Update on strains: DS- Auto Kabul is a robust, hardy little plant. Not many lateral sides bud it has bid sites climbing throughout main colar and it has a heavy top 🙌💚 Light green in colour and smelling like a zesty gas. DG/GF- Auto XXL Ammo - She is such a tall, stretchy plant, with alot of leaf to bud ratio! I won't do this one again as she requires alot of height space I don't have. She has a garlic, ammonia pungent smell to her. DG/GF- Auto lemon zkittles 🍋- This is A typical Christmas 🎄 tree shape plant, beautiful strong structure, resilient to pest. And has nice lateral sides with a bit of LST it would Unlock her true potential. She has a heavy main colar. Light green in colour dripping in trichomes, and smells like candy/ Z terps.

Hey! Welcome to week 8! Karen is mid way through her flowering stretch. Please check back to last week as I update daily so the week is now complete. I count about 20 colas now. Day 51: Have reconfigured the tent, see video. Karen is now 36cm and still stretching. Karen has more light now. Smell is still there hits you when you open the tent. Fertigated 2l. Day 52: Height: 39cm. Karen's scent is heavenly. I have reconfigured again and installed some upgrades. Better reflector. Much bigger carbon filter. Increased airflow. Better config. More efficient pot layout. Karen is lovely. I am grateful to her and for her, so I wrote her a little poem, I hope she liked it. "Karen! Oh Karen! The phoenix of flowers, Three lowly weeks she struggled in vain, Shadowed and starved for five hundred hours, He slowly wept to witness her pain. Karen! Oh Karen! She set a pace, a pace she maintained, Now shes a girl at the peak of her powers, And so I'm a geek, with buds on the brain." Day 53: Approx 48h into a simulated dry spell. Alright I think it is time for Karen to get her first MAJOR defoliation. I will update shortly with photos and info. I will also be doing some gentle LST to separate the colas a bit. Day 53.5: Defoliation and LST. Finally got chance to photograph that bunda. Enjoy! Day 53.75: Bit of a fail. Messed up the timer and the lights ended up being off for about 3 or 4 hours. Because I was cooling the room (open window) to keep temperature in the tent down, without any light the temperatures absolutely plummeted as it is sub-zero outside. By the time I realised and turned the lights on, the temp in the main tent had dropped to 14 degrees celsius. Whoops! How is that for mistreating your girl? Defoliated about 80% of her leaves, 4 nodes, significant LST, then stuck her in the cold and dark for 1/6 of a day. Not to mention she is now almost 3 days into a "dry spell". There do not seem to be ill effects, and Karen has already begun to respond to the LST; all the colas that had been changed in angle are now upright again. The dry spell I keep mentioning, there is a method behind my madness, I have spotted one or two small flies and I think they may be fungus gnats. I am starting to suspect that the 2nd seedling in the Purple OG Punch Auto grow was actually beheaded by fungus gnat larvae. So I am drying out the mediums as much as I dare. I am closely monitoring the plants, so far the only one I have had to break the drought for is Enigma; all the girls in big pots haven't even noticed it's dry yet. How far am I going to push it? Well I will judge it on a plant by plant basis, but quite honestly I am hoping to see physical signs of thirst before I breakdrought. Of all the plants the two I think will respond most strongly to this will be Karen and Bertha, because of where they are. Karen here is actually probably 4 weeks into flowering rather than two, so about now is a good time to give her a little hydration stress. I do not think I will push it past 5 days, as RH is 34%. By now all the plants will be compensating for the lack of moisture and the high temperatures and low humidity. They will be taking more and more moisture out of the coco, and as the coco dries further and further down, those plants that have space will start desperately growing roots to find moisture. Mark my words, 24 hours after I end this drought, every plant in the tent will throw out crazy growth. Day 54: Ended drought and fertigated 6l, no run off, I will re-fertigate tomorrow. Karen is still stretching her height post LST is now 37cm. The two tallest colas seem to have stopped but the other colas are still stretching. Day 55: Alright so it has been 5 hours since lights on, and Karen is looking in good shape, all her drooping leaves have perked back up and she has added quite a bit of foliar growth. The colas are all still rising, except perhaps the two tallest. This girl is absolutely loaded with pistils, I'm starting to see trichomes on the sugar leaves, but trich production hasn't started in earnest yet. She has a least 20 colas, and 6 of them are thicker/taller than the primary cola at her tip. Every one of her nodes has reinforced itself with a bulbous growth and these cola branches are swelling rapidly. I am increasingly of the opinion that, all being well, this girl is going to surprise us all with her yield. My first grow, which was just mucking about really, I got 60-70g of the two main plants, and they were just bare sticks with 2 colas. Although her height is less than theirs was, 2/3 of their height was bare stick... whereas every mm of her is befoliaged and living. So in terms of the height of the actual cola I think they were about comparable in usable space on a per cola basis. The main difference being that Karen has 20+ colas whereas they had 2 primary and 2 lower. I know that it is probably unrealistic to expect more than 70g from a single auto grown indoors. Nevertheless my gut tells me this baby could achieve at least 100g, perhaps as much as 150g. The next few weeks will determine that, but given where we were in week 3 I will be grateful for any yield of quality bud. I have dropped the lights down to 18/6 from 'tonight' onwards. I really have no idea how long we have left for Karen. According the the "brochure" she flowers for 7-8 weeks, with a total crop time of 9 weeks. The problem is I don't know what a total crop time is? Does that mean from seed to finish? If so Karen is clearly not going to be anywhere near that timescale.I am going to go ahead an assume that, for my plant anyway, the first 4 weeks were veg weeks. I think it is fair to count week 5 and 6 as flowering because pistils were popping out very early in week 5 if not before. So that makes this week four of flowering. I am going to assume 8 weeks rather than 7, so I think we have another 4 full weeks give or take a week. On that basis I am expect harvest week to be around week 12 or so. I am not fixed on this though, I am determined not to harvest this girl early. Day 55: Photos taken 00:00 9/3/23 Strong 24h of veg growth as predicted. Day 56: Existing leaves continue to swell. Stretch appears to be slowing. I've taken so many media this week that I cannot scroll down far enough to select a recent thumbnail. Probably Karen's biggest week in terms of changes. She is looking like she is going to impress. Height 39cm.

LSTd Mr Squatty. He so very small, decided he's a "he" even though he's not. Growth all-be-it slow is very even, like a well made bed. As long as it's slow I'm okay to wait but all in, it will do what it's gonna do.

14/02/22: the plants have had their final defolitation so they can really concentrate on building bigger buds in the final weeks before harvest. Some colas look ready and others not... have had to add my garden sticks to support the plants.

Week 2 begins, not much to report other than the pro-mix HP hasn't dried out enough to warrant another feeding.

November 2nd. 33 days post flip. Nothing crazy this week. Very light defoliation every couple days. At this point I am guaranteed no more defoliation to day 49. Along with this nothing but water this week. Plants should be able to get to the finish line with no added nutrients I’m really happy with bud development so far. They are not the largest yet but they are very very healthy and plentiful. They should really fatten up over these next few weeks. Temps have been running around 82 during the day. Because of this I’ll be adding two more small fans to the tent. One blowing on the medic grow, and one along the bottom of the canopy. I am doing this to ensure these buds stay compact. Both of the clones of the purple marmalades could not be happier. Really happy in their pots growing away slowly. The trick to keeping them small is using small fabric pots so their roots air prune, 24h light to severely limit root development and heavy defoliations whenever they get too happy. At this point in flower it is time to start giving more detailed descriptions of our 3 phenos so here we go. Plant#1(cherry chunks): 27” tall. Musty almost earthy scent. Kinda similar to pine. Weak scent so far. Appears to have the most densely populated Trichomes out of these three plants. Plant #2(Purple Marmalades): 30” tall. Smells absolutely insane. Like this is a terp monster. Very citrusy. Smells exactly like grapefruit. Very high concentration of valencene. Extremely strong scent. Also appears this one will have the largest buds of the three but only time can tell here. This one is my favorite one so far Plant #3(Purple Marmalade): 28” tall. Light scent of pepper mixed with a tiny bit of lemon. This is my first Grow Report at first i thought i messed up some seeds because 2 of them was for about 24 hours under SANlight so i have plant new seeds from Norden Seeds , Nordic Gorilla Glue, but only one died and maybe that was my bad too so at the moment i not sure which plant has which genetics but we will see more in the flowering stage , i hope this is my last time i flush seeds out of the soil 😅 Germination Method was 24H glass of water and then 24H Paper Towel Germination start 16.7.2024 first leaves 19.7.2024 ( 2 out of 6 ) water i used : osmosis water with calmag ( proled )

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. Another easy week for the chibans. I feel bad i did not include little chiban 2 in the diary. She was topped a while back and is much much smaller then her sister but her structure and growth i am pleased with. Glad i kept her now.. Number 1 is just a monster!! i cut her i have snapped and bent her but each time i come out the next day and she has just repaired whatever i have done and im sure if she could she would be holding her middle finger up at me as i walked in!! She is huge (relative to the space i have) I have never spent so much effort on past grows maintaing the perfect enviroment as i have on this grow and what it has shown me is huge.. Get this right and it seems they just do their thing.. Now she is flipped and in pre flower i am a little scared of what she will become.. Good job my tiny grow space is over 2M tall. Feeding is strange as they dont want too much. At the start of potting i mixed in ecothrive charge into the substrate and i have to say this stuff is amazing. I gave the first feed of nutes to these i think a week ago and it was a weak mix of grow and it gave them talons on the leaf tips which i took as a sign of N toxicity. So i think i could have stretched another week out of just water and beneficials. I will remember for next run. thats it really, i will be keeping an eye this week on the enviroment again as previous weeks and watching for any changes in requirements. As for the smell, the smell is beautiful and too strong. And as for the yield, what I see now, kind of average, nothing special... So I will avoid RF3 in the future. I'll stick to the old gold...

Was a good week, no issues just good ol' bud growth. Sitting back and watching the buds grow is by far my favorite past time hahaha. On Day 31F/94S gave the girls their top dressing of Power Bloom while watering at lights on. Day 33 pulled maybe 6-8 fan leaves off #2 and #3, was getting a bit thick where they meet and good bud sites were being covered. So ya was a pretty smooth week, watering 16L (4L each) every 3 days and they're still happy. Came home from work mid week and went down to basement was slapped by a strong weed smell, guess it was time to replace the carbon filter, oops! Reversed the flanges on it and it helped a lot but still smelling. This filter has got a hard 8 months of use in, might still be fine for when plants not SO smelly but not in last third of flower. Fan is running harder now too, max 8 of 10 when lights out day after watering. Glad everything is automated, so much easier than first indoor grow with manual controls. Hope this week goes well 🤞
