11/17 Week 10 Ripley - Starting her on the Soul Peak very soon, low dose 5ml see how she takes it will reduce CocoTek on just her by 3ml/gal at that dose. Keep defoliating her gently, dozen of so leaves every day or so just to keep buds open to light. No visible problems Tara - The Beast - Ok now it officially the largest plant we have grown to date. With the pot its hitting 4 ft 8 in without 3 ft 2 in. The stretch has finally slowed to a stop and buds are beginning to quickly build... thank you God. I was really wondering what I was going to do next. Am going to have to bind her up a bit just for support tomorrow as those buds get heavy and she needs to give Ripley some room. Also cleaning the heck out of the lower end tomorrow. Keeping her CocoTek at current level with a Cal-Mag foliar every few days 1/19 Foliar Cal-Mag feed on Tara Cleaned out the bottom of Tara, first pass at least see how it turns out. Decided to put Tara on the same feed as Ripley see what happens as Ripley is building buds faster with the PK cant say that would hurt Tara, No def so may as well May be early but heck what do I know, on new ground here 1/20 So far so good, cleaned up Tara a bit and bound her up to give support and room for Ripley. Buds building nicely crap load of them Ripley doing well in the pK so will continue her protocol by slowly reducing CT and inc PK 1/21 Noticing some mag def on Tara and random Ca spots so getting a dose of Cal-Mag 3ml/gal as well as the foliar. 1/22 3ml/gal CalMag added to Tara feed reduced CT 2ml/gal Ripley on 5ml/gal CocoTek AB and 10ml/gal Peak getting her ready for flush 1/23 Going to try alternating between adding 3ml Cal-Mag to Tara's feed and foliar with same. Not a bad Mg problem but obviously one I cant ignore given its Ca as well. Ripley on 6.1 Water and 15ml/gal Peak one more day then flushing to start week 11

Fifth week of flower and it was time to defoliate the indoor units as they were starting to get bushy and block exposure to the lower bud sites. Quick work with the bonsai shears and they were ready to soak in the sun. I left the rooftop plants alone as I believe having additional leaf mass enables them to withstand temp and environmental fluctuations better. Whether or not this is the case, it was an experiment.

In general, similar to the autoflowers, we collected at most a quarter of the total volume. We'll take it back and do the trimming on site. Of course, you're interested in the numbers. In total, there were 14 trips to the plot. Mostly, we focused on weeding and foliar treatment. We harvested approximately 15 plants (10 autoflowers and 5 early bloomers). Altogether, we filled 4 containers each holding 6 liters. Each container fits 350-400 grams, which means there's about 1.5 kg in all the containers, plus a 2.5 kg bag of good trim. Approximate yield per plant (inflorescences with a small amount of leaves!): Early bloomers: around 150-200 grams per plant (we didn't collect the fattest buds because, unfortunately, they got moldy, so the numbers are approximate). Autoflowers: around 70-90 grams per plant.

The increased CO2 allows plants to thrive at higher temperatures, which in turn necessitates higher humidity to maintain the ideal VPD for healthy growth and transpiration. 80F -5F = 75F LST with 70% RH = 0.72 kPa. Higher temperatures and humidity promote rapid growth, nutrient uptake, and photosynthesis while maintaining a lower stress level. Temperature influences the rate of enzymatic reactions involved in aerobic respiration. Enzymes, such as those involved in glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and the electron transport chain, work most efficiently at an optimal temperature range. In low temperatures, enzymatic activity will slow down, thus reducing the rate of aerobic respiration. In high temperatures, enzymes can become denatured, thus impairing their function and stopping the process of aerobic respiration. Glucose is the primary fuel for aerobic respiration. The rate of aerobic respiration increases with the availability of glucose, as it is the starting point for glycolysis. If glucose levels are low, cells may rely on alternative energy sources such as fatty acids or amino acids , but these processes may yield less ATP or be less efficient. To determine this effect, carbon dioxide volume was measured (as carbon dioxide is an output of aerobic respiration) 18/6 with the 6 being IR. The near infrared (IR-a) borders around 700nm up to 1400nm @ photon par flux density of 1.8 instead of darkness, keeping temps overnight a neat 77F-80F. Think of my tent as a lung. What goes in must come out. When the rate of air going out exceeds the amount of air coming in, it creates a negative pressure. Tent concaves (bends in). If set up correctly, your RH will begin to drop slowly to the desired level you set, and the extraction turns off when it reaches 50% RH. The plant, as it performs cellular respiration, will always be releasing more water into the air, so the RH% of the tent overnight will always increase, so long as oxidative phosphorylation is occurring. As soon as the RH% creeps back up to 55%, the extraction turns back on, over and over. This creates a strong pressure differential which will work wonders on your grow. Replicating high and low-pressure fronts in nature. Critical for oxygen diffusion at the critical time of peak cellular respiratory function.. Moisture will not transfer from a saturated atmosphere to another if that air is already at or above its saturation point, meaning the air can't hold any more water vapor. Once I understood that water is produced as a by product during cellular respiration, specifically at the very end of the electron transport chain (ETC) where electrons are finally transferred to molecular oxygen, the higher the RH of the air, the more resistance there is for more moisture to be added to that environment, and effects the ease with which it does so. But none of that water comes from the pot; it's pulled from the air. If you run high daytime RH, your medium/pot is 100% reliant on transpirational root pull to move water. ZERO evaporation happens across the atmosphere if the tent air has high RH%, the medium cannot release its water through evaporation. Once a canopy develops, light no longer slowly wicks and evaporates from the topsoil. The Soil-Plant-Atmosphere Continuum (SPAC) describes the continuous pathway and process of water movement, driven by a gradient in water potential, from the soil, through the plant's roots, stem, and leaves, and finally evaporating into the atmosphere through transpiration. There is evaporation, there is transpiration, and then there is evapotranspiration; Evapotranspiration (ET) is the combined total of two processes: evaporation (water lost directly from soil and surface water into the atmosphere) and transpiration (water released from plants to the atmosphere through their leaves). Evapotranspiration represents the total amount of water that moves from the medium into the air. There is no such thing as a medium with too much water, only a medium that retains too much for too long. The water must always flow efficiently from one atmosphere(Medium) to another(Air) in a timely manner. Moisture is a critical factor for bacterial growth and decay. Dictating how long it's allowed to sit in any one location for any given period is a key preferred control. To ensure a net reduction in a bacterial population, the rate of removal (ET) must exceed the rate of bacterial growth (decay rate), which is often modeled as a growth rate for the specific bacterium under the given conditions. By optimizing daytime VPD, we also optimize conditions for bacterial growth to explode exponentially above 77°F.. If water is allowed to sit in a medium without an escape within a timeframe, nothing good will happen. IF High RH is maintained overnight as well as during the day, placing 100% of water movement at the behest of daytime transpiration, roots can only pull where they can reach, and if soil is compressed above a certain point, moisture will become trapped in a medium with no way of moving day or night. This will begin the countdown for decay to take hold. When water stagnates in a medium, it loses oxygen, creating anaerobic conditions that foster the growth of harmful microorganisms like bacteria and fungi, which can produce toxins and disease vectors. Thigmomorphogenesis, the process by which plants respond to mechanical stimuli like touch by altering their growth and development, results in significant morphological changes to improve survival against mechanical perturbations. This complex response involves sensing touch and initiating physiological and genetic responses, leading to changes in form and structure over days or weeks. The process is triggered by physical forces such as wind, rain, or touch. Plants adapt to these stimuli by changing their shape and structure, which may include slower growth, thickened stems, or altered leaf development. Plants possess sophisticated mechanisms to detect even subtle mechanical stimuli and initiate responses. A variety of molecules, including calcium ions, jasmonates, ethylene, and nitric oxide, are involved in signaling these mechanical inputs. Touch can induce the expression of genes that encode proteins for calcium sensing, cell wall modification, and defense mechanisms. A plant exposed to constant wind may become shorter and sturdier. A plant that is touched frequently might grow more slowly to conserve energy and develop thicker cell walls. These changes increase a plant's resilience and ability to survive in harsh environments. Day 49: She is back on Day 51: She keeps pushing strong. Ive used some LST to even out her height. Also defolaited a bit every day and removed some lower bud shoots. Summary of how I got her back: The problem I have identified was slight overwatering and too high temperatures. Thats why her leafs hang down in veg, and are now cupping a bit in flower. Unfortunately I cant get the temperatures down much. When possible, im decreasing the lights during the day, and increase them at night while pulling cold air. Current night temperatures are around 15C, but I only reach arround 23C with 60% rh in the tent. This should be fine, but the leaf temperatures are probably a bit higher. I also hang the light as low as possible right now since that also helps with the temps. I keep the lights at about 45%, which results at 20h at a dli at roughly 38. A bit of an increase in the night times will hopefully push this to 45 overall. Also fed her today with 1 silica | 1,5 calmag | 2 grow | 1,5 micro | 1,5 bloom. She took 2,5 l of water.

1 of the bubba kush & 2 of the gorilla zkittlez are a little behind but over all everything seems to be going good so far! Day 10 update transplanted all the ones in smaller pots to 5 gallon pots except 1 of the bubba Kush it still needs a few more days! Everything else seems to be going great!

Plant fading and changing colour nicely. Day 77 Trichomes are still milky or clear. Waiting for the first signs of amber Trichomes, at which point I plan to harvest. Day 77 might be the plants last watering depending on the Trichomes in the next few days.

This week has been such a gift! I have learned so much about proper care for a plant I had no idea how little I knew sitting down and observing these majestic trees produce such a potent flower has really humbled me. Premium cultivars strain has shown resilient and self sustaining easy to grow traits that it is hard to mess up. (Which I’ve done a few times lol) Notice the trichomes (I put the zoom lens on and got up in there so they could be better seen the bud itself is slathered in them ! This is going to be an amazing smoke! Also looking at the structure of the bud it’s self it has volume very full bodied bracts with pistils throughout It’s just an all-around beautiful thing to observe

I have done a great deal of defoliation I have two in a 2x2 tent the 2nd plant was a back up but the 1st one started to take off. She is doing well growing taller every day and pistols looking good too with new growth also everyday. I’m only feeding about once a week been really hard to keep the tent dry so have been water till fully dry. Temps have been great so far 76day time temp with a drop to about 69-70 at night. Been warming up here summer is around the corner pulled out the AC units working well for now.

📆 Week 9, 7-13 December 2023 7-13 December - Continued with simple adjustment of branches to receive maximum light. There was no defoliation of any leaf this week. Her growth rate has slowed and I believe she is heading in to the bulking stage. I’m satisfied with her size at this point. 8 December - Turned light power from 50% up to 75%, and raised lights from 18” to 21” from top of plant to facilitate the bulking phase of flowering. 📑 Let’s briefly discuss light and umol/m2/s or PPFD. First of all its all about numbers. Is there an agreeable starting point on these figures - the cannabis plant requires between 100-300 PPFD in seedling, 400-700 PPFD in vegetation, and 800-1000 PPFD in flower. It can go up to 1500 PPFD with certain C02 concentrations. I believe this may be generally accepted. Never being much of a numbers person, in ways I avoid it. I’ve grown indoor weed for a long time without a fancy device to tell me what this number was, the plant did that. A quality light and the plant itself will talk to each other in a matter of hours sometimes, days in others, I just need observe. But what I have come to realize the past few years is that these numbers, found in simple instruments (apps for smart phones) give us a very specific area of where she is within all these spectrums. It allows us more precision and insight to what would otherwise be a possible weak or vulnerable spot within our grow. I’ll use mine on a new strain, and to verify any questions. They are easily accessible tools for the common gardner. When we adjust our lights we can measure what will be optimal for our plant. Using my case in point; from: 50% power or 890 PPFD at 18” to: 75% power or 1080 PPFD at 21” **if not raised 3” - that number would have been 1320 PPFD - likely damage the plant - or raised any higher there would be no real benefit in what I’m attempting to achieve - likely waste of power** The 2023 ViperSpectra XS2000 lights (the ones I use) come with a new switch now that go from 25, 50, 75, 100% power and no option in between. So that kind of put a kink in a week or two during my grows I have to work around. Going from 50-75% power is a big shift in light intensity, and these lights are bright. Knowing what that number is and being able to adjust the height precisely to avoid damage is reassuring. I appreciate advancements that make growing a little easier. In most personal grows during flower I’ll go well over 1000 PPFD depending on the strain tolerance, without C02. Here are my experiences why: 1) my set-up allows it, 2) that number only reflects the greatest reading at the highest point on the plant - my reports, 3) when the plant is budding it is absorbing much more photons than when in the leafy only stage - everything is accelerated - this is a totally different discussion, 4) the additional light provided will proportionally increase a higher yield, and finally, 5) some of todays theories on light will change in 5 years, as it has from 10 years before, we still have a lot to research. LEDs are definately cream of the crop, but there is something new to learn I’m sure. Until then I can only tweak what I have in search for a tighter bud, higher in THC. I said I would briefly discuss this subject. Everything is possible with lights. It is science that says the cannabis plant does not have to produce secondary metabolites (trichomes and cannabinoids), in some cases it may not. It produces them based on its environment. She returns to you what you dedicate toward her. Week 4 of flower for Lemon Orange by Greenhouseseedco, Shes also starting to dense up her flowers, her lowers unfortunately seem to not really be developing much whatsoever on the 16 top girls. Light penetration really letting me down here... 😒 Being watered every 2/3days.

Day 17 in bloom! Been a very great week for the purple urkle, she’s sprung into action and caught up to the other girls! If she continues to stretch I’ll be able to take her off her 4” block she’s stood on as I had to raise her to canopy a couple of weeks back! But she’s flowering perfectly and has so many bud sites! 😊 she’ll now be fed with the big bud booster for 2 weeks!
