Crossing Blue Dream and OG Kush!

Day 1- All my seeds popped, now to wait and find out if I’ve got any males out of the OG seeds. Numbered the plants by the order they popped up in. Only took about 3 or 4 days total I do believe. In about 2 weeks I’ll transplant into bigger pots and start feeding with more than just unsulphured blackstrap molasses in the water at 25% strength except for the root booster which will be at 100% strength.

Day 8- Well I think I got what I wanted with the OG Kush, I’m pretty sure the bigger one is a male and the smaller one is a female. I think I’ll just flower these together in the solo cups in another room and collect some of the pollen from the male for later use. The Blue Dream seedlings are pretty much exactly the same size, genetics seem to be pretty stable. Put some molasses in the water again today, they seem to like it but we’ll see if it makes a difference early on or not. After the first 2 weeks I’m gonna transplant the Blue Dream into 5 gallon pots and start the nutrient regimen.

Day 15- Transplanted these yesterday before I turned the lights out for about 4 hours. The OG Kush1 was too big for the solo cups so it was a little under watered along with one of the Blue Dream but they bounced back quickly once I transplanted them. I used up all my soil because one of the bags busted and I didn’t want to let any dry out and go to waste. Gave each about 1/2 a liter of nutrient solution after transplant also. Day 18- Topped the two OG Kush and one of the Blue Dream, I’m gonna start the other BD with LST instead and check out the differences.

Day 22- This starts a new week and I must say I’m really pleased with the outcome of the topping. I’m looking forward to seeing the difference in yield between the two Blue Dreams. I fed em each .5L of nutrient solution at 50% strength, next week I’ll go up to 1L each. Day 28- The Blue Dream is growing well, I like the way the LST is affecting #2 and how fast the other one took off after the topping. OG #1 is in the flowering tent until it shows me its genitalia lol if it’s a male then I’ll keep it flowering until I collect some pollen then spray everything down with some water to kill all the pollen that spreads around. I think that’ll work considering all the other plants are still in veg. If it’s a female I’ll have to put it back in veg and sex the other one.

Day 29- These plants are growing nicely. Blue Dream 1 & 2 are boomin but the topped on is growing way faster. I’m sexing one of the OG Kush plants right now, as soon as it shows me what’s under that skirt I’ll sex the other one. Fed em 1L of nutrient solution each with no cal/mag, which m only gonna use it when it needs to be used. I’ll update as soon as get a reading on the OG Kush. Day 30- I’m pickin up a patient to have in the tent with me so I’m not gonna fuck around with possibly contaminating my whole place with pollen. I don’t want to go through all the cleaning and stuff involved in making sure it doesn’t contaminate future grows. Day 33- Unexpectedly the big OG Kush has been confirmed female, now the smaller is under 12/12 until it shows me its genitalia. I chopped the bottom two branches off OG 1 and tied some support strings to the branches so they don’t split at the base. Did the same to the BD that started with topping. Also topped the other BD to boost the undergrowth, I think that’s gonna turn out to be the way to go but we’ll see. Did some LST to make all branches come out and get plenty of light and did some mainlining on lower branches to prevent unwanted undergrowth.

Day 36- Started off the day with a feeding of nutrient solution. 2L for the BD 1 & OG 1 about 1.5 for the BD 2 and 1L for the OG 2. Topped and defoliated the OG 1, I’m gonna take a few of the lower branches for clones after they grow out some. Defoliated the BD 2 along with some mainlining, I like how this girl has a bunch of branches already and has stayed pretty short. We’ll see how big a difference the training makes. Day 39- OG 1, BD 1 & BD2 drank up that 2L of nutrient solution like it wasn’t shit. OG 2 lifted her skirt and showed me some whiskers so we’ve got two females!!!!! I wouldn’t have been able to breed shit anyway lol I put her back in the tent with the rest of the girls and will continue to train them until it’s time to switch over to flower which shouldn’t be too far from now.

Day 43- Well this is the start of week 7 and I just started to feed these girls with nutrient solution more often and it doesn’t seem to be affecting them in n a negative way at all so I’m gonna continue this way and see how far I can take it. I’m gonna be feeding them at least 3-4L of nutrient solution each every week. They definitely seem thirsty enough so I think they can handle it. I topped OG 2 the other day but I think I made a mistake by not waiting long enough after revegging it to top it, we’ll see how it plays out. The topping of OG 1 right after switching it back didn’t bother it at all, maybe OG 2 is just a little slower. Took a cutting from OG 1 to see if I can get it to grow some roots, hopefully that works out. The BD is growing strong, BD 1 is a big beautiful girl with her branches spread out nice and wide. BD 2 is shorter because I started her off with lst instead, both plants are looking to be very promising but I prefer the way BD 1 is growing. Day 47- I switched the light to 12-12 because I can’t let the OG and BD 1 get much bigger before flowering. OG & BD 1 got 2L of nutrient solution bottom fed to them while the other 2 got 1.5L each. I think it took a minute for BD 1 to realize the water came from below this time because it looked pretty down for a while today even after watering it but it perked up after about 4 hours. I’m gonna have to use some lst on the bigger plants before they’re done stretching through the beginning of the flowering phase, these girls are gonna be big. Lst works really well for restricting height so that’s what I’ll do for plants that I plan on growing for more than 3-4 months.

Day 50- fed these girls with 1L of nutrient solution, top fed, did some defoliation and lst on OG 1 and just some defoliation on BD 1&2. I left OG 2 alone she didn’t need anything done to her. I turned the light up to about 70% power seeing as how they’re about to start flowering. They’re responding well to the current feeding schedule so I’m gonna keep it at 3L a week for now but I’m gonna be upping that to 4L after the 1st week of flowering. Almost forgot to add the cloning attempt has been successful so far, it sprouted roots now I’ve gotta keep it alive. Day 52- Flowering day 1- May 18th, 2021- THE BREEDING PROGRAM IS BACK ON!!!!!!!! I’ve never been so happy to have been lied to lol I was told these Blue Dream seeds were feminized but alas, they are not! BD 2 turned out to be a male so I separated it and I’m gonna collect some pollen before I rip it out of the dirt. Hopefully my containment measures work but if not I’ll just have an unlimited seed stock to work with lol Day 54- I’m glad that I decided to clone OG 1 because now I can use the clone to make the seeds and still get the best of the genetics out of the OG seeds that I had. As soon as it’s ready to be transplanted into a bigger pot I’ll move it and give it a week before I put it in the flower tent.

Day 57- We are halfway there folks! I started the day off with 2L of nutrient solution for OG & BD 1 and about 1.5L for OG 2. The OG solution was heavy in cal/mag because I’m seeing a slight deficiency and I’m not sure what it is but the literature says OG Kush needs lots of cal/mag so I’m guessing that’s the case. BD 1’s nutrient solution had normal amounts of nutrients. I think the BD male is gonna start popping open in the next week or so. I’m fairly impressed with how fast this BD actually went into flower, it only took about 4 days after the switch to 12-12 for it to show its sex. The OG clone is growing strong and will be ready for transplant soon, I need more soil though, I guess I could just wait until I rip up the BD male and reuse that soil. Day 60-Flowering day 8- I figured I’d add a few more photos of BD1. I can’t help but just be super impressed with this plant every time I look at it. I love the way it responds to training, how fast it grows, the ease of cultivation(it has not shown a single sign of stress), and the smell this girl is givin off is just stupor dank lol Fed all my girls this morning, the OG’s with 2L a piece of heavy cal/mag nutrient solution and BD 1 with 2L of normal nutrient solution.

Day 64- Flowering day 12-It’s the start of another week and today I kicked it off with a 2L feeding of nutrient solution for each plant but for some reason the BD is telling me I overwatered her. No worries though, she’ll recover in a day or so. The OG girls feed was heavy in cal/mag again. On another note, I harvested pollen from the BD male yesterday and today before I pulled it out of the dirt and trashed it. I stuck one container in the fridge to use on my current OG plants and put one in the freezer to use later on after I pheno-hunt the seeds I get from this first go around. We’ll see if I was able to keep the pollen from spreading into my grow room ruining all my plants. Almost forgot to add that I moved the OG clone into the flower tent and in a couple of weeks I’ll be knocking this girl up! Lol Day 68- Flowering day 16- These girls are growing strong. OG 2 surpassed OG 1 in height pretty quickly but I’m sure that’s because I did some lst on OG 1 because I was worried it would get too tall. Gave the girls about 1L of nutrient solution each. Did some defoliation the other day even though it doesn’t really look like it. BD recovered from being overwatered within a couple of hours and the leaves were standing straight up reaching for the light lol The seed plants are in the tent and one of them is almost ready to be pollinated, the clone still has another week or so to go before she’ll be ready.

Day 71- Flowering day 19- Started things off with about a 1.5L feeding for the OGs and about 2L for the BD. OG 2 is now the tallest plant in the tent coming in at about 33 inches tall. There was some nutrient deficiency showing on the lower leaves of the BD so I defoliated some more. I’m pretty sure I already corrected the deficiency by getting some more molasses and adding it back into the feeding regimen but we’ll see. I’m about to pollinate one of my other OG plants today, I’ll give it a week after pollination and put it back in the flower tent. Day 75- Flowering day 23- Well I do believe the deficiency my girls are showing is a potassium deficiency. OG 2 started showing signs also and after some more research I’ve concluded that I need to up the P&K in the nutrient solution. So that’s what I did today when I fed these girls, I doubled the amount of flower fuel I put in the solution. We’ll see if that does the trick. I put the pollinated plant back in the tent already, I’m not sure but since the colors of the hairs are changing already and the female sex organs are swollen and the hairs are also turning orange so I’m guessing that what happens when a plant gets pollinated. We’ll see how many seeds I get after I harvest and dry this stuff. OG 1 is developing some big bud clusters especially at the top of each branch, I think she’s gonna give me a bountiful harvest along with the BD. OG 2 seems to be doin better after I turned the light down by 20% but the leaves still haven’t really uncurled very much. If she doesn’t show any improvement soon I’m gonna see if I can figure out a way to raise the light up as high as possible.

Day 78- Flowering day 26- These OG girls are gettin thirstier by the day, I had to feed them yesterday because the soil is starting to dry out every 2-3 days now. I gave them what I've been giving them normally, about 1.5L for the big OG girls and about 1L for the small seed producer. I also put the clone in the back bathroom and tried my hand at pollinating it, we'll see how that turns out and I'll definitely wait to put this one back in the flowering tent because I'm not sure if the pollen was fully thawed but I got a lot of it on the pistils so I don't want to take any chances. I fed the BD about 2L of nutrient solution and she's only showing a very slight sign of overwatering but I'm sure she'll be recovered by the end of the day. All the plants in the tent have stopped stretching, I'm gonna have to remember how to train future plants like OG 1 because those buds are lookin absolutely fantastic. I made a mistake with OG 2 and didn't train it exactly the same so it stretched a bit too much and I doubt it's gonna yield as much as OG 1. Day 81- Flowering day 29- Well I think I’ve figured out what’s going on with OG 2 but we’ll see if I’m right. I think, aside from the heat stress it was under, there may be a slight nitrogen toxicity. OG 1 and BD have sucked up everything I’ve thrown at em without complaint but OG 2 still has some curled up leaves even though a lot of them have gotten better. I think it’s nitrogen toxicity because the leaf tips on my Green Crack just started curling downward and I know its not heat stress. The only thing that makes sense is too much nitrogen because I have been using more cal/mag than usual so today I just watered all the plants with molasses water and I’ll keep checking in on them. Also had to tie up some of the branches on OG 2, I’ve definitely gotta make sure to train plants in the future to not stretch so much cap that the branches will grow thicker and stronger.

Day 85- Flowering day 33- Idk if skipping a feeding of nutrient solution was a great idea but I did stop using cal/mag for this week so I don’t get any extra nitrogen buildup just to be on the safe side. The buds on both OG plants are getting big enough that I’m gonna have to tie most of the branches up in the near future. BD is still showing the same deficiency so I increased the amount of flower fuel by quite a bit to see if that helps. My last plants didn’t get this big so I’m still trying to figure what’s causing the discoloration on the lower leaves. I’ll just keep tryin things and see if anything works lol

Day 92-Flowering day 40- I had to feed the BD a day early and it’s still been getting worse. I doubled the amount of nitrogen in its nutrient solution and it seems to be responding well to that but idk if it’s enough. Gave the OG girls their nutrient solution heavy in cal/mag; they are going to turn out fantastic. I took an early cut from OG 2 and it wasn’t too bad; OG 1 is gettin pretty frosty and I can’t wait to try some of that one🤤

Day 99- Flowering day 47- Well the move went smoothly but it took a toll on the BD and OG 2. They’re droopin like crazy so I had to tie up most of the branches. OG 1 handled it well but it started to droop more from the stress as well. I doubt it’ll affect the end result too much. This will be the last week I give em nutrients; I’ll start the flush next week.

This strain had me a bit puzzled when it started showing deficiencies in flower. I did learn the importance of controlling that stretch during flower; not only does it strengthen the branches it makes the plant focus more on bud development. OG 1 doesn’t seem to have a single small larfy bud on her while OG 2 has more than her fair share of larfy buds. OG 2 also has about 1 seed per bud. I haven’t touched OG 1 yet but I’ll find out soon enough if she got prego as well. OG 2 has been dried and trimmed. She gave me 36.2g of some of the larfiest bud I’ve ever seen but it’s still pretty good. Would’ve had more but I’ve been smokin on this one too. I’ve left OG 1 alone and don’t plan to smoke any of it until it’s had a good cure; I’ll be trimming her up within the next few days. OG 1 gave me 52g of some fairly dense buds. Smells like straight up minty pine. My dumbass forgot to take pictures before putting it all in one of the big curing jars that I wrapped up in Gorilla Tape. I’ll update with some pics of this stuff later along with a smoke report after it cures. So my seed producer gave me 14g of bud after I broke it all up and de-seeded it. It also gave me over 470 good seeds! I’ve got plenty of seed stock to phenohunt with so I’m happy about that. The clone gave me 9.2g of some pretty frosty buds. It also has some seeds in it but idk if it was the result of me trying to pollinate it or if it was just contaminated from the pollen on the other plant. There’s no telling so I’m not gonna worry about it too much.

Day 106-Flowering day 54- I harvested the two OG plants that I grew for bud. The other two still have about 3 weeks to go before they’re ready. The BD has about 9 days before I give her the chop. I switched to giving her straight water today. We’ll see how this bud turns out in a few weeks.

Day 113- flowering day 61- I’m gonna give ol Blue Dream the chop first thing in the morning. The other two OG girls still have another couple of weeks to go. If I didn’t suck at taking pictures I’d have some pics of the seed producer. I don’t think the clone will have any seeds but I could be wrong. Day 116- I got some pics of the seed producer and the clone. The clone is lookin like it’s gonna be super fire. The seed producer is pretty bushy but I think I’m gonna get a good amount of seeds to work with and I’m sure the hash I make from it will be dope. I’m gonna let these girls go as long as I can before I chop em down.

Day 120- Well this is the final week for these girls or at least for the seed producer. We’ll see how it goes with the clone; I might decide to let it go a little longer. Switched to plain ol water today so’s they can suck up the rest of the nutrients in the soil. I don’t really see the point in flushing at the end; there really isn’t much of a difference in the end result so I just like to water them with plain ass water for the last week or so. Day 127- Chopped the last 2 OG Kush down today after a 36 hour dark period. The clone is extra frosty and will probably be some top shelf bud. The seed producer looks like it’s gonna give me a bunch of seeds and make some good hash and/or cannabis oil.

This girl produced over 44g of some pretty good bud. As a bonus I also get a bunch of free seeds! I’ll update with a smoke report after this stuff has cured. Honestly this girl didn’t have anywhere near as many seeds as I thought she would. The smell is kind of like a skunk muffin until you grind a bud up and it smells like straight skunk ass lol the flavor is really smooth, kinda sweet and herbal. The high is fantastic although it wears off a little faster than I’d like before leaving you nice and relaxed. I think that’s because of the cbd though but I’m not sure. I’ll make sure to compare plants when my next one is ready. Thanks for checking out my diary!
