5-1 New nutrients: 400 ppm ph=5.8 No Florablend this time and I added Calmag, both because of malformed leaves.
5-2 Because of malformed new growth, decided to re-calibrate Ph tester and found PH to actually be 5.1! D'oh! Now I can make sense of the malformations. adjusted to 5.8 using 1 gallon of .5 tsp/gallon. ppm=380
5-3 Spot check PH with 2 meters=5.8 Removed PerfectPH for now. Leaf temp deficit has increased and is now 2-4 degrees cooler than air with no sign of burning. Increased light power to 12k lux. I see the first root escaping net cup (1 inch). Growth rate should explode this week.
5-4 *4th internode, side branches and 1st root presented yesterday (16 days). Changed light intensity back to under 10k. Temp hit 8o yesterday so I added a swamp cooler (need both humidity and cooling right now). It's still too soon to push up vpd because I see these plants over reacting to a small RH drop. After checking leaf temperature (and found very small delta) I decided to lower RH by 5%. At this temperature it seems transpiration slows too much when RH is over 60%. @%50 4-5 degree leaf delta, 55% 2 degrees, 60+% no delta
5-5 Increased light intensity to 18k lux yesterday as an experiment and the plants handled it OK but a little stress was evident, at 15k now. It seems I won't have enough cooling to use the Barrina lights in the warmer seasons.
5-6 *5th internode just visible (18 days). Struggling to keep humidity high while keeping heat low (vent exhaust). VPD is too high occasionally but they are handling it OK for now. PH = 5.8 PPM=380 75F 60% 24 hour average
5-7 LST starts today. RH was in the 40's this morning because humidifier ran out and notification was set to low. They are OK but they didn't like it.
