She went from looking ordinary to looking great. Shes a nice vibrant colour with dense buds. This is her final photo shoot as she is about to come down. Next update will be of the harvest. 1 of 2 Sweet Seeds strains i have running and neither has let me down at all. They both shot out there shells and got to work with no complaints or wants at all.

How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. This is true of seed starts or clones made from seed starts. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. This is due to light spectrum, temperature, and/or photoperiod changes. Yes, Freakshow will do exceedingly well indoors, and will thrive and mature just fine in a wide variety of natural environments as well, so it's definitely both and I think might even prove to be more resilient to those sorts of transitions. Q. What are the potency and terpenoid levels? A. Average 18-20% THCa, THC; negligible CBD, CBN with terps variable, averaging 2.5-3.5, primarily limonene and pinene, but this is variable, there was a lot of diversity in terp combinations and compositions in all the prior generations, it's just something that was left "as is" for now. The different parallel lines that we are developing can be directed in a few different pathways flavorwise. Q. Why are the seeds white? A. Why is the sky blue? No, the mature seeds are shrouded by a rice paper thin membrane which has coloring and mottling on it, but it's so fragile that it disintegrates in the process of shucking. Stripped of the outer layer the seeds are very pale, nearly white. It came as no surprise that this plant would have abnormal seeds. Q. Is it a GMO? A. Wow...? Well, it's seriously "modified" and the modifications are definitely genetic, and it is an organism. (Genuinely Modified Organically!) Uh, no. No radiation, no recombinant DNA, no gene splicing or editing, no TALEN or CRISPR! These biotechnologies don't belong in the food and medicine plant industries. Sadly, in the near future it will become commonplace and widespread in cannabis and other medicinal plants as it is already is with food crops and ornamentals. I'll avoid discussion on this topic for now, but we hope some people enjoy consuming Frankenbud! Q. What's the floral period length? A. 8-9 wks, finishes early Oct. at most latitudes and elevations. Q. Is it a big producer? A. Freakshow will produce nice, fat, dense colas (see gallery) with remarkable trichome coverage, and you can expect yields according to your veg. time, root space, and general knowledge and expertise as a gardener. The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). NLD("Sativa") dominant, but the afghanica influence is apparent. I'm pretty sure that Freakshow contains some Trainwreck and some Maui Wowie based on some research I did on the origins of the Pineapple Express. Interestingly Big Sur Holyweed, OG Kush, Banana, Trainwreck, and Maui Wowie are all of unclear origins. We have to remember that these are all just names and that they don't really mean much. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. Couch unlock. Q. Is it pest and mildew resistant? A. Indeed it is. On many occasions in the last few years, it has been observed that when pest and mildew issues were affecting other plants adjacent to in the vicinity of Freakshow plants, for unknown reasons the freaks remained entirely unaffected. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. My Blueberry lady is slightly ahead of my Durban Poison babe! Stem Thickness: Those once-spindly stems now feel sturdy and stable, thanks to their exposure to light winds. Environment Report: Stability Wins The weather’s been a steady 10–16°C with occasional clouds. Plants are now outdoors soaking up direct light as long as possible (still bringing them in at night—better safe than sorry with these chilly temps!). The "Boring" Philosophy No news is good news! This week’s mantra: Don’t fix what isn’t broken. Watering Rhythm: Sticking to plain pH’d water (~6.3) only when the pots feel light. No overthinking, no overwatering. They're flowering, and fast. These beauties are a must to grow. They'll grow to 2 meters tall and punch even above that. Also theyve started flowering and some already have created big sticky buds even the small one! Awesome grow recommended.

UPDATE AFTER A LONG TIME, i'll post more often. I only recovered a few videos from last couple years to share. Mango is dense, but doesn't give out much trichome as I expected. So, I took a risk and poke a hole in the stem to gave a lot of stress to the plant, so the plant gave out a lot of trichomes and the bud becomes a bit bigger.

Unsure if this will produce bigger buds before harvest, watching the trichomes now to see when the right time will be. I anticipate her being ready by Christmas, will cut when trichomes are mostly cloudy

Harvest on day 91 of cycle , day 54 of flowering.. I could leave it few days more for sure however my ladt harvest is nearly finishing so I need to dry this plant as soon as possible hehehe.. Purple punch has really frosty buds, it didn’t grow as much as I wish(I had to move the plant to the toilet with my burple light as there was no space for 3 plants in my 2x4 tent) but they are looking insanely good, with a strong flavor of grape, I am impressed with this smell/flavour, all covered in trichomes, I can’t wait to smoke it.. So my way to harvest it is I cut it down on the main branch and hang to dry out.. all the plant .. I prefer dry trim because it’s way easier to trim.. so now I am gonna hang it for 2/3 weeks and then start trimming.. I will update yield and tasty as soon as I finish trimming.. Overall I am happy with the results 🙌🏼.

2/1/2024- Pre-Germination Activities Day 1 I have 21 weeks until final photo is do.. I took 3 seeds out of cold storage and will let them get to room temp for the next 48 hours before I go with Glass of water for germination. I have 3 beans because I will start from the very beginning helping ensure I present the best Pheno. This is going to be a fun one.. I am a few days away from being able to clear my tent out for this run.. I have a breeding run in right now and the Seeds are a few days away from being mature enough for me to take down the girls. Once I get them down I will need to get my tent cleaned up and turned over right away. This is going to be close, I will have to time them to the water and into the tray at the right time.. because I will need to get lighting on them right away.. I have my 2X2 and my light ready incase I need to hold them in the cloning machine if the others are not done in the next few days.. Glad I have options that can stretch me out for a week or 2 to give me a little more time. 2/2/2024- Pre-Germination Activities Day 2 I checked on my breeding run to see how close the seeds are and if the tent is ready for me to clear and clean but alas I am still going to need a few days. I setup the emergency 2X2 and that should give me 2-3 weeks. The plan is to still wait one more day to allow the beans to warm up to room temp and then drop them in Water sometime tomorrow. Form my Emergency 2X2 I have the following: 4" inline fan and carbon filter Fan VS-2000 light 2/3/2024- Germination Activities Day 0 - Dropped the Beans in.. Today is 0 day.. Go.. Go .. Go.. 2/4/2024- Germination Activities Day 0-1 - Checked in on them this morning and no tap roots yet.. covered them back up and back in to the closet they went. I setup the Root Riots and the Seed tray for them. I Ensured my water that I was soaking the root riots in was PHed to 5.8 and I used RO water. Afternoon Update: Checked on my Breeders and they are done. I started to harvest them, I took down the one I had reversed with STS and I took down the Black African Magic- All but one bud, I wanted to get some pics of that one today. I was only able to get 2lbs into the Cannatrol because I had to be very careful to keep the bud from the plant that was treated with the STS separated from the other seeded bud that was pollenated from the plant I reversed. Cannatrol could have held an additional 2oz of wet but not today. Ideally I need 1 more Cannatrol so I can take an entire Tent, but will figure that out. I put an additional 1.5lbs into the freezer to wait it's turn into the Cannatrol, I would have left it on the plant and taken it in 4 days when the dry cycle gets done but wasn't sure how much 2.2 lbs was equivalent to chopped and wet trimmed. 2/5/2024- Germination Activities Day 0-2 - Checked in on them this morning and 2 of them have very small tap roots out.. one still doesn't going to give them some more time. I will check in on them this evening and see if they are more open if so I will transfer the ones that are ready to their medium and seed tray. 2/6/2024- Planting Day TRUE Germination Day 0- Checked in on them this morning and all 3 of them have tap roots out. I broke the bottom of the tap root for #1 which was the biggest.. pretty sad.. I hope she survives.. I tried to be careful it just snapped off when I was trying to get it in the root riot right. Other than that all three are now in their in-between home in the 2X2 while if finish clearing and cleaning out their forever homes. 2/7/2024- Germination Day 1- Checked in on them and no surprise no sprouts yet. Sprayed the dome to moist it and light spray to the tops of the Root Riots. 2/8/2024- Germination Day 2- #3 is popped and it looks like #2 will be popped by this evening.. I got my second Cannatrol today so now I can take down the rest of the tent and get it into the dry/cure. 2/9/2024- Germination Day 3- #2 is popped as well.. so I have #2 and #3 up and still waiting to see on #1 but that might be a loss since I accidently broke off some of the Tap root when transplanting. 2/10/2024- Germination Day 4- #1 has Popped... We have ignition on all 3.. YAY!! I finished clean up and install of RDWC system, this time was unique the back left buckets 3 inch pipe wasn't seated correctly so I had to clean up about 12 gallons of water all of the floor. I also had two leaks coming from one of the Waterfall return junctions, this is why I do a full pressure test before I put anything in. I will continue to monitor it through tomorrow to ensure that I am good to go and then I will finish setting up the baskets and prepping the water to be ready for the ladies planting day!!! 2/11/2024- Germination Day 5- #1 Of course is going to be my trouble plant.. No matter what If she lives through planting in the system and making it, I think I might not cull her at all regardless, she has been such a problem, makes me wonder if she will be super worth it towards the end.. We will see as we go through this grow, but #1 has a piece of the shell on the leaves, Other than that I set up a new thing I have been doing since last grow converting my Baskets into Sure plants so I can see exactly where the water is when I plant them and ensure I have the water up high enough that they are able to access it and grow but not too high were they are drowning. 2/12/2024- Germination Day 6- Everything seems to be going good.. will just keep them moist and let the roots grow for a few more days before I transplant to forever home. 2/13/2024 - Germination Day 7- Just keeping them Moist. 2/14/2024 - Germination Day 8 - Planting day.. they are now in the system.. :-)I had to fill the water to the bottom of the basket where I could see water on the bottom rocks and just coming up where I had created my whole/ sure plant. 2/15/2024 - Germination Day 9- Top fed just a little to keep them moist and encourage root growth towards the water. I ensured the PH is right at 5.98-6.02 range. 2/16/2024 - Germination Day 10- Top fed just a little to keep them moist and encourage root growth towards the water.

This plant has a growth spurt this week she’s doing just fine growing as I am training her to do not a whole lot to report just lotta growth everything’s going good Day 4 of week 6 she is showing signs of preflower stretches we will see how it goes but it definitely looked like she wants to go into flower hoping to have a few more weeks of good veg time but I’ll take what ever she wants to do 👍😊

Beginning of week.. I raised the lights a little.. They are at 50% power at 18" (roughly) from the plants. The ladies are getting from 420 to 500 PPFD. Went ahead and fed them some extra FloraMicro this week.. I'm guessing they are just very hungry girls.. And I'm thinking the pH in the rootzone issue is not clearing up at all.. BUT.. It seems like no matter what pH I water them with.. The runoff ALWAYS comes out at 5.8 or 5.9 with the Mandarin Cookies and 5.8 or 5.7 with the ETHOS Cookies.. So if you want to reuse your coco coir.. Make sure to remove ALL the roots. The girls dont look too bad at all.. And that's why I'm guessing they just needed more nutes in the mix.. We shall see how this week goes! Mid week.. They are looking alot better! Mandarin Cookies is exploding woth growth.. ETHOS Cookies is growing slow but she is growing for sure.. I think I may need to remove a node or 2 on the ETHOS Cookies.. I could just leave it.. But the very top 2 are covering alot of tops.. I could make some clones from it.. Hmm.. All-in-all.. I'm happy with how these girls are growing for now tho.. This rootzone issue isnt going away.. But I think I found a way to make it work out.. I've been watering a little differently.. Here is a bit of an example: Day 1: Feed at 6.5 Day 3: Water at 6.4 Day 5: Feed at 6.3 Day 7: Water at 6.2 Day 9: Feed at 6.5 Day 11: Water at 6.4 Day 13: Feed at 6.3 Day 15: Water at 6.2 Etc... The runoff is staying above 5.5 each time.. But as I lower the pH, the runoff pH lowers as well (obviously).. So I think watering this way has helped keep these gorgeous ladies happy.. And theyare also very hungry.. I may have to start watering one plant every other day.. Water plant 1 tomo.. Water plant 2 the next day.. Then plant 1 the next day and then plant 2 the next day etc... 1 reason I want to start doing it that way is because I think the ETHOS Cookies isn't needing as much nutes as the Mandarin Cookies.. But they are looking great. Very happy and so are they! The heat has been insane lately.. So at the hottest part of the day I try to just turn the light down to 25% for 4 hours or so.. I hate having to do that.. But it's all I can do for now.. Or maybe change the light/dark hours.. Blah.. Whatever, they are happy! End of week.. I supercropped 2 branches.. They pretty much healed up and are already back to normal.. Like it didnt bring them down any lower at all lol.. It straightened back up and its as if nothing happened.. Just a big ass (MOOSE) knuckle lol.. But I stopped using the Kushie Kush and was just using the normal Gen Hydro FloraBloom in the mix. Will be upping the FloraGro next week! Wow.. Such hungry ladies! It's been so long since I've grown a bigger photo period.. I forgot how much they can take!.. On to the next!...

On day 3 week 3 of flower shes putting out a lot of preflowers and the tops are staring to put out pistils and start of sugar leaves. Im giving a max of 1100 ppfd on tops with an average of 900 ppfd on all tops. Im very happy with the pheno so far and look forward to her expressing her aroma! :)
