ok so i started one of the girls a week earlier than the other 3. i have 4 total gorilla girl XL autos. one is in a 4gal fabric pot and the other 3 are in 2gal fabric pots. its my 1st time using 2gal pots. i usually run my autos in 4gal pots but most of the time the root mass doesnt reach the bottom unless it was a big plant. i guess these are XL so maybe i should of stuck with 4gal, but heck, if yall can grow them in a solo cup then 2gal should be good enough. im excited to see these. they will be my 1st time using sweet seeds. i also have a few more of theirs like, red hot cookies, red mandarin fast, and sweet zkittlez or sweet zenzation. im excited for all of them but am only making a diary of these for now. the others are still in their packs anyway. along with these autos are gorilla zkittles auto by barneys farm and sour diesel auto by seedsman. only one of each of those. they are same age as the first plant.
i have them in my 4x4 veg tent under the hlg 550 and will add uv later on.
i use earth dust base by the green sunshine company for an organic base nutrient. i only really need to add earth dust boost later, but i add in extra amendments during my grow. earth dust can be used by itself and produce great results but i like experimenting. almost everything i use is organic.
so fox farms ocean forest soil, with added earth dust. 4tbsp per gal of soil. i also add in my used mushroom substrates. they mainly consist of coco coir and vermiculite. i add calcium sulfate and calcium carbonate to the mushroom substrate before the mushrooms grow on it. after the mushrooms are harvested i add it to my soil tote. i also add extra perlite to my soil tote. then i use great white and add it to the soil. then i start my fabric pots. the earth dust base needs to cook for 2-4 weeks, but since the ocean forest soil is heavily amended so i can start them right away and by the time they are done with that the soil has cooked.
im just letting them grow now. they are doing great.
to be continued......
ok so i added a little bit of nutrients to the little ones. some house worm castings from my favorite garden store and terp tea grow with some humix. thats it with the little 3. i think i have been overwatering them causing slow growth. the older one is doing well. thinking of mainlining her. not sure if i want to do her or one of the smaller 3 when they get a little older. i did top my sour diesel auto. im mainlining that one. i think im going to start its own diary.
so far these plants are doing great. i have added earth dust base to the soil before they were potted. so honestly i dont need to add any more than that until a week before flower. i just like to try and push the limits. not much to say about these girls yet. might be topping soon in next week or 2. at least one of them anyway.
turn on , tune in, drop out
these 4 girls are doing great. i topped one and then noticed it topped itself on one of the nodes. i was going to mainline/manifold her nebula style, but after seeing the natural topping of the one node it screwed my idea up so i left her at that.
the other 3 that's a week behind are just growing so fast. they was stunted at first. i have a overwatering issue. i need to water less. i got that into check and they started to pick up speed. i would say that they are caught up to the first one , due to it being topped and trained.
the bigger of the last 3, i was tucking some leaves and ended up taking only 2 fan leaves off to let the other nodes get some light too.
the nutrient schedule is slowly switching to flower nutes.
i don't know if ill do much training to these plants. i was going to at first. mainline them but i think i might just do it on one only. i have never grown a plant out naturally . like no training. couple of these will be my 1st if i can follow thru. i just get anxious and train them thinking i will improve my yields and in most cases i probably mess the yield up and keeping the plant small and bushy. (I'm trying to get away from that )
this week i chose to do a tea. i added most of the week 5 & 8 of flower into this tea. i used it on everything from the flower tent to the veg and autos. they are all to the point of flower and its all kind of the same stuff on the schedule for most of them. It was easier on me to do it this way.
im impressed with these autos. they are growing so fast. i haven't done really any training on the 3 younger ones. they are bigger than the older one, but that one has had some training. i topped and tied her down. she topped herself on one node and later on topped herself again on another node. i guess its not so bad if it does it naturally because that's not going to slow her down any.
i tried to get the pictures in some what of an order. plant by plant . might be off a little.
the 3 younger ones, i was just tucking leaves and then i decided to remove a few to help with the light hitting all nodes. i usually defoliate to often or to much. im cutting that crap out. letting them grow as much as i can before i decide to remove a leaf.
trying to get bigger taller plants instead of little bushy ones.
they have been doing some stretching. the center main node hasn't been growing as fast as the side branches. they are all reaching to the top to be dominate it seems. I like that. stretch baby.
when i made the tea i made a 5 gallon bucket and let it soak and aerate for a day. I added 2 cups of worm castings, shot of molasses , 3 table spoons of terp tea bloom, one table spoon of oregonism XL and Microbe charge, one teaspoon of great white and elemental.
Before i used it i diluted the 5 gallons of tea with 5 gallons of water. so i don't know how potent it was. i forgot to do a PPM check. so im glad i diluted it by half.
it is mainly a boost for the flowering thats going on and about to be going on.
none of the plants look like they need anything. they all seem very happy and pretty.
ok so all I've been doing is manually with my hand pushing the branches down and clipping a leaf here or there. they have all started to flower. I'm excited and can't wait. i hope they have some stretching to do, maybe they wont stretch so much because of cola dominance switching up. IDK.
i used a tea again to feed these girls. just following the aurora schedule. i let it brew for 24hrs. it ended up at 700ppm. i read its supposed to be more at this point. i might top feed next time.
im very pleased with all 4 plants so far. i was surprised how much the 1st plant started stretching. i hope its not over. i want tall plants. at least 2-3ft. STRETCH BABIES.
i need to add Earth Dust Boost to the schedule. just top dress them a little. thats the plan.
well stay tuned to see if the stretch more .....next week.
they are all growing so good. 2 are showing a certain pheno and the other 2 are showing a different pheno.
the buds are tight and stacked on the 2 and the other 2 the nodes are spaced a little more apart.
both phenos are awesome. i guess they are about done stretching? id say so. just bud growth now i think.
ive been defoliating as i seen necessary.
gave them a top dressing this week.
im pretty sure i gave them a dose of earth dust boost during this past week or two also.
OMG what easy autos to grow. 2 different main phenos with 4 plants. one topped, 3 LST to a minimum. just pushing the branches down, never restrained them.
one of the phenos is a thick main cola and all the other branches form fat golf ball sized nugs thats so heavy its starting to weigh them down.
the 2nd pheno is longer nodes and thinner nugs. just as frosty. they all 4 look so amazing. i am in love. the smell of the terps are strong with this one.
fast flowering too i hope. shoot at this pace only be few more weeks. stay tuned to see if the nugs need extra support to stand......
im in love with the short fat phenotype. the bud are just so chunky and ripening so fast. the fastest one is a fat chunky pheno. she almost looks like she will have a week left. trichomes are all cloudy with few clear and even fewer amber. they other 3 are not far behind. seems like the one i topped and has like 6 or 8 skinny main colas will be done around the same time as the 1st one. the buds one her are skinnier and longer instead of fatter and shorter. its neat seeing the different phenos come out.
i love how they grow and how fast they ripen. nice strain. today is exactly day 60 i think. the breeders info says 63-70 days. ya know, that's optimal conditions.
but to be honest, these plants havent really suffered any issues at all. ive been pretty on top of these girls, and aurora nutrients are rocking every plant i have.
harvest shouldnt be to much longer. a week to few weeks most.
stay tuned to find out how much longer......
