3 seeds pf Black Lemon Auto of Z&Z were planted on 11L and 18L pots, a few days of distance between each other.
Soil was used as a medium. The one in the 11L will also benefit a 12 more hours of light in a box.
These weeks were good days with hot sun with and only few cloudy days. Plants are in good condition, I will start the fertilization program for the older one this week.
Plant 1# is very elongated, almost 40cm already.
Plant #2 not so good, this one entered flowering stage too early, this could due for the different soil I used for it, unbalanced in nutrients I guess. She is clearly showing the black phenotype I wished to see.
Plant #3 continues to grow normally, after the first stage of life slow due to the adverse clima at the beginning (Cold stress)
This week I harvested the little one, it’s now drying, nice citrus smell but weak .All the plants got a smell that it’s not so strong, this could be an advantage but this could mean terpenes productions not so high.
Today (18/05) after approx 9-10 weeks from seedling I harvested plant 1.
I wish I could have wait 3 days more but I founded some trace of mold, probably due to it’s dense flowers and maybe a pest attack. I am paranoid so I harvested it. However the plant was mature judging by her trichomes, mostly cloudy.
Last days the smell started being more pronounced, but nothing to alert your neighbors.
Plant 2 probably needs two more weeks.
I enjoyed this genetic, really fascinating. A pleasure for the eyes with its almost black shaded and for the mouth giving a pleasant citrus taste.
Exotic seeds did a great job in terms of stabilizing the phenotype, 3/3 seeds showed the same anthocyanins richness giving 100% black pheno, which is quite rare when dealing with such a particular trait.
Overall I did not have any difficult in the growing, soil was not the best and poor oxygenated, giving them small space in terms of expanding roots. A proper soil would have raised the yields, however I don’t think this is the best genetic in terms of productivity. In fact it grow like a pure ruderalis genetic, short with only a main cola and very few ramifications, not the best in terms of yields.
Anyway I think every grower should give this plant a try, the satisfaction given when you try a really black bud it’s priceless.
I was really pleased that all the 3 plants respected the timing given in the schedule, be ready in effectively only 8 weeks from germination, which is really good if you are a little inpatient.
In terms of effects, high is powerful, however not my favorite thus I like a more indica like effect. Suitable for social activities, though I experienced some sort of anxiety sometimes during my smoke time, but nothing uncontrollable.
Overall my judgment is positive, for the fact that this is a really exotic plant. My next grow of this will be a bonsai like plant, just for fun.
