Day 0, 17.03.2021 Seeding Day
This time I will grow 2 Diesel Automatic side by side. The left one with 150ml fertilizer, the right one with 300ml.(see below)
My target is a simple, reliable, low maintenance grow, allowing for a few days absence.
I only use solid organic nutrients mixed to the soil at the beginning, and none afterwards. Autoflowering strain, HomeBox Ambient Q60, Automatic watering with AutoPot 8,5L Easy2Grow Modules, Hazelbeam 2 270W LED lights with 18/6 timer, Small rotating fan.The only thing I do is Topping after about 20 days and maybe a little LST afterwards if they get to big.
Grow medium:
3L BioBizz Light Mix
3L Perlite
150ml Flo Organics (www.florganics.de)
(300ml for the right one)
Fertilizer mixed in lower 2/3 of soil.
Day 4, first sprout on right side.
Day 5, both seedlings are there.
Day 22, 10cm, 12cm
Day 24, 13cm, 15cm - large brown spots on lower leaves. maybe a pH problem, but this is difficult to address with my automatic watering system.
Day 26 16cm, 19cm; lower leaves still getting worse, upper leaves ok
Day 28 20cm, 24cm
Day 30, 24cm, 27cm, lower leaves still with brown spots, but not getting worse.
Day 32, 27cm, 30cm
Day 35, 34cm, 37cm, not very vigorous. pH=6,5 seems ok, but it's this reliable?
Day 44, 43cm, 45cm: about 2/3 of the size I expected. Most probably pH problem. The pH of my water tank is 7,3 pH, the one of the earth is at least 7 pH. That's too much, and surely the basis for all my problems in the last month. I will probably get some destilled water and mix it with a little tap water to get something about 6,2 pH. (I will do some tests with pH down, but I suppose the pH will go up again after a few days)
Day 50, 43cm, 45cm - still too small, but flowering. I suppose this small size is due to pH problems. I checked the earth and water pH. Tap water pH is too high, earth pH is fine before adding water. It seems I can solve this by using destilled water instead of tap water. I already changed the water, but this will probably not change anything for the moment, due to the latency of my watering system.
I will start the next grow directly with destilled water and see if this helps.
Day 65: a few days more. doesn't look beautiful, but that's my fault for sure. I'll be away for a few days, and will probably harvest in 10 days.
Day 66: many pistils are golden, but the trichomes are still more clear than milky
I will have to change something in my setup. All last harvests were much below what I was used to. The only obvious deficiency is the water which has a to high pH value. I will adjust that, and see if it helps.
