyBanana x Spritzer that germinated well will stay indoors for a month growing, and then in April, when the weather should be better, it will go outside and stay there until September.

gr3g4l Due to the lack of Allmix substrate, which will be used in this grow, I transferred them to a seedling substrate from Batlle along with a watering using root stimulator. Under LED, MarsHydro TS600 100W 18/06h.

gr3g4l After a few days and seeing that they were starting to demand a bit more, I did a first transplant to 1 L with All-Mix substrate. With the seedling substrate, they couldn't stay in there for many more days.

gr3g4l This week we've given it a bit of a boost with the Hemplex. At the end of the week, I transplanted them into 6L fabric pots and moved them to the cabinet with the Lumatek at 50%. 150W, at a distance of about 50 cm. In a day or two, I'll raise it to 75%, 220W. I give them a day or two at 50% to help them get used to it.

gr3g4l This week it was time to prune the apical shoots and the first node, leaving only 4 nodes per plant. It seems they tend to have large leaves and short internodes. This week I also increased the power of the lumatex to 75%, about 220W. I started with 100W, then it went to 150, and now 220, and so on until I change the photoperiod to 12/12h. Then at 100%, 300W. At 26 days old, they already had enough nodes and branches, so I had to do the apical pruning and the first node pruning on all of them, leaving 4 nodes per plant and 8 secondary branches. We ended the week with number 5 having very ugly spots on the leaves. I understand I have to treat it differently from the rest, so I will water it less and let it dry more between waterings at least a couple of times.

gr3g4l We started the week with 36 days of life with a second low pruning, the second node. 41 days were more than enough, the plants looked good and covered the space sufficiently. Let some air flow because in a few days that will be well covered. I took out the humidifier and changed the light cycle to 12/12h.

gr3g4l The LEDs at 100%. 300W. In a couple or three days, the ones that seemed like they should be bigger were surpassed by others that were growing more slowly. Had to fill the pots. This week, the pre-flowering was very noticeable; they grew quite a bit. The plants started to timidly show their first pistils.

gr3g4l At the beginning of the week, they were taken out of the closet due to the blackout, which possibly made the plants grow or stretch a bit more than they had been. This week, the start of flowering was clearly noticeable, and the plants filled up all the space; there's hardly room for a pin now. In a few days, 11-12 days, I will do a lower trim of all the secondary branches, leaves, and buds so they are ready to finish flowering. D9 foliar In 14 days, a small trim of some lower branches, the first ones. Just a little bit so I don't stress them too much, and in a week, at 21 days, I will finish emptying whatever is left at 12/12h.

gr3g4l A week of raising the LEDs to keep the same distance between the tops and the LEDs. By the end of the week, I had to remove the bases since I was running out of space. I understand that due to the indica genetics these plants have, they won't take long to stop growing wildly and will soon dedicate more energy to fattening the buds.

gr3g4l At 22 days, I did a final pruning; after this last pruning, only a few old leaves will fall off. Good weather is starting, and it's time to remove the fan I had above the Lumatek and replace it with two smaller ones, focusing directly on the tops.

gr3g4l It looks like they'll have plenty of trichomes, so I don't have to worry too much about this. The smell, along with the trichomes, is getting better and better, and there are more trichomes visible. This week, they stopped growing like they used to and focused more on fattening the buds. All the branches were tied to the supports so they don't bend when the buds swell.

gr3g4l This week, you can already start to see clear differences in the formation and maturation of the buds and how they just keep getting fatter. The outside temperature keeps rising, making my work quite difficult, and I'm really worried about the appearance of the red spider. Only one preventive treatment was done, and it probably wasn't enough. There's a month left until harvest, and if things keep going like this, there's no one who can stop it.

gr3g4l this is coming to an end. Next 3 or 4 waterings will be just with water and in about 10 days, the harvest. From what it seems, these varieties must have quite a bit of indica content, the Project ones a bit more than the bananas. The white stigmas have stopped appearing and are mostly gone or a bit toasted now, this can't give much more than this.
