High-ash biochars, especially those produced at lower temperatures and applied to acidic or sandy soils, can significantly boost CEC by providing abundant binding sites for cations like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). Biochar generally offers a much higher CEC than coco coir, though specific values vary greatly; while coco coir might sit around 40-60 cmol/kg, biochar can range from tens to over 200 cmol/kg, with sources like Acacia wood biochar or even coconut shell biochar often surpassing coco's capacity due to its porous structure, creating significantly more cation-binding sites for nutrients, making it superior for nutrient retention. Needs to be charged similar to coco but at a much higger rate. But shhhh.. It's a secret. Recommend a balanced ratio of key cations, particularly calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K). A widely accepted general "ideal soil" cation saturation ratio is approximately 65-85% Ca, 6-12% Mg, and 2-5% K. That's roughly what I give mine. Can even add N in its NH4+ form

This plant way outgrew my expectations!!! She was trimmed back to nothing, and still could've used a better trimming.

9/8/2024 day 1 of veg. looking happy and healthy. im dealing with fungus gnats from other plants in the tent. i think the peat pellet wrapping is keeping them from damaging the young roots at the moment. im using diatomaceous earth in an attempt to keep them at bay. 9/11 day 4 theyre starting to show small differences. excited to see where these 9/12 so far im noticing one plant that stands out from the rest. she has longer petioles than the rest and seems taller and lankier. its still early on though so hard to say anything yet for

1/19/25 checked trichomes again. we are at the end of the grow, will be setting up my drying area. the conditions are not prime right now in my house. its cold and dry. humidity is 30-40% will be harvesting soon. #1 is about 30 amber and 70 cloudy trichomesv #5 is about 10 amber and 75 cloudy and 15 clear will update with harvest date and pictures 1/21/25 #1 chopped and hung 1/23/25 #5 chopped and hung 1/25/25 been able to keep the humidity around 60% but not above. i have a hygrometer hanging next to the plants around the height of the buds. its quite a ghetto set up considering i couldve just used my aci humidifier with the sensor probe. coming to the end of these plants feels bitter sweet. i feel like ive been growing these plants for a year lmao. i may try to reveg plant #5. even tho shes the most visually stunning she also seems to have very minimal

This week went very well, she is still stacking on flowers, and Piglet is now being fed about 5 gallons per day, with about 1 gallon of runoff, she feeds five times per day, every 3.5 hours with lights on, and then once in the middle of the dark period. She is still just being fed Armor Si, CaliMag, powder Maxi Bloom, and a PK liquid bloom booster. I use the runoff mixed with dehumidifier water to feed my tomatoe plants, and they absolutely love it. I have found that using dehumidifier water in a reservoir leads to funk within only a few days, even when using food grade Hydrogen Peroxide, so I only use it for instant feedings and for the tomatoes. I am still cleaning the reservoir once per week just to keep her and the pump/lines in good shape, and it only takes me about 10-15 minutes per week. I also added another bag of CO2 inside the tent and have a bag sitting in front of each air intake screen, as well as one hanging about the plant., I have also added several tubs of mushrooms growing both inside and outside the tent, with a breather on each one, so she is getting plenty of CO2. The heatwave is over for now and weather looks great for the next 8 days. I am estimating that she has about 2 weeks left to stack flowers, and then 2 weeks to ripen, so I am hoping to harvest her around the end of June but will have to wait on the trichomes to be sure. I plan to flush her for about 4 or 5 days before harvest with just plain water. Overall, I am very impressed with Ethos Genetics, and I now understand why everyone was recommending them to me when I wanted to try a photo period plant. Started off cloudy then started to warm up late in the week hit the 90F range. Gave the plant a good watering on day 57 and also day 63 after taking the pictures for that day. 😍

Okay, here we are on day 7 officially done with the first week, and so far so good.. Last attempt I use reused soil, which is why this diary is called redemption runtz .. i just gave a very minimal feeding and only went around the edge of the pot so the roots have to go searching.. A busy week here in the tents. The fated week of defoliation and lollipopping. Took off a large amount and got them ready for the next six weeks. I'll only be watering and defoliating from here on our so the girl should be on autopilot. She started the frost here in week three. ❄️ Thanks for stopping by!

What an absolute experience growing this plant!! She didn't get to be the biggest as I gave her unnecessary stress in her early week. I forgot that I treated the medium before planting, and I watered with normal values. This causes nutrient lockout which took 2 weeks to correct, which then stunted her growth. 5L also battled deficiencies after flushing to correct the lockout. she was knocking on heaven's door for weeks, and she still produced some beautiful buds! Once that was fixed, she flourished really well!! she showed beautiful colour on the buds. nice and dense. sweet herby scents coming from this plant! She took big feeds, and tolerated high nutrients in flowering too. 10L plant will be cut down in 2 weeks!! No mould, no pests, no mildew. what a plant!!! I have 3 more of these beans, and i really want to run them again!!! 13/12/23 Dry weight is in. she managed to produce an ounce, 28g exact! plus all the tester nugs i've...tested. 14/12/23 10L strawberry pie has now also been cut down!! this plant was my sleeper!!! she grew so well, beautiful colas, thick nugs, full of resin!!! 331g wet weight. I think this plant will yield as much as the three other plants combined!!! LST was a great plus on the 10L pot! 7 day dry should do the trick!!

W9- Light 20/4 I will apply nutrient for last time. After this week I’ll start flushing. 1-2 weeks to harvest. They smells good same as i bought from my dealer😂 🍀🍀🍀
