I want to show how grow seedlings for the first two weeks with my diy light, feel free to copy the idea as long as it's not for commercial purposes! You need: - a tube of the same size (or less) than the pot - a dimmerable led light (i use a cheap cob light that i get from aliexpress with bridgelux leds) - a cpu cooler and a phone power charger (usb 5v is ok) - a 220v dimmer and a Digital panel multimeter/amperometer (optional). You can get the same of my prototype from ebay, aliexpress, amazon etc) - Aluminium foil, wires etc I think it's easy to rebuild by your own but if anyone needs some help I'll show how to build it and connect the wires. The advantage of growing the seedling in this way is the perfect illumination on all sides that increases the growing speed of the side branches and the few watts are consumed (2-3w the first few days up to a maximum of 10w). In addition, a warm and humid micro-climate is created which is ideal for the seedlings. With the amperometer you will know how many watts are being used and this is something I consider crucial because you can decide exactly the amount of light given to the plant. ### The seed was osmoprimed for 12 hours into 0.5% kno3 (water glass) then transferred directly into coco coir.

Since I use the atami pre-buffered coco, this week i need only to water with RO water, no other nutrients needed. 2d - With only 1 watt of light I felt it was getting a bit leggy, so I raised the power to 2w. 3d - 2nd set of leaves 5d - started to with 0.5 ec of nutrients (megacrop+SiO2) because I noticed she was starting to turn light green, and in addition, I raised the power of the light to 4w. Apart this all is going very smoothly, actually we are on the usual grow timings

d8 - the second internode leaves are entirely visible d9 - third level leaf is visible but worried 'cos usually @ d12 i have 5 sets of leaves and I don't know if I can achieve this result at this grow. Anyway can be the plant looks healthy, I've changed the setup and it could be that I gave them too little light in the first few days (I didn't want to exaggerate) but it could also be the variety, the cold weather etc... d11 - showing first koalas - 0.8ec ph 5.9 -> sio2 0.05 / megacrop B 0.1 / megacrop A 0.05 / Ascophyllum Nodosum seaweed 0.05 mixed to calmag water 0.4 ec d12 - out from the seedling phase but slightly behind the usual... Anyhow the fourth set of leaves has sprouted and 4 koalas are already visible from the internodes. I've probably been a bit conservative with fertilisation, but in order not to overfertilize (prebuffered coco + nutes = burn), it's probably better to stay light. d13 - I have to revise the seedling feeding schedule because I was a bit light... for next time: 0.3ec at the third leaf d14 - I'll wait a few more leaves and then make the topping for the mainlining... let's say until the first koalas at the bottom are big enough to take cuttings from.

d15 - the baby is now much bigger than the cylinder used to grow in, but it is still very well lit and the koalas are growing very fast, I just have to wait a little bit for topping it, because based on my personal experience, the plant recovers faster when she has 5-6 internodes. d16 - Maybe I was wrong and it's not as backward as I thought... it just grew differently, with very large leaves and developing side shoots very fast, the first 2 levels are already quite formed with one internode. I think I will change the trimming schedule and use these two for the main lining. d17 - Since with the autos you have about a month to train (in total) I want to try to do the mainlining starting from 4 branches instead of 2, in this way I save 1 topping to have 8 buds. yesterday I removed two leaves on the top to promote the illumination of lateral shoots. d18 - topped to the 3rd node leaving 4 branches, so i need only 1 more topping to get 8 buds. Not 100% sure it was a good idea, but with the uniform lighting she has while growing inside a tube hope she can grow 4 branches at once. The only thing I regret is I would have preferred to use one nodes above if she had grown faster, but at this time she already had the first 2 nodes well formed I preferred to do so! Is already a some days that I feed with 0.5EC / 5.8ph - megacrop + kemp + sio2 seems fine! d20 - Today I'm going to move the seedling inside my small tent and under another DIY light built with cheap led taken from china, it's fine except that it is energy inefficient. The only advantage is that mounting 14x cob bridgelux of 3 different type (5x3500k,2x6000k,7xblurple) so can change the spectrum by changing leds. d21 - today it's the first day under a 40w of light and the leaves were a bit weak after 18 hours, better to move the light away a little...

d22 - today is the day of the last topping! d27 - This week the StrawberryPie has grown very fast and I absolutely have to transfer it into the final pot. The good news is that she reacted well to the second topping and now I just have to let she grow as it is to get 8 nice buds. But in this way isn't perfect because the buds should all be "equidistant" from the roots and now the ones below seem to be more lame than the ones above. Of course I didn't want to reinvent the wheel, it was just an experiment!

I finally defeat the procrastination and re-potted it. I'm an asshole! Anyway the StrawberryPie really looks like a tank girl it has continued to grow as if nothing had happened, the 8 buds that I should have are already forming, well they are already at the second node. Luckily the nature compensates for my mistakes!

OK. my bad! ok i overdosed nitrogen when she was starting to bloom and the cat brought red spider mites from the garden. i'll tell more about the sad story of this strawberry pie that, after all, is holding up great to our torture.

@ihatemycat, nice one! I grew Orange Bud my last grow. Absolutely, spectacular! My favorite citrus, so far. Good medicine for ADHD, too. Dense nugs and a decent harvest. Pineapple Express next, I think. Currently, growing Black Cream and CBD.

@Growin_it, I thought it was an interesting strain too... in addition I was looking for something fresh but different from the usual citrous taste for this summer, and this variety is really promising! yay! stay tuned!

@ihatemycat, With a little effort (and a lot of weed) we could create the first hemp defoliator cat in history .................... How nice to smoke weed 😂😂🤘🦄

@DreamIT, you have lifted my mood, i was getting worried that my cat was an addict! Any other kind of weed he doesn't like, even the one specifically for cats! ❤️ my little gourmet yummy cat 😹 Anyway i can also say that I have a cat gardener, he definitely takes care of the defoliation technique (but i'm lazy and I don't write it in my diary), anyway it is better to let it work from mid-vegetation onwards 'cos usually goes a bit heavy! 😜

@ihatemycat, Cursed! I know what it means! mine does too .. if I'm not careful I risk eating an entire plantation 🤣

@TerpyOG, bha unfortunately not... it was a mix of events, I changed the nutrients and had to leave the plants a couple of weeks and this mess happened. Mainly the plant has suffered during preflowering, the leaves are clawed because the nitrogen excess, i was get sizes with the nutes that are very concentrated. Now, because of the summer heat, I have to wait for September and I'm sorry because I really like the fastbuds "fruity" strains (my favorite is blackberry).... I think this summer the strawberry pie will be over soon.... 😭
