I need help!!! I am growing this in my basement using the pot for pot kit and the jack Here auto flower. I have no idea what I am doing and I am not sure how long before I should harvest. On December 6th of 2020 the see was germinated and had a little leaf (see picture of seed pod.

How long does it take for this strain to be ready to harvest? I have read from 9 weeks to 12 and I am on week 11 and I have no idea what I am doing. HELP!!! I have a million questions. Why are my leafs turning yellow?

it looks okay, some yellowing leafs are from calcium deficiency , but if you have access to nutrients , right about now would be a good time to add PK booster and humic acid. Other than that, you won't like hearing it, but you probably have a good 4 weeks ahead of you before it reaches it's potential, could be sooner, what you have to do is check the trichomes with a 50x or 60x magnifier to be sure, just looks at the "frost" if the little bulbs are transparent it's not ready yet, you want fully white milky. Hope this helps ! 🚀

So, I took another picture using my jewelers head magnifying thingi. I am trying to figure out the trichomes “look” that it’s supposed to be the harvest marker. I sure wish there were pictures to compare. Here is what I got by using the jewelers thingi and my cell camera.

The old school and simple way to tell when its ready is by the colour of your Pistols/Hairs.When half 50% have turned Amber/Brown then start flushing because its ready when 75% of the hairs are Amber. There's no mistaking that one my friend.I learnt that in 93,lol.

Hi! I'm sorry but I disagree with the "hair" method because it's completely unreliable. Other parameters, like humidity or nutrient issues, can have effect of the pistil colour. For example, if I had followed this rule for one my latest grow, I would have cut the plant 3 weeks earlier than by looking at the trichomes, just because at this time the plant had running low in phosphorus and new flowers grow slower, resulting in more amber pistils. The trichome method is the only reliable way to identify when harvest, because that's where the cannabinoids are stored and you can literally see them. It's up to you to choose if you like more you weed with high/cerebrals effects (more cloudy trichomes) or stone/body effects (amber trichomes). But it's not easy to see the trichomes with the poor quality of a compressed camera-phone image, you may have a better view with your bare eyes through your magnifier, or may need a better one (grow shops generally cheap plastic ones who does the job). Real camera with good macro lens can also work (this is how I watch the flowers and make photos for my diaries). Colours of the leaves are also a good indications of the maturity of the plant. Purple colouration and senescence are generally signs of the maturity of the plant (but may not happened at all).

Okay, so I have read about “flushing” you grow. Why, when and How?

WHY - to remove any residual mineral salts from artificial fertilizers out of your plants cells. WHEN - approximately 7-10 days before your expected harvest day is adequate. HOW - by giving just plain water for those last 7-10 days. Flushing much longer than 7-10 days sees plant health decline rapidly in my experience, and in my opinion, an unhealthy plant can not support healthy cannabinoids. Hope this helps,........ Organoman.

So, I lined the area I am using with Mylar and I have a small space heater in there. The temperature is around 75ish. Is that good?

Yep, 75 is pretty good for Jack Herer. It also prefers it a little on the dry side, so try to keep RH to 40‐50%. Honestly, JH is pretty resilient, you can beat up on them and they won't even flinch.

Am I ready to harvest? I am new at this so I bought a wifi scope to look at the trichomes, but to be hones it is still confusing but my plant is looking pretty sad so I wanted to see if she’s ready to harvest. Are these milky enough? Should I harvest just parts of the plant?

What you are looking for is mostly cloudy, from the photos looks like you have that. If you get too much amber trichomes, it starts converting THC to CBN or so I have read. Your can go just till you start to see amber that is fully matured and must be harvested ASAP.

I found these in my grow place. I have not seen them before so I am not sure if they just showed up or they were in the plant. I think they are some kind of rice bug. Can you tell me if I should be concerned or what they are?

Looks like a snout beetle. Diet: Nearly all adult weevils and snout beetles feed on plants, though they vary greatly in their preferences for eating stems, leaves, seeds, roots, flowers, or fruits.

Hello, I am not sure if I did this correctly so for this strain do these buds look okay? Also, how long do I let them hang drying?

Looks ok doesn't appear to be dry all depends on your area of where you dry

Keep drying until you can snap the small stems when you bend them. For dry trimming I like to take off more of the fan leaves before hanging and taking off all the dead brown leaves also.

do you want to do wet trimming? or dry trimming ? or no trimming at all=?..... for curing them well you may neeed 2-3 weeks. and it is like nastyfish said if the branches snap with aloud sound plants maay be cured, and ready to smoke happy harrvesttime i would hang them on a airry place . protect them from direct sunlight. in sumer i let my buds dry on a clothes rack, and i cover the buds with alinen. to protect the trichomes

@Papi62034, nah you're alright growmie ! yeah it could take longer and will surely take longer, but it does pay off. There's not been a breeder with useful timelines for their genetics yet. think more like if the breeder has two or three different length that's quick , medium and long more than an exact thing. By the way the pictures with the jeweller's loupe is not there yet, you need much stronger magnification than that, but you have plenty of time to find what you're looking for (60x magnification for comfort, 50x is minimum) hope this helps ! 🚀

@CRiSPrGrow, Thank you you did. I think it is that I have a million different questions. You said that I had about 3-4 weeks still, so this plant can take longer than 12 weeks to harvest? Is there an issue if I am “late” harvesting? I am sorry if I am breaking some protocol here and need to post these elsewhere. Thank you for answering my question. Could the. Yellowing be because it is I’m my basement sitting on the concrete and it is around 65 degrees?

@Smokwiri, It does smell really good, but I thought the smell would be more noticeable from a distance. I can only smell it if I get right up on it. Is this normal?
