welcome to my late update of week 10 Day 67 5/17/2021

Got the Spider Farmer wicking system set up with a reservoir. Up until now I’ve been using purchased pure water since it came with a better starting pH than my tap. After running the numbers, the cost of hauling jugs didn’t make sense long term. I ended up grabbing an RV water inline filter for the garden hose, which strips out most of the chlorine and other contaminants I was worried about. Goal was mostly a stable water source because the girls are getting thirsty; I still prefer hand-watering to wet and activate the top dress. Access is only from one side of the 5×5, so as they bulk up I’m learning the back two are a chore to reach. The wicking pads help keep things even between rounds, but I’m still going in by hand to finish the job. Did a defoliation pass; airflow and light paths improved, but I may need to push it a bit further because I don’t want a lot of larf. Crazy how much plant material I pulled off but they seem fine. Light feels like the current yield limiter. The SF4000 is solid but a touch undersized for full 5×5 penetration, the lower canopy isn’t getting what I want. I’m eyeing a higher-wattage bar style light for better edge uniformity and deeper PAR at canopy. I’ve been testing edge light saturation with the SpiderF PPFD sensor at canopy height. Center readings are strong but the corners and long edges are clearly lacking. Smaller tent or smaller plants another option maybe. Im at 100% on my light and will be for the rest of the grow just raising it to keep distance. Plants look happy overall. The Durban Cookies is standing out, taller and more vigorous than the 10th Planets especially for being a week younger than the rest. I am guessing it will be harvested first just by stretch speed alone. The 10th Planets R1s all have a pretty even canopy going but showing stretch. Wicking system + hand-water combo is keeping the media right where I want it, and the top dress from last week is kicking in. Reminding everyone this is my first grow. Hoping for a pound dry, but I won’t be greedy. Keeping my expectations realistic! Thanks for following along.

We went a bit crazy this week and got a third lamp. The lights are now at 25 and 30 cm from the tallest plant. According to Sanlight, it's optimal for our tent size and with CO2 added. Also, we added another CO2 bag hanging in the tent. According to the app Photone, which displays the PPFD of the lamps, the PPFD in our tent is around 500. Did some flushing with Cal mag, which we hope helped with the deficiencies seen on the leaves. Either or, our girls seem to be finally growing well and hydrated with the Autopots. New growth seems to be healthy. We had to get a dehumidifier because of the increasing humidity. Currently balancing between humidity and temperature because the winter is getting cold around here. We started doing LST this week. Some of the girls get the stick and some are getting tied up. They seem to be liking it 👹 We are hoping next weekend for a full and healthy canopy, so we can flip the flower.

Banana took off overnight much faster than mazar.

This week they’re starting to drink a bit more. I missed the last watering by a day. Drought resistance is amazing with these but a couple of them yellowed. A couple are getting getting calcium spots, already adjusted ph to see if that would help so fingers crossed. But some very strong genetics for sure. Happy with results so far, they all smell fantastic

11-05 Still falling behind, I haven't really been paying much attention to this Lil runt girl, but I'm still feeding her and semi attending to her 11-08 She seems to be coming along a bit more, buds developing slowly Bure surely, smell is getting stronger. Still a bit dark in color but she's been a weird one the whole time. 11-11 Flushed 11-09, still struggling to fully form but she's trying!

This was my first outdoor autoflower experience. Very happy with the results. Buds could have had a better taste in my opinion but that is just preference.

Muy buenas amigos!!! Como veis, vamos a comenzar el seguimiento de la Gelato Auto de Fastbuds. Nunca hemos cultivado autos y esperemos que nuestra primera experiencia sea aceptable para realizar un buen testeo. Según lo que tengo entendido, este banco tiene una de las genéticas más potentes dentro del mundo de la auto. En nuestro caso hemos elegido Gelato porque es una variedad que nunca hemos probado y nos llama mucho la atención, además de ser una de las variedades más potentes de este banco. En primer lugar, hemos colocamos una servilleta de papel de cocina húmeda en un tupper y hemos puesto las semas encima, con sus respectivas etiquetas para identificarlas, centrándonos en la Gelato (el papel debe estar siempre húmedo pero no llegar a encharcarse). Luego ya podemos colocarle otra capa de papel húmedo por encima de las semas para que mantenga mejor la temperatura y la humedad. Cuando tenemos las semas recubiertas del papel y colocadas en el tupper podemos cerrar este y dejarlo en un sitio con una temperatura entre 20 y 26 grados y a oscuras. A los tres días han germinado todas las semas perfectamente y confirmamos la efectividad de este banco 6/6. Aunque nosotros nos vamos a centrar como habíamos dicho en la Gelato. Decir que solamente nos hemos encargado de mantener el papel húmedo pulverizando cuando era necesario, y de colocar el tupper en un sitio cálido en total oscuridad. De lo demás se ha encargado el método del papel que nunca falla y la calidad de la genética... El último paso de esta semana lo hemos finalizado con el trasplante de las semas a los jiffys. Hay que tener mucho cuidado a la hora de manipular las semas, intentad tocar lo menos posible la radícula o raíz, ya que estas son muy delicadas y pueden coger cualquier infección o ser dañadas. Una vez colocadas en los jiffys hemos regado un poquito y a esperar con paciencia que salga... Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week 9 of flowering. The plants look great. Little bit of thrips damage, but other wise, they look great. Started flushing on Sun. They'll get ph adjusted tap water twice a week... with the run off, draining back into the reservoir. Plant #1 smells like lemon with some mango hints. plants #2 and #3 smell fruity with citrus hints. Will start the harvest on Aug 11th and it should take about 5 days to harvest or maybe 6. It depends on how tired I am and if I need a nap on one of those days to keep my energy up. I also put the buds into curing bags after 3 days hanging, which takes up more time. I've got some other plants to put in their places. and that will take us up to Oct. for that harvest. It's the Mac and Crack Diary. Beutiful hard diesel, she's growing super fast and looks like she's even happier after the transplant to her definitive 11l pot, let's see how this wonderful lady keeps developing, she's being fed with nothing but water since I grow using Florian's living organics (living soil blend) tomorrow this wonderful lady is gonna be flipped into flower finally. As said this lady has been flipped into flower under the light schedule 12-12 on February 15th so now we're gonna se a beautiful stretch before actual flower starts

Harvest done, I believe the result would be better if it hadn't suffered so much. But it's within expectations, let's see how it turns out after the drying and curing process..
