Day 6 - defoliation of tainted leaves and LST training

The end is in sight! This round with 8 plants in 4 pots (=2 GIRLS IN A CUP) of BANANA KRUMBLE (=Banana Punch x OG-Kush) from GREENHOUSE SEEDS is now in week 15 since germination. They are now flowering since 9 weeks and are starting to fade, that means they start to get ripe. All big fan-leaves are now red or yellow colored and start to wilt away. This is a sign the plant will be ready to harvest soon. In the pics and the VIDEO you can clearly see the purple/reddish coloration of the top-buds and the THICK LAYER of TRICHOMES they have. It is AMAZING to see and I cant wait to try this strain after its harvested and dried. All main- and sidebranches have developed into HUGE COLAS and the bud-structure is very compact...in one word: DANK! The aroma of the BANANA KRUMBLE is sweet and fruity (reminds me of ripe bananas with a hint of cinnamon!) and overwhelmingly STRONG! Every time I open the tent a THICK CLOUD of SWEEY SMELL greets me, its ASTOUNDING! My 3 SANlight LED-lamps still hang at 40 cm distance from the top of the plants. The two Q4W-Gen.2 fixtures on the outside are running at 100% (=3 green lights on dimmer ON) and the Q3WL-Gen.2 in the center is dimmed to 80% (=two green lights on dimmer ON). The HUGE size and compact bud structure shows that the plants LOVE the SPECTRUM and the INTENSITY of the SANlight LEDs. Since I use BIOTABS-nutrients I do NOT NEED TO FLUSH the plants! They only got tab-water all the time, therefore it makes no sense to give them more water of it now. All the nutrients in the soil and the plants should be used up by now (that why the plants start to wilt!) and that ensures a smooth smoke later. When you smoke unflushed weed any nutrients left in the plant matter (especially phosphorus (=P)) will create a harsh feeling in your throat and make you cough, therefore its normally of the UTMOST importance to flush your weed before harvesting. Now its only one more week and harvest time is here...yipppiiie

Not a whole lot going on this week. Did some light trimming and removed the wires. Main stem on all 4 are nice and flat, going to let the girls veg out for a few weeks and just grow up wards. Moved the lights up 16 inches to let them stretch out. I also switched light cycles.. read an article that mentioned a lot of benefits to having 8 hours on and 4 hours off. Specifically I've noticed a lot of benefits ik terms of cooling and environmental control. I havent had to push water bottles into my buckets ar all this week. And it seems to be growing at a normal rate.

In the beginning i was alittle concerned because of the automaticStrain in a Microgrow. But those Ladies took all like " Bosses". The Rabbit and the lil white Sheep produced lots of Flowers. What a Journey, I enjoyed this "Egghunt " so much Last Decemmber @Silky_smooth, wrote me, if i want to participate into a Challenge called " Egghunt" That means growing a Plant from Seed into 50g Of Soil// Medium That means as much as fit into an Eggshell. So i did not think a lot and said yes. And the " EGGHUNT" begun. I started looking for funny // sweet little Growcontainers, and I found some Fancy ones. Black Sheeps, white Sheeps, ( Eggcups) , and some Tealightholders, one like a Rabbit, and a " Bridge" i filled Soil into the Cups, and Into the Sheepcups were under 10 gram of Soil. The " cups" from the Bridge had 35 g Sooooo... challenge accepted!! In the Beginning it was hard to me not to overwater them.But they Mastered my drownings very well After 14 Days i had to manage the Feeding of the Girls. Until that time they only got Beneficals and the Nutes from the 10g Soil. But i got some help from my Growmies, how to feed them , ( not over and underfeed).....Stoney gave me the Hint for an EC of 1000-1200 And so i did it I mixed bigger amounts of Feedingsolution, and the little Cups were diving into the Feedingsolution daily. I could see they got nice color and look fresh again. The bigger they got, the more they liked to drink Then i switched after 5 Weeks from Vegetation into Floweringmode. So they were diving 2 times in the Day into the Feedingsolution. not every Day, but very often.. From there on, it became much easier to me. Because i could see what they need. And the Fun began. Buds were swelling, and Flowers were smelling. In the last 2 Weeks i topdressed with laygranules, to keep humidity into the Cups Until we reached Today.. So Today i cut them and ooked into the cups, and i got to say,,, i could snot see any sooil, only ROOTS.... Solid , totally woven Roots. Most of the Soil was flushed away from the divings. But Plants looked good until last Day CONCLUSION: I learned so much in this Challenge.I learned so much about Watering/Feeding.. and having Fun on the Little Things I feel like i have Grown, together with my little Plants. I feel very confident to do Soilless/ DWC or any other grow hahaha... I feel like i can grow everything... Hello growers and tokers! 👋 👩‍🌾 🧑‍🌾.🔥💨 This strain is a monster!! Grows so fast, it's amazing! Topped and trained her first day of the week, a few days later she was already growing vigorously!! 💪 🚀 Also cleared up some bottom growth that wasn't going to reach up evenly.. after topping she keeps growing upwards and fast so I might have to tie down those top colas or maybe even top them, haven't decided yet.. All I know is she's going to be HUGE for this tiny balcony. 😍 😁 I'm not sure how much direct light the balcony will be receiving when she starts to flower.. I'm going to wait a couple of weeks and after seeing how she grows I might cut off some more bottom growth or not, let's see. This week heat went up and humidity down like crazy. Effect: Expectations and training method: I know these genetics are a bit delicate so I’ll be taking things very easy. The breeder suggests topping and training the branches because she can grow fast and tall. By what I’ve seen from the local growers, she can produce some savory chunky buds which is what I’m aiming for. I’ll follow the breeder’s suggestion and Top/LST which is what I’ll be doing to almost all my other strains as well on this run. As for the yields I’m not expecting much given the numbers I got from local growers. No more than 40 grams per plant but always aiming for more. I’ve already smoked this strain grown by the breeder and other local breeders, which is what made me want to grow it myself. I expect nothing but trichomes and terps from these ladies. The final day arrived. She got all her trichomes filled up with milk and around 5% Amber while flushing for the last 6-7 days. It took her around 60 days of flowering to reach this point. Smells like the coffeeshops in Amsterdam. Let’s see how long it takes to dry.

She's getting close! Into week 9 of flower. She's definitely packing on the weight and she is super resinous. I'm going to start the flush now. I think I'm going to give her 2 more weeks and then its chop time. The buds are looking beautifully dense and delicious. Can't wait to smoke one.
