How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. This is true of seed starts or clones made from seed starts. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. This is due to light spectrum, temperature, and/or photoperiod changes. Yes, Freakshow will do exceedingly well indoors, and will thrive and mature just fine in a wide variety of natural environments as well, so it's definitely both and I think might even prove to be more resilient to those sorts of transitions. Q. What are the potency and terpenoid levels? A. Average 18-20% THCa, THC; negligible CBD, CBN with terps variable, averaging 2.5-3.5, primarily limonene and pinene, but this is variable, there was a lot of diversity in terp combinations and compositions in all the prior generations, it's just something that was left "as is" for now. The different parallel lines that we are developing can be directed in a few different pathways flavorwise. Q. Why are the seeds white? A. Why is the sky blue? No, the mature seeds are shrouded by a rice paper thin membrane which has coloring and mottling on it, but it's so fragile that it disintegrates in the process of shucking. Stripped of the outer layer the seeds are very pale, nearly white. It came as no surprise that this plant would have abnormal seeds. Q. Is it a GMO? A. Wow...? Well, it's seriously "modified" and the modifications are definitely genetic, and it is an organism. (Genuinely Modified Organically!) Uh, no. Q. Is it a big producer? A. Freakshow will produce nice, fat, dense colas (see gallery) with remarkable trichome coverage, and you can expect yields according to your veg. time, root space, and general knowledge and expertise as a gardener. The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). NLD("Sativa") dominant, but the afghanica influence is apparent. I'm pretty sure that Freakshow contains some Trainwreck and some Maui Wowie based on some research I did on the origins of the Pineapple Express. Interestingly Big Sur Holyweed, OG Kush, Banana, Trainwreck, and Maui Wowie are all of unclear origins. We have to remember that these are all just names and that they don't really mean much. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. Couch unlock. Q. Is it pest and mildew resistant? A. Indeed it is. On many occasions in the last few years, it has been observed that when pest and mildew issues were affecting other plants adjacent to in the vicinity of Freakshow plants, for unknown reasons the freaks remained entirely unaffected. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. Grand Daddy Purple auto had a good growth spurt this week. She had her first lst and defoliation today. She has been growing vigorously this last week. This is a great sign and hopefully she keeps thriving. Everything is looking really good at the moment. Guys, good evening...I've got it into my head now...I have to raise a fucking beast ! I'm still stretching this girl so we can make sure that when the tent is clear she will become the absolute queen.... It's not easy at all to run a dwc like this, but I'll try my best.

And after 2 rainy days and a sunny one after them, here comes Harvest day !! 😎 THe plant was sorrounded by a lot of bugs , as you can appreciate in the photos, it was neccesary to clean up the material... Never done this before but watched a video of Jorge Cervantes where he was cleaning the buds with H202 THe concentration was 200-250 ml with 22l, and i used 6l of water with 50 ml of H202 at 3%.... After the bath, like 90 % of the bugs are gone.. Im happy with te results, the buds/flowers are nicely lined up at the same height, and the aroma is really nice,but im curing the weed a couple of months at least... Today rolled up one and the taste is sweet on the exhale with spicy tones in the mouth too, but a proper cure is needed until full flavor develops in my opinion :) Overall a nice experience, didnt expect that purple tones appearing in the end and didnt expect such intense smell too hahah really stinky plant.. She screams im here, dont care what you think about me hahaha It has been drying for 5 days as the buds werent too compact and didn took too much time to dry.. This week I decided to remove the LST and let her strech out as much as she wants. I lollipopped her on day 49 and cutted down all the branches that will never grow to the light. She has to strech as much as possible because there are some way taller plants under the same light. I hope she gonna produce some nice flower and will continue to strach abit. This week it has a very strong smell and the buds are flowering ridiculously fast I believe it willl take at least to the 10 or 11 week mark due to its size but will def be worth the wait this fastbuds strain(greencrack) is my favorite and I will def be buying again.

I started picking for forbidden fruits the day after last week’s post, checking the colas with the scope and only picking tops that were approx 10-20% amber. As I snipped colas I also removed a lot of upper fan leaves, this is to allow light to reach lower buds for a final ripening. Once picked, I placed approx 100g in each brown paper bag, folded the top and sat on a rack. I slowly rolled the bags around once or twice a day just so the buds didn’t stick together. Seems to have worked well, no dreaded hay smell to note and nicely dried. I think I’ll be taking some more colas tops off in a few days time and I’ll keep the plants alive for another week or two, depending on how fast they come along. I have 4 Mimosa EVO (no diary) about 7 weeks into veg at the moment and I think it would be nice to give them another 2 weeks as I need big plants to make clones from them, ready for the next diary coming soon... hopefully with successfully taken clones 😊

1/2/23 she’s doing great I moved a leaf and noticed that she has tan lines. That is amazing. This lights incredible I took the two bottom branches that I usually trim off. I’m glad I didn’t because I got 1.83 ounces and 1.78 ounces wet. This plant has been the best strongest plant I’ve ever grown it’s really nice and it smells great. I’m gonna give the rest of her, maybe another couple weeks it’s just exciting to watch her grow. I’m not in a hurry to harvest. I do partial harvest as I go along. 1/3 I turned the viper spectra XS1500 light down to halfway which is 82.3 W. And the amount of energy still is more than two of my old spider farmer lights. I had no idea how important brand new LEDs are this is just fantastic. I bet I can grow an entire plant for probably 90 W. 1/4 yum yum omg smells gooooooood.. FYI, Just because a Gamorrean pledges their loyalty doesn't mean they wont eat your weed, lesson learned. 1/4 Just smoked some that had been drying for only 2 days. The smell was so strong like no auto I have ever smelled. This is like top shelf photo from the dispensary. I am totally impressed. 1/6 i’m going to set up a new tent. It starts with the power source. It looked really ugly, so I wanted to try something nicer. I got one of the TP Link power strips three individual outlet controls for the smaller tent that I will germinate in my use one to monitor the power of the light and I keep switching them around. It’s really nice to have. 1/8 I’m going to plant some seeds today. It’s Elvis’s birthday. I threw away a liter of Purpinator today. I’ve been having nutrient troubles, and I noticed a little that I had mixed up in a small spray bottle had started to congeale. And after I tried 6 mL of it in a gallon twice I noticed some plant damage. I don’t know if it’s that stuff or not but when I add something new it seems to cause damage. So I will never use that again. it’s taking me a month to set up a small 24 x 24“ tent I don’t know what’s wrong with me so I have two 27“ x 27“ and one 24 x 24“. The small tent will be for photoperiod also for germination, the other two are going to be for autos only. I’ve discovered auto flowers need their own tent and their own space, especially the way I train them. I top them after the 3rd node then wait until a couple weeks into flower and I soften the branches pressing them between my thumb & index finger to keep them limber then spread them out so they kind a look like a giant crab, but they grow up very strong and they don’t need support I was going to go with 5 gallon but I think it would be just too heavy so I’ll stick with 3 gallons. I’ll be starting to gorilla cookies this coming week probably tonight, but I’ll start the diary tomorrow. If you hold the phone up to the TV, it types out the dialogue . I’m gonna d mad max later don’t you wish you were like me easily amused? You get a lot less brains on your wall that way.

Esa familia , ya va quedando menos para cortar estas hermanitas skunk de Zambezaseeds, tienen algo de sobre fertilización de las últimas semanas pero llevamos solo agua 2 semanas. Ph regulado en 6,5 . Humedad por debajo del 40% , temperatura algo alta al trabajar con sodio pues en esta época sube vaya. Así que esto tenemos y las flores se ven bastante compactas. Nos vemos la semana que viene fumetillas.

Week 7 for gelato 41, She's been topped a few more times now as you can see she's really pushing her size, I'm still stretching her out size ways. Nothing too crazy to report from here besides I've been giving her an extra 4/5h in sun light to start to harden her off a bit before moving her outside to her final pot (which may be end of this month but we'll see)

Had a visitor this week. As I was watering my plants I noticed this red spot on one of the leaves... To my surprise it was a ladybug. I don't have aphids or nothing like that, and I don't have the slightest idea where this litle nugget came from.... Besides that all plants are doing OK, NL 1 is a litlle slower than the other ones and its just now starting to show first signs of flower. The other ones did that last week... The NL1 and MC started drinking and eating a lot. They go trough 700ml in a day and half. Upping the watering dosage this week so I can have more time between waterings. I like around 3 days.

4/15/25 This plant is blowing my freaking mind. Long stacked colas. Even the lower buds are plumping up like golf balls. This is an exceptional plant so far. Shes starting to show the classic "sherbert" purple that ive noticed shows up with anything that has sunset sherbert in the lineage. Some of the leaves are starting to fade slightly and the purple is coming in. The rs11 that this seed came from, produced the most from a single plant out of all plants ive grown and trained and kept that small. She yielded 3.5 ounces or a 1/4lb of top nugs from a plant that was only about 18 inches tall and vegged for 6 weeks before flip. Once i start to clear out all of the fan leaves later on in flower, its just going to be buds running the length of the stems 4/18/25 I really believe this may be a keeper. She is absolutely stunning. Just everything is perfect. She has super long stacking of buds up and down the stems. Im actually super stoked to see how she finishes up. One of the craziest parts is that shes in a plastic 2 or 3 gallon pot and this plant is going to yield insane.
