Hello and welcome to my third grow! For this one I chose Northern Light (photoperiod, not autoflowering version). The seed and the organic boost was kindly gifted by RQS so thanks very much for that! I only planted 1 seed and had no trouble at all, so genetics and seed quality is very much confirmed. Germination was stimulated using a glass of water. Seed was soaked 2 days and tansferred to soil! Excited for this new experience!

Going strong 💪 New tops are growing nicely and the soil seems to be just perfect. RQS organic boost is really a great way to make sure your plants are fed without stressing to much to find a balance with different nutrients, also I used just 7 grams of pellet for 7L pot. Definitely a good product.

Second topping was done, now I have 3 new tops grpwing and the 2 below that have developed to the same height. the initial LST was removed (I was unsure whether to top or not at the beginning) and although the plant is not superstraight it looks like it has a good structure. I'm still unsure whether to top again or not. We will see 😜

Last week of vegetation for this beauty! My new lamp has arrived and she seems to love it. I went for spider farmer sf1000 and right now it's at 35cm distance and dimmed so that only 60% of power is on. I had it higher at 100% power but considering that I only have 1 plant it seemed unnecessary, plus it got warmer, from 24 to 29°C in 30 min. I still need to find the right balance but that's the beauty of cultivating I guess. I could go on with vegetation and do one more topping but I don't want to go too deep into warmer temperatures during flowering so I will switch to a 12/12 schedule within a couple days. Stay tuned for more updates 💚

FLOWERING WEEK 1 Did some heavy defoliation just after switching to the 12/12 light schedule. I might have done too much but I'm still experimenting so I guess it's ok.. I'm still searching for the sweet spot with my new lamp, right now it's dimmed at 70%, raised 35cm far from canopy. Raised the light (now in full power at 40cm distance from the canopy), gave her 1L water. She looks stunted but I guess it's normal considering recent changes (new light and heavy defoliation). I can't wait to see it respond with new leaves filling the empty space. We are still in early flowering indeed 😎💚

FLOWERING WEEK 2 A new exciting week has begun... this is just my third grow and I wonder what you think about the plant's phenotype. Does it look like an indica? I've grown two sativa-dominant plants in the past and to my novice eye this one looks similar. What are your thoughts? Thanks for your feedback!👋

Hello Growers, first of all thanks for visiting my diary! Here we are three weeks into flowering and everything seems to be going well. I saw very tiny orange spots on the older fan leaves and I guess some sort of deficiency is starting to show, since I just used water during my entre grow. The soil was Atami Kilomix, which is very rich, but this is my third grow in this soil (and in general as well). The soil was enriched with RQS Boost Organic Nutrition (2g/Liter), which is reallly great, but I decided to start supplementing with bloom nutrients too (0.7g/Liter) just to see if my girl likes it. SInce 1 RQS Easy Bloom Booster Tablet weights 5 grams, should be dissolved in 5-8L water and consumed within 10 days, and I only have one plant that drinks approximately 1.5L per week, I just mashed the tablet to obtain a powder and dissolved 0.6g of this powder in 1L water. This allows me to have fresh nutrients and not waste anything. You can see a photo of my new lamp (spider farmer SF1000), I can definitely see the difference with my previous lamp. I just feel like my pot could have been bigger, I don't really know if it's bad to transplant during flowering, plus I fear I could make a mess and damage the plant. Any advice is always more than welcome! Happy grow to everyone out there, stay safe and avoid inflammatory side effects of the vaccine with a good old joint 😜💚

I just inspected my plant and noticed some grey/darker areas in my buds, I cannot understand if it's due to the purple stem or it's just pure mold. What do you guys think? Is this Botrytis?

Hi mate, to be honest I can't really see any bud rot but it may be a good idea to defoliate a little or turn up your circulating fan speed to keep air moving. Bring your RH down to about 45%. I've lost two grow through bud rot and its heart wrenching. If you see any Botrytis, i think milky water wash works on affected areas. I hope this helps, good luck

Hello my fellow growers! Thanks for stopping by. So first of all, I have been wondering about the volume of my pot and found this online calculator: https://www.orangepippintrees.co.uk/plant-pot-calculator.aspx I found out that my pot is smaller than I thought so I updated the pot volume in the diary here. I will definitely use a bigger one in the future, considering I always only grow one plant per time. That being said, I was fearing mold last week but I found out that it was just some "early purpeling" as someone in the grow answers told me. In any case that encouraged me to increase air circulation so I'm thankful for the scare. Last week I started supplementing with RQS easy bloom booster tablets (kind gift from RQS) and I'm continuing with that. My lower fan leaves are yellowing and started to show rust spots (probably signs of Ca/Mg deficiency) so I think this will help, I'm still unexperienced so hopefully my diagnosis correct. In general I try to keep some lower fan leaves since they can be early indicators of toxicity/deficency issues that need to be fixed. Overall I'm satisfied with how things are progressing! I don't think my girl will grow in height much more, she's 40cm tall and though I would have loved a bigger plant but I guess the pot is too small. Thanks for reading and come back soon for more updates 😎👋

Hello Growers! Thanks for checking my diary! Flowering week 4 has just started, it's the 1st of May and I wish happy workers day to all of you! I started this week with some defoliation for my girl. I was sad to remove perfecctly healthy leaves but they were really covering the smaller bud sites that I guess have still some potential. I hope I did not mess it up! She's more thirsty nowadays and I water her every 3 days with 1L, alternating water to water containing RQS easy bloom booster tablets. It's getting warmer too and my thermohygrometer recorded a peek of 33°C once. I have been carefull to avid those temperatures again though. So far I'm satisfied with this grow although I would really like to hear from more experienced growers out here if there's something I could do to improve. More updates soon!

Hello growers! Thanks for visiting my diary. I'm happy to say that I think everything is going smoothly... So far I'm satisfied! Buds are growing nicely and I'm very glad that I upgraded the lighting system 🙏 that definitely is making a difference! Today I was up for some testing and cut a small lower branch to let it dry. I inspected trichomes with the microscope and I must say that many were cloudy and some transparent, with spare amber. I still need to become more experienced because I guess that trichomes on the leaves mature faster and I still cannot be sure all the time if I'm looking at the leave or the flower. By looking at the plant in general I would say that she still has 3 weeks to go, still I want to experiment first hand the diference between very early harvest, just about right and almost too late. She's drinking like crazy and you can tell she gets hungry. So far I'm using RQS easy bloom booster tablets and bud candy.

Flowering week 7 guys! I'm getting there. The only thing I need now is patience 🙄 a lot of patience. The sample bud dried too fast, it smelled like freshly cut grass and the effect was too heady, I got a bit of headache. I took another small sample 3 days ago and let it dry with its fan leaves on to preserve it better. Also no problem with the fresh grass smell like this. I will definitely avoid wet trimming from now on. Thanks for checking in and happy growing out there!

Beautiful and strong. The yellowing leaves are perfect. I will give her just water over the next 10 days. Trichomes are milky so I feel quite confident that she will be ready for harvest by then. Thanks for stopping by 💚

Hello growers, thanks in advance for your support. So temperatures have risen very much in my location. Yesterday I had 34 °C (93°F) in my tent. I will avoid this spike in temperature from now on and I have around 10days left before harvest. Will this damage my plant? If so, how?

Should be ok just higher temp can cause stress related issues. If your harvesting in 10 days keep temp down and enjoy

FLOWERING WEEK 9 Last week of flowering for this beauty. Fan leaves are yellowing nicely and many fell off with a slight pull. She's only getting water now. I checked the trichomes and I can see mostly milky and some clear ones. it's hard to find amber trichomes yet, I guess I need to wait til the end of next week. It's really hard to wait and be patient when she looks so ripe. I tryed different mini sample buds and I must say that it's useful to uderstand the different degrees of maturity and the different effects that you get. The earliest I picked gave me a headache, the last one made me want to sleep 4h earlier than when I usually do. This sample bud test also gave me the opportunity to compare dry vs wet trimming and my impression is that wet trimming releases too much clorophyl and the terpenes smell is at least temparary covered by that. Of course it takes longer to dry when fan leaves are on so it's all about compromise, and patience again. I also noticed that if I smoke CBD weed afterwards, the THC effects are heightened, it might just be my immagination but I don't think so. I have to say that this grow is my most succesfull so far, and yield will be probably doubled compared to my previous grow. Of course the new lamp played a major part in that, but I also feel more experienced in terms of training and feeding skills. I can't wait to review this strain properly so stay tuned for harvest!!!😎

Hello growers! Thanks for your help. So I'm approaching harvest (yellowing leaves, mostly milky trichomes, fat buds) but many pistils are still white. Flowering is supposedly 7-9weeks, I just entered week 9. Waiting for more amber trichomes, should I wait to have orange pistils?

When the triclomes become mostly cloundy/white is when plants reach their peak thc. As they amber it is the effect on you the smoker that changes. Cloudy/active high, 20 to 30% amber changes to a more sedated couch lock feeling. I go for cloudy and maybe 5% amber. That is my preference. Cheers

Flowering Day 66 and most of my girl is getting cut. I left the older two branches on. I tried a little sample that I dried definitely too fast and I find it hard to review this. Will be back soon for more details... I'm liking the effect so far though, I guess it can only grow on me. Flowering day 67 and all plant was harvested. I need the grow room for drying and since this is a heavy indica from what I read, I don't mind if there's only 5% amber trichomes. I'll update once drying is done. I trimmed only one out of 6 colas. In curious to check for any difference with dry trimmed ones! June 14 - Curing begins! I have been trying some trim and the effect is strong. No more trouble sleeping with this strain, the effect doesn't arrive immediately but when it does forget about being any active because it kicks in hard. I'm curious to test it after proper cure too. Stay tuned for more updates 😎💚
