Veg stage week 5

Both outdoor autos hit full mid-flower stride this week, stacking steadily and pushing out stronger aromas with each warm afternoon. Nice Cream continued swelling along every branch, its buds coated in a fresh frost of trichomes and exuding a creamy berry scent with faint rubber notes typical of the strain. The canopy stayed lush and evenly colored with no major fade or stress. Tiger #2 developed a dense, compact structure with heavy pistil coverage and a distinct sweet grape-candy aroma beginning to dominate. The smaller pot required slightly more frequent watering but kept pace in flower production. By the end of the week, trichomes were mostly clear with early cloudiness forming, signaling the start of late-flower swelling as both girls prepared for their final push.

The seed popped out of the soil at day 4. Day 6 she had her helmet removed with some assistance. Day 7 she shows 3 leaves, I’m guessing 1 didn’t make it do you the shell staying on too long, but this has happened before, so no worries! She will be moved to veg tent as soon as she does some stretching.

Finally she has shown some signs of flowering. I thought that she would stay short, because i accidentally broke her in half. But she survived and grew much bigger than i even thought she would. The main cola, that i broke is the biggest of them all 😁 Other than that everything looks nice. No signs of any kind of dis balance ✌️

Eternity Grow Cup - Week 11 VEG Report This is a pivotal week in our Eternity Grow Cup journey as we wrap up VEG and prepare to transition into FLOWER. Our goal has been to ensure that the plants are thriving and optimized for the next phase. This report will detail everything that took place during this crucial week. Mass Defoliation & Structural Training We began the week with an extensive defoliation session. Every leaf with a stem was removed to clear space for optimal light penetration and airflow. This process was done mostly by hand, clicking them off in the opposite direction of growth, while some stubborn ones were snipped with scissors. By the end, it felt like we had taken out nearly half a kilo of leaves! The room now looks clean, structured, and ready to fill out the ScroggNet. To further enhance the plant structure, branches were attached to the pots, allowing for better horizontal growth. This technique helps maximize canopy exposure and prepares the plants for even light distribution once flowering begins. Defoliation before flowering is a key step as it reduces overcrowding, improves airflow, and sets the plants up for efficient energy use in the next phase. Light Schedule & Adjustments This week, we introduced a subtle but effective light adjustment. While still maintaining an 18-hour light cycle, we initiated a 15-minute delay with the whites, allowing the reds to start first. This gradual shift signals the plants that a change is coming. Similarly, at the end of the light cycle, the whites turn off 15 minutes earlier, leaving the reds on for an extended period. This strategy mimics natural sunrise and sunset, helping the plants transition more smoothly into flowering. Additionally, at the end of the week, we will be implementing 48 hours of darkness before the official flip to flower. This method has worked exceptionally well in past grows, helping plants recognize the transition and encouraging a strong start to flowering. However, it's important to emphasize that this is a personal technique and not a universal rule. Every grower should experiment with different methods to find what works best for their specific environment. Environmental Conditions & Challenges Currently, our temperature is at 27°C with 60% humidity, resulting in a VPD of 1.50. While slightly higher than the ideal for VEG, our CO2 levels are over 1000 ppm, and the light intensity is at 570 PPFD, making it a manageable balance. The solution pH is 5.79 (essentially 5.8), EC is 1.38, and water temperature is 17.7°C. One challenge we are facing is maintaining optimal reservoir temperatures. Currently, it's a bit low at 17.7°C, and we are exploring solutions to raise it slightly. However, the medium temperature sits at 22.2°C, which is a good range. The humidifier is still in use, though it struggles to increase humidity further, so we are working with what we have to keep the VPD in check. ICL-300s Integration The ICL-300 lights are now fully active. Unlike the last grow, where we introduced them later, this time they are on from the start of flowering prep. This adjustment is an experiment to see if the plants respond better to an early introduction. Learning is at the core of this journey, and each grow offers new insights. Whether this proves to be the optimal strategy or not, it will be a valuable lesson for future grows. This is my first grow getting back into it after a 25 yr absence.

They are getting nice and stretchy. Can see some interesting growth traits between then all. Tent is a bit to crowded for my linking but they are 8 plants crammed into a 2x4 so don't know what I was expecting. They are doing well and next week I will be getting a buddy to take care of them so curious to see how they look when I get back. Made it stupid simple and feed them a bit more this week in hopes the remainder will carry on over to next week and be fine. Might also mix a bit of amendments into the stop layer so it just gets a bit more into it. nothing else to report. Temps and RH are doing well with the extractor. Place has been kinda dry so its working in the tents benefit. noticed some calcium like issues on one lead and found it odd as I amended a good amount of Ca into the soil and its only on one of the leaves. Might just be something else but something to think about while I am gone. Will get my friend to send me some pics of everything to make sure its going well. I also noticed the PH of the feed I give is around 5.1 for whatever reason it is quite acidic but does not seem to bother the plants to much. I know if I fed that kinda thing before I would have ran into issues. *Small Update, I top dressed with a bit of Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4 "found a small amount in an old bucket" and some super fly insect frass of 3-2-4 and a bit of rock dust for extra Ca and some micros. I mixed all this stuff up and gave each bucket a heaping 1tsp/5ml of the powder mix. Normally the recommended dose is 1Tbsp/15ml per Gal. and the container are 2Gal. so its getting a very light dose. This will hold it over with everything else that's in the medium. Till next next week.

Very robust plant with a lot of big buds. It smell very sweet like a mango with citrus and floral. Amazing.

I believe last week's flush may have fixed my PH issue, the yellowing (mag deficiency) seems to have stopped spreading..

I covered the basket with hydroton pebbles after this pic to prevent light leak into my reservoir. I also buried the rockwool to prevent algae growth. I rinse my clay pebbles with PH treated water to avoid reservoir contamination. The major structural issues is primarily due to the cold temperature of the water in my reservoir. It was hitting -30c temps outside. It took me a minute for it to set in that my reservoir temperature was the culprit. I had a water temperature regulator ordered; in the meantime, she kind suffers slow growth and wilting. DWC tip#2: If your water is cold, get a water warmer; Alternately, you will see if water is too hot, get a water chiller. Both extremes are really something you can’t ignore you should have a solution before germinating your seed.

Week 9 6/2-6/8 Now at the start of week 9, my outside gals, except L. Cake are now in flower. One of the last top view photos 6/2 of Opium shows flowers forming. She is over 6 feet tall. From the side view photo of Opium last week to the photos take 6/3 show a growth spurt compared to the zinnia in the flower stand behind Opium. This is the first week I’ve had to add nutrients to her feeding. Some lower leaves were yellow. Since I’ve been using amended soil, this indicates Opium is a heavy feeder. Nutrients in soils are used up and she is starting to use her own food sources. Our temperatures are nearing mid 80's with high humidity. The plants are requiring at least a gallon of water a day. 5 gallons well water TPS1 60ml used 1 gallon per plant =12ml Cal-Mag 25ml used 1 gallon per plant =5ml Recharge 5ml used 1 gallon per plant =1ml Signal 1.25ml PPM 1414, PH 6.93, Temp 82.5 Note I do not have to PH adjust my well water. However, our city water comes out of the tap at 8.2 ph so I must PH down using the hose or my inside grows, ============ Germination April 6. Vegetation Week 1 water only Week 2 water only Week 3 added recharge and TPS1 increased ppm to 570. Week 4 continues with recharge and TPS1. I added Fox Cal mag increasing ppm to 685 - 805. Week 5 TPS1 9ml/gal Recharge 5 ml/gal Fox Cal-mag 5 ml/gal Week 6 5/12-19 Moved outside in 5 gal air pots receiving rain and well water. Week 7 5/19-25 Since I was in Colorado last week, I feel very behind on my diaries. Opium received only rainwater for the last 2 weeks. She is 38 inches and has huge leaves. Some have 13 fronds on one leaf. She is taller than the cage support by 2 feet. I removed the peony cage support because Opium phenotype is tall and lanky. Sativa structure all the way. Water is 5.8 - Run off is perfect until I water 2 days later then it's 6.4-6.6 Trichomes still clear maybe 5% milky. I have the flawless finish so will only need to flush 1 week prior to snipping.

Now this is where the fun starts! What initially looked like three plants with lackluster growth is now turning into an assortment of beautiful colas. Bud sites are popping up all over the place! From this point on, I’ve added an extra fan to improve airflow, and I’m aiming for a VPD above 1.0 kPa to support healthy bud development.

Potted in to 20L and put under a 400w mh, they look a little tired as it was right before lights out. All going well and seem quite a vigorous strain

added a massive amount of fish shit from my aquarium giving a massive amount of organic matter to the microbes and infusing the pots with a massive number of microbes from the fish tank. they are looking like the end of week 3 at week 2 so let's see if i can keep this momentum throughout the entire flower.
