Hey everyone! It’s been another fabulous week of the girls fattening up getting ready for the ever looming harvest time! The colas are huge and glistening like a glitter ball! The back right girl has been on flush since day 51, 2 more went on flush on day 53, and the final girl front right went on flush today, day 56! Over the week I gave 3 girls a really heavy defoliation taking the majority of fan leaves off to allow good airflow and try fattening up those lower buds. It’s still impossible to tell if I prefer defoliation or not but we are getting close to harvest so should have a definitive answer to that soon! The back right girl has had absolutely no defoliation or trimming through her life cycle. I still regularly think back to when we broke one of the girls and transplanted, the cannabis gods were on our side warning us 4 girls will be huge, we were very lucky or would be seriously short of space as of now. As the girls are going to be harvested at slightly different times to ensure each are at their optimum, I have had to construct a dry box. How I built my smell free DIY dry box: Take a large cardboard box, cut an extraction hole in the top at one end and mount some ducting and seal the gap around the edge. Cut a flap in the opposite end at the bottom which will be the passive intake and promoting a draft through the hanging buds. Poke some holes in each end of the box using a screwdriver and thread some thin rope or string through the box tying the ends together once finished to give you sturdy locations to hang some pegs from. Finally I attached an extra bit of card on one of the flaps at the top; this overlaps the slight gap in the top between the flaps that could allow light to enter. Once completed I put the ducting into one of the lower intakes of the tent; the negative pressure in the tent then uses the air in the dry box as a passive intake creating a smell free area to dry your cannabis outside of your grow tent. This also keeps a slight breeze flowing through the box to ensure even drying. My choice to use soft touch stainless steel picture hanging wire as my LST ties is seeming to be a poor choice. the wire is not rigid enough making it make difficult to achieve the results I was looking for. Overall.. not super disappointed but I am working harder than I should be :p

I guess I first have to extend a big thank you to James and the folks at RQS. The genetics of their “Northern Light” did not disappoint and this was a no fuss grow across all categories. This will be the only time you hear me refer to Northern Lights in the singular. It’s kinda like calling a “pickerel” a “walleye” - you just don’t do that up here😉. She took well to training, showed no signs of lockout or deficiency, and we were at the top limits of botanicare’s recommended feeding schedule the whole time. I’d call this typical NL - the scent wasn’t overly powerful, she grew somewhat squat and while I’m actually very surprised at the final weigh (thought it would be much less), the whole grow was typical of the strain in my experience. Possibly her biggest limiting factor was simply space constraints. The photos pretty obviously demonstrate that she got really crowded out by the neighbouring kush and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she’d have done a little better with some more room. That said, what isn’t “typical” are the effects. RQS touts this as a cup winner and I can see why. Had the opportunity to sample a little and WHOA! She Hits with a lasting, cerebral and euphoric effect that starts as a light, happy high. Not a crippling or dulling effect at all. Just everything you’d expect from a well rounded strain in general. Perfect. I almost wanna describe it as a classic sativa but I’ve been smoking nothing but a pure indica for so many months now that anything different is gonna feel that way 😂. Thank Christ for some new stash diversity: 1:! Many, many thanks to all those who cared to comment, suggest or converse on this one. It’s been a pleasure hearing from everyone and I did what I could to keep ‘er interesting : 1:. Next up will be a couple autos on RDWC before the summer outdoor season (and a significant indoor upgrade) is upon us. Hello beautiful people! Another week of veg. All is going well so far. Been training the girls lightly. I added cal mag & silica supplement. I will continue doing this for the rest of the grow. My water is soft (low ec) so adding some call mag cant hurt. I've also read good things about adding silica so lets see if its a good addition to my nute schedual. I will probably put the net on them tomorrow. Will prob add anohter video on wednesday. Thats it! Love & Peace 4 all!

I’ve began flushing to prep for harvest just about 1 more week and I should be ready

Week 3(Bloom): She has packed on a lot of pistils this week. Overall she’s looking really good. I think I’m under watering her. Last night and tonight when the light came on she looked pretty droopy. I’ve given her some more water today. Tomorrow when the light comes on I’ll give her a look and see. I did lift the plant to see if it was heavy or light, she was very light. Hopefully she snaps out of it. I’m very happy with this girl. This week the growth wasn’t as rapid, this could be because of not enough water, not sure though. Starting to see a bit more vertical growth Thanks for checking out the diary! 👊

Strong smell starting to come off this fine lady. She slowed down growth before going in to flower but seems to be bouncing back the lemon skunks and tranquil have surpassed this fine indca in height

LST is working wonders. I'm getting a really nice canopy. These are really squat plants which is allowing me to fill the space nicely. This week we've added a fermenting bottle of sugar water and an evening session of classical music. Samantha is still a bit pale but each new node is looking better than the earlier sets of leaves. Nerea is stretching the most which is allowing me to really spread her out using pegs from the garden centre. Ana has fully recovered from being dripped on by salty water (I'm really sorry about that Ana). I've put the inline fan in place and turned the humidifier off. The last week has been the most stable. Humidity has been in a tight range 42-57% and the temp too 22ºC in the day dropping to 18ºC at night each and every day without me fiddling with anything. Let's see how the room copes as we head into warmer weather.

Guys please take a look at the photos and videos this is late week 2 coming up to week 3. This is my first grow and I would like your opinion on this please. Thanks
