Lemon Cherry Gelato — Final Strain Review
Rating:
11/10
Yeah, the system only allows 10.
But honestly… this one goes beyond that for us.
Not because it was “perfect.”
But because it delivered something special in almost every stage of the process.
And that matters more.
This review is not based on breeder descriptions.
Not hype.
Not internet comments.
This is simply our humble opinion after growing her from seed to cured medicine under a full 12/12-from-seed run.
And honestly?
Lemon Cherry Gelato became one of those cultivars that reminds you why you fall in love with this plant in the first place.
Growth & Structure
One of the first surprises was how naturally well-balanced these girls behaved under 12/12 from seed.
Compact plants.
Short internodes.
Strong branching.
Fast flowering response.
Heavy stacking.
No crazy stretching.
No uncontrollable canopy.
No weak floppy structure.
Just dense, productive plants that focused their energy directly into flower production.
And despite staying relatively compact physically…
the weight became VERY real.
By late flower:
- stems thickened heavily,
- branches started leaning,
- flowers hardened dramatically,
- and resin production became honestly ridiculous.
These girls were absolute chunk producers.
Not giant fluffy colas.
Dense.
Heavy.
Golf-ball-to-baseball-sized stacks everywhere.
And the root development explained a lot afterward too.
Beautiful root colonization.
Healthy structure.
Aggressive substrate occupation.
The plants clearly wanted to grow hard from beginning to end.
️ Harvest & Trimming
Trimming this cultivar was honestly enjoyable.
Dense flowers.
Excellent calyx formation.
Very satisfying structure to work with.
And ridiculously resinous.
The scissors stayed sticky constantly.
Gloves became blackened with resin quickly.
Finger hash accumulated almost automatically during handling.
And honestly?
That usually tells you everything you need to know.
Some cultivars look frosty.
Some cultivars FEEL frosty.
This one felt greasy.
Alive.
Rich.
The kind of resin that starts melting from body heat alone.
The little temple balls made during trimming turned soft and workable incredibly fast with almost no effort.
Massive compliment to the resin quality there.
Drying & Curing
The flowers dried beautifully.
10-day dry:
- roughly 18–20°C
- around 60% RH after initial moisture release
- gentle indirect airflow
Exactly the kind of slow controlled environment dense flowers need.
And the cure transformed everything even further.
This is where Lemon Cherry Gelato became genuinely special.
Because the terpene profile evolved HARD during cure.
Fresh:
- sweet,
- loud,
- fruity,
- bright.
Cured:
- deeper,
- creamier,
- warmer,
- more layered,
- more mature.
The final aroma became one of the most unique profiles we’ve personally experienced.
Sweet tropical woods.
Creamy fruit.
Warm resin.
Soft earthy backend.
And this unmistakable pine-nut-like aroma.
Not pine tree.
Pine seeds.
That warm nutty oily sweetness mixed with tropical fruit and wood.
Honestly beautiful.
And the smoke quality?
Extremely smooth.
No throat aggression.
No harsh burn.
No green taste.
Just properly cured medicine.
The kind of flower where inhale and exhale actually match each other.
That’s rarer than people think.
Effects
This is where Lemon Cherry Gelato truly shines.
This is happy medicine.
Not sleepy.
Not couch-lock.
Not overwhelming.
Just beautiful balanced euphoric energy.
Uplifting.
Social.
Creative.
Warm.
Comfortable.
The kind of flower that:
- makes conversations flow,
- makes music feel richer,
- makes food taste better,
- makes beach walks longer,
- and randomly makes people laugh
Perfect daytime-to-evening cultivar.
Excellent for:
- social settings,
- creative work,
- movies,
- gaming,
- nature,
- long talks,
- and honestly just enjoying life.
And despite being uplifting, it never felt chaotic or anxious for us.
Very balanced mentally.
Functional happiness.
That’s probably the best way to describe it.
Resin & Hash Potential
Outstanding.
Seriously outstanding.
Finger hash quality already showed it immediately during trimming.
Greasy.
Sticky.
Soft.
Easy to work.
And honestly we suspect this cultivar would wash extremely well too based purely on resin behavior and gland quality.
Very oily trichome expression.
Very promising extraction cultivar.
Storage & Long-Term Potential
Another thing we loved:
this cultivar keeps evolving positively during cure.
Some strains peak early.
This one keeps opening slowly over time:
- deeper sweetness,
- softer smoke,
- richer aroma,
- more rounded effects.
The jars genuinely became better week after week.
That’s always a huge sign for us.
Final Thoughts
Lemon Cherry Gelato gave us:
- beautiful structure,
- fantastic density,
- excellent resin production,
- smooth smoke,
- unique terpene profile,
- happy uplifting effects,
- and an honestly memorable cultivation experience overall.
One of those cultivars where the entire process stays enjoyable:
from growth…
to trimming…
to curing…
to smoking.
And that’s rare.
Huge respect to the breeders at Zamnesia for this one.
Seriously.
This wasn’t just hype flower.
This was genuinely excellent medicine.
Would we grow her again?
Without even thinking twice
