Completing their first week of bloom. They’ll be measured again on Sunday but going into flower they sat at 42”. There was a runt and I was able to hoist up the xxl autopot to even out the canopy before flipping. I did a heavy defoliation but you’d never know. I’ll wait until stretch is over and really get in there to open up the airflow. Super healthy and very vibrant. Constantly praying and up taking Lotus extremely well. I expect a 10-11 week bloom. Finally received a couple of humidifiers to test from the local shop. These shitty low cost humidifiers will not really do, I can only have them on non stop until the water runs out. If I connect them to a sensor that switches them off, it won't go back on because it doesn't have a mechanical switch, I have to press on each time. Still, let's see if this helps my poor dry leafs a little bit

This one was great to grow. Great structure, great smel and taste, full of resin and beautiful colors. You could really feel the gelato in this runtz, with just enough of GMO to make you wonder what's the other taste you're getting. Full hybrid, could really take the high each way I wanted! Loved it, hope to do this one again in the future (:

My plant is growing pretty well. She has developed many new nodes, since I used fertilizer last wednesday. I want to top her next wednesday or so, becuase of my limited tent-height. I also put the light from 14 DLI to 20 DLI. I want to increase the intensity every day a bit more to let her slowly adapt. Edit: I rotated her so that she can absorb light evenly and therefore grow evenly. Update 08.04.24: Some roots have reached the surface, so I decided to cover them with some new soil. I also decided to top her today and bend some of her leafes down. Update 09.04.24: I actually didn't want to start LST until next week. The topping is actually intended to strengthen the growth of the secondary branches, but a few of these branches received little light. That's why I decided to start with LST now and continue to enable the growth of the secondary branches.

🚂 Cash Express – Pheno A Week 5 | Full Steam Ahead One of the most rewarding parts of documenting an entire phenotype hunt is watching every individual plant write its own story. Even though this lady shares the same room as several of her sisters, she’s following her own timeline with complete confidence. Welcome back to another week of the 8×8 Adventure! For anyone discovering this diary for the first time, this project follows multiple phenotypes under identical environmental conditions using the 12/12 From Seed method. Instead of forcing flowering by changing the light schedule, every plant receives 12 hours of light from the day she germinates, allowing each phenotype to decide for itself when it’s ready to reproduce. Cash Express Pheno A has made her decision. There are no doubts anymore… Flowering has officially begun. ⸻ 🌼 The First Flowers This week the plant truly announced the beginning of her reproductive stage. Fresh white pistils are now appearing across every growing tip, marking the first real flower sites. Those tiny white hairs are far more than just pretty decorations. Each pistil is part of the female flower and serves as the structure that would naturally receive pollen in nature. In an indoor sinsemilla grow, however, they become the foundation for the beautiful resin-covered buds we’re all hoping to harvest later. It’s always one of my favourite moments in a grow. The transition from “plant” to “flowering plant” has officially started. Although she’s still compact, every day now brings noticeable changes as the flowering sites become more defined. ⸻ 💧 AutoPot Life Like her Blueberry Muffin sister growing beside her, this phenotype has now fully transitioned onto the AutoPot irrigation system. Instead of watering from the top every day, the plants now feed themselves whenever they need moisture. At the heart of the system is the AquaValve. This clever little mechanical valve keeps a shallow reservoir inside each tray, automatically opening and closing as the plant drinks. Once the tray is empty, fresh nutrient solution flows in again, creating a continuous wet-and-dry cycle without electricity or timers at each pot. It allows the roots to decide when to feed rather than relying on my watering schedule. So far… She’s absolutely loving it. ⸻ 🍽️ Feeding & A Small Observation This week’s reservoir was prepared using: • Terra Grow – 1.8 ml/L • Terra Bloom – 1.9 ml/L • Power Buds – 1 ml/L The reservoir remains intentionally simple for AutoPot use, allowing the solution to stay stable while circulating continuously. During this week’s inspections I also noticed something worth documenting. Several older fan leaves are beginning to show a gentle loss of colour. Nothing dramatic. No burnt tips. No rapid deterioration. Just a subtle lightening that suggests she’s beginning to ask for slightly more nutrition as flowering accelerates. Rather than immediately assuming a deficiency, I prefer making small adjustments and watching how the plant responds. For that reason I increased the EC slightly this week. Now the plant gets the opportunity to tell me whether that adjustment is enough. Growing is often less about reacting quickly… …and more about listening carefully. ⸻ 🌿 Environment The flowering room continues operating under stable conditions. • Day temperature averaged 31.1°C • Night temperature remained around 25°C • Solution temperature stayed near 21.6°C • Root zone remained approximately 21°C • Relative humidity averaged 72% • Atmospheric CO₂ measured roughly 639 ppm The humidity may appear a little high, but at this early flowering stage I’m still comfortable maintaining these levels while the plants continue stretching and building new flower sites. As flowering progresses and the buds begin gaining density, humidity will gradually come down to create an even safer environment for resin production and flower development. Everything follows the plan. ⸻ 📸 Behind This Week’s Photos This week’s gallery tells a very exciting story. The close-up photographs capture the explosion of fresh white pistils appearing from nearly every node, confirming that flowering is now fully underway. The side profiles show a compact but extremely healthy structure, while the overhead shots reveal an even canopy that should make excellent use of the flowering light over the coming weeks. Some of the photographs also document the slight paling of a few fan leaves. Rather than hiding these moments, I like including them because they remind us that plants constantly communicate. Sometimes they’re simply asking for a little more. Learning to recognise those conversations is part of becoming a better grower. (And yes… eagle-eyed viewers may notice the photo label accidentally says crash instead of cash. That’s entirely my mistake and will be corrected in the next update. Even diaries have typos sometimes! 😄) ⸻ 🔍 Looking Ahead Next week should be one of the most exciting stages yet. I expect the flowering sites to begin stacking more aggressively as the stretch continues. We’ll also be watching closely to see how the increased EC influences the slight leaf discoloration. If the colour stabilises, we’ll know the adjustment was enough. If not, the plant will simply tell us she needs a little more. Day 29 - She's bushed out to the fullest. This is a controversial, but I think essential part of growing. Trust me, what i had removed would have been a waste. I gave all sites there chance to achieve my desired height. Those that didnt, got the chop. Day 30 - Now that is a recovery! I will now focus on maintaining an even canopy. I will only pull down part of the plant that stretch faster. Day 31 - Wettable sulfur and Cali Carb before bud production fully sets in. Wettable sulfur will help with some pest management, not that I have any, powdery mildew, also not an issue, and increases terpene production. Cal Carb is a perfect pair for this as its a readily available source of calcium and carbon dioxide. Calcium seems to be a common deficiency in flower, and the plant loves CO2 during flower. This seems like a no brainer! She also got a nice feeding with some top dresses and water soluble nutrients. Loving the evidental daily changes this plant can produce! Day 32 - Continuing to pull branches down and move leaves for some of these lower sites. Can't help but to have the song, 'Let It Grow', from the Lorax, run through my head everytime I try to move leaves to help these lower sites get light, lol. Day 33 - Opening up as much as I can and tried to keep it all above the net. Vigorous rapid growth in both the plant and cover crop. Day 34 - Showing what it looks like before I take each days pic with the leaves tucked already. Getting hard to keep these leaves down! There's a few lowers I'll likely be snipping to help focus energy to better sites. Day 35 - Let's just take a moment and enjoy these beautiful flowers this amazing Common Buckwheat cover crop is showing off. If you dont know what Common Buckwheat does when growing in your soil, it helps gather phosphorus, attract beneficials, and can be cut down to make compost. Is this even the same plant from the beginning of this week!? Can't wait to see these buds start to stack!

Week 2 – Flowering Plants are now fully settled into the flowering phase, with clear development of early bud sites and visible pistils forming across the canopy. The stretch is still ongoing, with noticeable vertical growth and increased spacing between nodes. Structure remains strong and well balanced, allowing good light penetration and setting the foundation for proper bud development in the coming weeks. Nutrient program is now fully in bloom mode, running Bio Flores as the base, supported by Hungry Bacter, Glutton Bloom and Ultra Booster, while foliar feeding with Ultra Silk is being phased out. Environmental conditions remain stable, keeping plants healthy and stress-free during this key stage. Everything is progressing exactly as expected 🔥

Week 4 Day 3 Veg Only been 5 days since last post but I think Im going to flip these tomorrow I reckon they should fill out in first 2 weeks of flower. Really want to avoid a jungle given how close they all are to each other. All very healthy. One plant more on the LED side which makes it more filled out but tbf the plants on that side are much more vigouros, thicker stems and broader leaves etc. LED is controversial in bloom but in veg it kicks halide and florescent ass. Should I pull the net in tight and flip or what fam?

I am now flushing her with plain Brita filtered water PH'd with lime juice to lower her PH. I initially first flushed her with 42L of water and now I am flushing her once a day for 8 days and then I will put her in for darkness for 3 days and then I will harvest her and dry her for 9 days and then cure her for 28-48 days.

I did her second tie-down on day 22 actually. Day 24- I’m okay with the fan leaf laying on the surface for *now.* Just because I live in a high, dry desert with a consistent RH at around 20-25%. And also, because the top quarter inch of soil is dry. However I will probably be propping it up with something tomorrow morning. Day 25- finally I decided to fold down the rim of the pot for more light!

D8. We're at the start of the second week, and there isn't much to report. The girls are slowly getting taller and wider. The leaves of both plants show interveinal chlorosis, and the first one also has a tiny bit of a burn and twisted leaves. I suspect that is due to the girls growing right into the topdressing, and I'm hoping that it will correct itself as the girls get bigger with more substantial root systems. I prepared some foliar spray with fulvic acid and horticultural soap as a wetting agent for my other tent, so I also gave these girls a very light foliar spray. I might as well when I have extra :) ------------------------------ D9. The chlorosis is decreasing, but we have squatters in the tent! I've started germinating this year's chilis: Fidalgo Roxa, Jalapeño Early, Serrano, and Mushroom Yellow. I'll keep them in the tent as long as possible since it saves me some electricity. ------------------------------ D11. The second girl had a later and slower start, so she is lagging. Let's see if she catches up eventually. Soil is slowly losing moisture but still far from needing a watering. DLI set to 16. ------------------------------ D14. The end of the second week. By now, there's a clear size difference between the two girls, with the first being significantly larger. On the other hand, she also has twisted leaves, which the second girl doesn't have. One leaf is even a bit burnt. I tested the soil today, and it clocked in at a neutral pH of 7, so I doubt it is a pH issue. Instead, I suspect it is due to the topsoil being too "hot" with the top dressing I put on before the grow. In hindsight, it might have been better to wait with the top dressing until the plants had established themselves. Oh, well. We grow and learn. I still haven't given the girls any more water, so the fungus gnats get to enjoy life a while longer. Although, they haven't really become much of an issue. Still, the buggers have gotta go, and I'll water in SF nematodes to deal with them in a few days. I raised DLI to 20 yesterday. ------------------------------
