Almost to flower lighting. Doing a high frequency fertigation. Due to the properties of the growing medium. Made up of pretreated coco coir at about 70%, the rest is perlite. It seems to be difficult to overwater. I found the coco for cannabis website and have been following their recommendations for feeding twice a day. Trying to keep the run off water at 20-30% of what I add to the top of the pot. EC readings comparisons to input values have made watering twice a day with less total water each time. Is the only way to keep my ec measurements within 400 or .400 depending on the meter. Of the input. So I don't want the run off to read higher than 400 micro semens ec reading than the original solution fed to the plant. Going to stick with it. Purple stems are on all the plants. So magnesium is not being absorbed as well or I don't know. Not enough in the nutrients. I'm skeptical to use magnesium sulfate. Very alkaline.

Grow Questions

Cannabingrowinstarted grow question 3 years ago
I am using coco coir and perlite as the medium. I would assume it would only make a difference if it was in the same container as the plants to interact. Or be a fungus, I think most produce at least some amount of CO2. Can I use companion fungus/plants in the same pot?

Mixing companion plants indoors is a bit of an interesting one - nutrient fixing plants are slow to 'fix' nutrients such as Nitrogen., I'd suggest it for outdoors where you arent going to uproot a plant and over turn all the soil and damage the fungus network so much as you would with a 10L pot, companion plants are better for long term relationships. Using a fungus and adding bacteria beneficial to the rhizosphere is your best way if fixing nutrients, if you add companion plants you can see good results but primarily in no till set ups. I use the techniques with companion plants for my veg garden and my tomato plants are about 4 - 5 feet tall, but using them indoor may just prove hassle. You can water beneficial bacteria in as a top dressing so if you're already part way through a g you can still get the benefits and boost your microbial activity massively, the microbes breaking down the organic matter and sending it on to the fungus which essentially expand the rootzone by adding viable nutrient exchange surface area, in turn your plants exchange nutrients and sugars with the fungus and everuthing grows harmoniously. I've decided to use fungus and bacteria in my 2nd indoors grow and I can see the difference already, I wouldn't bother with companion planting. The CO2 from a small amount of companion planting indoors would be negligible, you're better off using the CO2 bags and maybe watering with some low TDS fizzy water, those bubbles are pure CO2.

@spyder,thanks I am for sure already. I am going to transplant them tomorrow from the 1 gallon only Canna Coco coir to 75 ish percent coco and the most of the rest perlite and maybe a top dressing of soil. I don't know why i feel like that is a good idea to add maybe a inch of fox farm ocean forest that has been pre-treated with the rest of the medium, with Canna BioRyzotonic and cal mag, for probably 41 hours. It just felt good in my head at the time. might not and use the medium for another project. Anyways thanks for the support. these girls are going to be wild. ill keep doing what I am with them for a while and use the Horizontal (screen of green i think) trellis again. Any tips on how to go about a more automated system? I have 3/4 inch bulk heads attached to the saucers with a hose like end to catch the run off water from. Just need a hose and a pump I think. Cant seem to find the pump i think i need. a siphoning tool might work like they use in beer brewing situations. Mostly just for catching runoff i want to automate better. I still think manually watering over the top is best for me right now in the setup.
