Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. Woche 4 beginnt Etwas zu nass. Die Umstellung von Floragard Growmix mit organischer Flüssigdüngung auf Herbis Livingsoil ist immer noch herausfordernd speziell in den noch kleinen Töpfen, ansonsten stand die vierte Woche ganz im Zeichen der erfolgreichen Etablierung im neuen Setup (Neues Zelt, neue Beleuchtung neuer Topf (3l Stoftopf) mit neuem Substrat. Das strategische "Tiefersetzen" aus der Vorwoche war ein voller Erfolg: Der Stamm hat enorm an Stabilität und Dicke gewonnen. Die Pflanze steht nun völlig eigenständig und kerzengerade, ohne dass sie gestützt werden musste. Die gewonnene Energie wurde direkt in das Wachstum der Fächerblätter investiert, die sich aufgespannt haben, um die Lichtintensität im neuen "Vegi-Palais" optimal auszunutzen. Keine Anzeichen von Lichtstress jedoch ist das feuchte managment im ungewohnten Substrat ist noch verbesserungsfähig.

It’s warming up outside so the a/c and dehumidifier are working a bit. Got the lights on during the night so just a few hours at lights on they work a bit hard. Cleaned up underneath removing any sucker shoots and leaf that was near the soil. Not much really. Mostly on #3 as I didn’t train out the branches as much and she grew tighter together, so I removed mostly all inner growth blocking light and that allowed a lot more penetration and flow. Left a few leaves below to die off naturally…more the better. Gonna put some Grub Grenades in the pots with some yellow sticky cards. Not because I see anything, just being cautious. I do see what looks like Springtails but don’t seem to be an issue yet. Still looking green and healthy so I’m happy! Grow on! Update Made a few adjustments. I let the tops grow into the tsw2000, 18” to tops. I didn’t like how they looked so I raised it back to 24” where I’ll keep it. The “Kind LED” I know from previous grows that it can’t get closer then 24”. But this is my first run with “Mars” so I’m still figuring out the distance for my setup with additional overlapping light intensity from other lights. With that being said another pod failed so I’m down 2-Kind LED’s now. Gonna remove all old tech and use all newer TS series lighting. All Mars moving forward. Seems to be a great light and when compared to other quality lights you can’t beat the price!

And they are getting closer and closer to harvest day, but not there just yet for my taste, wen looking from far they look ready but wen looking closer one can see that they still need a week or so. Day 74 on this RUNTZ cut i selected from a previous run, i think this will be her last video update since she is getting closer to harvest day. And she, like her mother did, is growing amazing the smells and bag appeal is enormous and like i was in love with her mother, the same happened with her, man i miss my sunset walking in the woods and the mix terpenes that she releases in to me that are exactly or very close to mother nature ones in my golden hour walk … even wen medicating myself at home, she takes me back there and fell like i am breaking fresh pines smashed with a rock and eaten in the moment. ------GENERAL COMMENT------ We arrived pass mid flowering as we are now starting week 5 of flower. No issues, bumped up a bit the Sensi Bloom to 2.5 after 3ml, and have seen the girls darken a bit, so i decided to go down a bit to 2ml this week, maybe stick to this dosage depending how the girls react. The tent have become small for or two ladies, no way to train them more, there is no space. Decided to move forward without a mid grow flush. Still on the 1.5l of water every other day, one base + recharge + pk booster, other with pk booster + natures candy + velokelp alternating. Today was the last Pk booster - Big Bud dose, now we will cut the Big Bud and enter with the Overdrive, the rest will be as is. ------SM.BB COMMENT------ The blueberry is darker than the AK, presenting no signs of overfert, tips are ok, and no spotting, buds are becoming fat and resinous.
