Germination went well, I originally had another strain together with the Big Kush but that seed didn't make it so I germinated another Big Kush so she's a week younger. The seeds were left in water overnight and then straight into a rockwool starter cube.
Had some challenges with heat this week, the tent was relying on passive intake to get fresh air and I had to upgrade that to use a 100mm inline fan to get more outside air in along with the 150mm exhaust fan pulling air out. The little girl took some strain and fell over but after propping it up she has recovered nicely. Should go smoother going forward, weather is turning cooler and I have better equipment 👊
This week the bigger girl got topped and recovered quite nicely, the smaller girl probably has another week before I'll top. They're both showing me they want a lot more nutrients, I've only been giving them light feeding up to now, I'll definitely up that in the next res change. In future I'll give them decent food BEFORE topping 😬
Another week and another rookie mistake, swopped the dosages for Micro and Bloom around and as a result got some nutrient burn on the tips of my leaves 😣
Carried on with the lst but it could've been a better week, probably end up adding a week to my veg
Had an explosion of growth this week after rectifying my nutrients and both plants are looking super healthy. I topped plant #2 this and will do some lst on her before heading into flower. In the meantime I've continued training and defoliating #1.
Mostly left the ladies to their own devices this week, just a minor tuck and lst adjustment here and there. I'm waiting for a little vertical growth now and then I think it's time to flip to flower. Big Kush #1 was 1-2 weeks behind after germinating the seed later than #2 but I think she is good to flower as well
Had some clawing appear on the big fan leaves this week and it looked like nitrogen toxicity. Did a flush with FlashKleen for 24 hours and changed the res to +/-50% solution. The new growth looks much better now. Got to get them tip-top, next week is start of flower. It looks like the Big Kush is happier with less feed.
Week 1 of flower 🙌
Switched them over at the beginning of the week and things have gone smoothly. These girls are super thirsty and I top up almost everyday with quite a bit. I'll wait until end of wk2 to give them a good haircut and a res change
I had to defoliate these girls early on in the week, it was getting messy in there and light penetration was becoming a problem. Other than that I've been keeping her tucked and fed and just enjoying the stretch
Lots of work this week in preparing for the final leg of the race. They were VERY bushy and I did an extensive defoliation as well as supercrop a few branches to get the canopy more or less even for the final flowering. They have responded very well to both, within 24 hours they were right as rain
Buds have been developing nicely and the trichomes have started developing nicely as well. Had a few electricity issues causing a few hiccups but we're rolling with the punches. They're both still looking nice and healthy.
They have been blooming beautifully this week, I've just been maintaining their insatiable lust for water and sustenance. I think because they are closer to the light they are taking up more water and with it the nutrients in the solution so I've noticed small amount of leaf curling showing they're taking in a little too much N. I'll be backing off for a bit and play it by ear
Just chugging along this week, slowly approaching the late flower stage. I've just been keeping the water level and adding the proportionate amounts of nutrients keeping an EC of around 1.4, I've noticed throughout the grow that they don't like too much feed. Also just been keeping the microbial inoculation going once a week. She seems happy and I'm just patiently letting her be
Quite a productive week, looks like the vertical growth has (almost) stopped and they are fattening up. I had to remove some fan leaves, they were getting bushy and blocking the lower growth from light. I think another 2-3 weeks here...
Theses girls are pushing out, I'm really enjoying growing this strain. No pest or mould issues up until now and I'd like to have another go at this plant. I'm thinking I could get a lot more out of this strain.
These girls are still bulking up but the trichs are still not fully cloudy, I'll give them another week or so. They are becoming heavy now and the branches are starting to lean so I might have to add some support soon
I think it's just about time, the next update would be the harvest. This has been a fun strain to watch. Very resilient and grows vigorously. The smoke would tell if it's a keeper
This strain is a vigorous grower and is very forgiving. She grows big bountiful buds that are dripping with resin. She doesn't like her nutrients to be too much and doesn't do too well in heat.
