Let the seed soak in a glass of water for about 24 hours. Then I transferred to a moist paper towel for about 2 days. She sprouted right up! (Sprouted 4/17)
Poor girl had a rough week. I was gone for 2 days and she got completely dried out. She was bent over, but with a little water, she sprung right back up! It definitely stunted growth though! She's on a comeback, and I think she'll be just fine.
This is really more like 2.5 weeks instead of 2. I'm pretty late on this diary. Unfortunately, this poor plant took quite a hit after it almost died last week due to dehydration. She was pretty stunted for awhile, but honestly is making a great recovery (regardless of size). I plan to move to a 3 gallon pot tonight, but I just have to pick up more soil first!
Went ahead and transplanted her to a 3 gallon this week. She's very tiny compared to my other plants that came out of the gate at full speed. However, I'm definitely not giving up on her! That's the beauty of photoperiod plants... time. She seems to be doing really well and fully recovered from the mishap in week 1, just quite a bit stunted!
She's coming along well! Although she's not large by any means, she's definitely starting to grow and seems to be accepting the nutrients pretty nicely!
This plant is super squatty and compact so far! Which is honestly a trait that I'm looking for! Definitely planning to top this week.
She's still by far the smallest of the bunch. But size aside, she's looking great and loving life. I went ahead and topped this week and she had no issues with it and just kept growing. I defoliated some of the larger leaves just to try and help some light get to the lower growth. I also cut off the lowest growth that was getting no light.
She really took off this week! The plant is structured pretty oddly. Especially after topping. The side branches have just naturally gotten taller than the main colas. I removed a bunch of sucker branches cleaned up the plant before i put her into flower this week! I'm excited to see what happens!
She really took off this week! This plant is structured pretty oddly and is super wide. I don't love the look, but I'm excited to see what happens when I send her into flower this week!
I also tried my hand at twisting and popping a couple of the taller side shoots.
Did some light defoliation this week. I switched over to flower and she's showing the most signs of flower by far (in comparison to my other plants). This plant is definitely doing the best in my setup and seems to be absolutely loving life!
Defoliated some leaves in the middle of the plant, but that was about it. This thing is really taking off and I'm impressed. From nearly dying to the rapid flowering, I'm hoping for an awesome end product!
Did a heavy defoliation this week. Got most of the fan leaves and made a lot more room for airflow. These buds are developing a lot faster than expected! I'm super impressed with how this plant is turning out. She's loving life and seems like a really nice producer!
She's continues to just keep fattening up! It looks like the PH statement on the GHE instructions were true for soil! Even at a drastic PH difference from last week, she was loving it.
I'm starting to get a small aroma if i take a nice whiff. If I rub the leaves where some trichomes are, it definitely smells a bit peppery. Maybe a hint of lemon.
Also, a few orange pistils showed up this week! I remember time start to fly at this point, so I'm getting excited to see what happens in the next week or 2.
These flowers seem to keep getting larger every day. There is definitely a citrusy smell. Kind of like spicy lemons. No real signs of fading in the leaves, but there are definitely quite a few orange pistils showing up now. I defoliated a bit throughout the week just to get more light down to the lower branches.
Defoliated some more this week. She's stacking nicely and really starting to fatten up. It almost looks like the crown structure might start to pop up, but I guess we'll see! She's been so easy to care for!
Did another pretty moderate defoliation this week. Definitely some putrid smells with some zest coming from this plant. The two week flush begins now and I'll chop her down at week 9. Can't wait!
Started flushing this week. 9 weeks is definitely going to be in the earlier stage of the chop-down period, but i think it'll be fine by next week after checking the trichomes. Getting more fat every week, and starting to see a lot more orange pistils!
I definitely harvested a bit early and it’s pretty clear in the high. However, it does put a smile in my face and didn’t ever make me feel bogged down at all.
The high I get is very clear-minded and uplifting. I always seem to get in a better mood, but the high just isn’t as intense as I was hoping. It’s also a pretty short high in comparison to other bud I have. Once again, im pretty sure it’s from my own doing.
If I had waited 1-2 weeks longer, I think this crop would be much closer to perfect. Good thing I have more seeds!!
The flavor and potency are both normal. Nothing too crazy, but the peppery profile that comes out in this bud is really unique smelling.
Really easy to trim! I'm happy with the harvest result, but I know I can get more weight next time if I give the plants more care during the veg state. I kind of messed up early in veg this time around. The smell is a bit zesty and earthy, but not super potent quite yet. I'm hoping it really starts to come out after a bit of curing!
What was the deciding factor harvesting at the end of week 9 or a 10 to 13 week plant? I'm growing this now in week 11 of flower, but I'm not really seeing enough cloudy or dull colored trichomes, so I'm curious how it went for you. Please also rate the high. Thanks!
@trerevilo, I definitely should have waited longer with this one. 9 weeks was a bit early, but didn’t ruin the bud by any means. I’ll post my high update today!
