Startet my little Formula One seed today. Used varm to the touch water in my favorite teacup and covered it with the undercup. I put it on my south facing window sill, as it was promised sun for allmost a week. Was a long time to sink, but sprouted, quickly when transfered to papertowel. Left there for a couple of days until the root was 2cm long. Planted two days ago and today after a six days journey it is looking up. It seems like a little of the seed inside cover is still stuck to the leaves, stopping it from opening up. Leave it until tomorrow to see if it can manage this on its own. If not, I have to remove the constrain, something I am not to happy to do, as it is difficult not hurting the tender little leaves. Both this and the slow uptake of water suggest an old seed. Succes - I managed to unlock it with a few drops of water. Realy glad that this little trick worked. So I'm good to go 😎
Day one: Added 2 ml. potatoe + fishtankwatermix. The soil is rather moist so I have to be carefull. Put it outside today to get som nice direct sunlight, but the temperature is only 10C and it is quite windy. The temperature will fall to about 3C when the sun goes down, so it's window sill for the night.
Day five: Grows slowly I think . Difficult to leave it outside as the next couple of nigths will be freezing. Roots ok. Soon filling the smal pot. Will re-plant to 8l permanent pot in a couple of days.
Day 7 Transplanted to the permanent pot. The plant is 1 - may be 1,2 cm tall. Still some cold nigths, but the frost should be over. Still takeing the plant in at nigth.
The day is now about 15 hours long and will gradualy increase to 18 hours at the end of June.
Lets see what this week has in store for us. Growing slowly but looking healthy. The slow growth is probably due to the low temperature, The plant is made in Spain where grow-conditions are much more friendly. The temperature the coming week is about 12 C at day and 4 C at nigth. After that it should be fine. Just mentions it here as the growdiary will not accept a night temperature less the 10, currious!? The plant looks a little cold in the morning,, but is doing fine. Its 3 cm tall at the end of this week. Temeratures should be better around the 10th. of May.
The plant is growing fine, but I have some leaf problem - tvisted and bumpy leaves. Can not be Fungus - no dull spots. Could be Mites, but no trase of this either. Probably in the ground - so I gave 3 gallons of clean water. Seems to work, - it's getting better.
She is growing very well. The branches are getting long. I have removed 4 large leves to secure ligth all the way down. Still no flowering, but it must be due soon.
After your question I checked your grow again in the weeks before. he leaves are drooping dw, soil wet and black. I think its prolems cause of overwatering. Let the soil dry between feeds. I dont see the darker leaves of overfeeding or burnt tips or anything.
@BioBuds, It helped when I flushed it through with 3 gallons of water, but you are right that it needs to dry for a periode. I put my fertilizer in the top soil. The 3 gallons of water can have removed nutritients in the soil or added some. I am still confused. The plant does not look like its about to die or anything, but..
I also protect it against the rain most of the time, but a couple of weeks of sunshine would be welcome ...
Nice one mate, the first 2 weeks are always too slow but not slow down under in the soil. The roots were preparing for the visible boost we see now. Everything is in order to bring you high in a few months time.
All the best
