Two seeds popped. Glass of water for 6 hours followed by coco seed starter. One immediately looked sick and died shortly after. This was after more than five other seeds from Canuk failed to pop (a first) and they never responded to customer service requests. I spoke to others who got ripped off by Canuk in the same way after previously getting good seeds. These crap seeds were pale and small. The one that ultimately grew was the best looking seed.
Some slightly yellowing. Following this I gave one small diluted feeding of Dutch A+B. After that the dry amendment (Mother Earth organic) did the trick just fine.
Explosive bushy growth without topping. Very surprising. Have not yet had to really start training because it’s low. Big bushy leaves. Very healthy looking.
Explosive growth. Very bushy. Have not done any pruning. Began LST by pinning down the centre node. Responds very quickly to LST needing to be re tied every 12 hours. Very minor LST on some fan leaves to also push sideways and give space.
Flowering begins with gusto. Printed several leaves to make room and a few low node growths that are close to the main stem. I decide against that since it’s an auto I will allow some low node growth and won’t lollipop.
Continuing to do LST with plant ties. Main node is no longer fighting for dominance but I kept pushing it further to the side to allow for larger canopy. Otherwise MINIMAL LST. I know it looks like I’m doing a lot but I’m not. I also added like a tablespoon or whatever it says of the Gaia Green bloom formula.
Smell is extremely potent. Have increased the exhaust fan activity. Pruning dead leaves and some of the excessive fan leaves. Don’t want mold. Mold gnats or whatever have been a pest the whole time too and remain so. I give up on beating them. Long story. Decided I’m just going to wash the buds in the end anyways.
The colour is starting to come out after night time temp was lowered from 20 c to 14.5 c lowest temp (18c avg overnight). The smell shifted from skunk to diesel to now citrus and tropical fruits. Smells mouth watering. Buds are ridonculously sticky. Even mango meringue which was super potent was not this sticky. A few more days of light and then give it 48 hrs darkness.
Got just over a QP. Pretty good for an auto flower! Overall about 1/3 midsize buds, 1/3 large, and 1/3 under developed/wispy. However the under developed ones are still very frosty. They don’t smoke as well and so will be useful for edibles, but since they dried faster I was able to smoke them at least while waiting for larger buds. Great smoke for anytime. Totally clear headed in the day time and relieves pain from muscles and nerves. Not distracting at all but a slight head pressure at higher amounts. No eye pressure or other undesirable side effects. The resin sticks to your lips requiring mouth wash after smoking. This is the strongest of the auto flowers I’ve grown. While I probably preferred northern lights for its taste I find this is adequate to give me the same level of medication while having been quicker to grow. I also enjoyed using dry amendment nutrients due to how much easier it made it. If I could do it over I would have added some
Extra nutrients during flower to try and get more growth, but this was my first time with these nutrients so I played it safe. QP is really a good result for this quality as that was actually my goal and I’m over it
