I've learned some hard lessons from my first two attempts - so hopefully this time is successful now that I'm trying Easy Bud ;) Germinated straight in soil she popped pretty quickly but then shot up and became really leggy. The last two attempts stayed pretty short and grew well initially so I don't think it's a light problem, but anyway I increased my light from 40% to 60% and kept at 24inches. She still seemed to climb so I added more soil (which i moistened first) around the stem to stop her falling over. I'm a bit concerned by her bright green colour but she's still growing so I'll see how it goes - it can't be a deficiency at this stage so I'm thinking it might be the soil is too hot - I'm using Ecothrive living soil which they claim is seed to harvest but i'm still preparing to add nutes at some stage. So far all seems to be going ok just the lumo green and some minor curling on day 6 which i'll keep an eye on. Dialed my environment in with a Inkbird probe for humidity

All looking ok still. Gave 600ml water with root juice and turned light up to 70% but kept at 24inches. I've noticed very slight drooping in the morning vs the evening which is interesting. Also noticed very slight curling of leaves which i saw on the first set but that disappeared so hopefully it's nothing. Maybe some minor heat/light stress? So hard to tell whether she's on track or lagging - looking at some diaries they're on their 3rd set of leaves already. When do people start counting - I started day 1 when she popped out the ground? Also got another fan coming so i can give her more wind - I'll hook it up to a smartplug so I can manage the amount. Upped light schedule to 24 - read all the various comments on this and decided I want to run 24/7 for veg and I'll drop to 20/4 when she's older as I'm travelling for a week early July so hopefully harvest before that. Gave first nutes at super low dose. She's growing well and I'm stoked to be past week 2. Still a bit worried about the lime green mottling but it's not affecting growth so I'll just keep an eye on it. Happy growing!

Hi, I've noticed light green "splotches" on my leaves which I'm having trouble matching with images of leave problems. Doesn't appear to be impacting on growth and the issue is only visible on close-up so it might just be me being over concerned, but I'd be grateful for advice!

They're fine. Don't expect perfection. Your babies be looking good! Getting the leaves wet will cause splotches most commonly.

Hi, Still seeing mottled green on leaves, more visible on the first set. She appears to be growing well but I'm eager to understand whats causing the green mottling so I can head off any problems. I've been comparing with various leaf issues but struggling to find a match?

I would say nothing to worry about. Their babies learning how to be plants. Theres more growing under the soil to be able to provide your plant the nutrients it needs to grow a nice lustrous green leaves. Just go easy on your nutes as soil usually has enough to keep them happy for the first few weeks of her life. Cheers

So far this week all good - gave 1ml CalMag so hopefully that sorts out the yellow mottling. Really started to pick up speed this week - going to move to dial to 90% and keep at 24inches, if she handles i'll increase from there. Stoked to be at week three - wish I knew what was causing the discoloration though. I'll try feed at next water and i'll LST soon as upper leaves are completely blocking light to nodal leaves happy growing folks :)

Started her on Biobizz grow nutes this week and started gentle LST - she's growing low and wide so LST is proving difficult. Day 24: Gave another 1l with 1ml Biobizz grow - realised thats 2ml in the last week so hopefully I've not overfed - bottom nodal leaves were looking a bit yellow though Day 26: looking super happy today - did some tucking yesterday and can't believe the difference it's made overnight! Keeping humidity down is my next challenge - got a dehumidifier outside the tent and the humidifier inside, both on an Inkbird controller. So far the dehumidifier hasn't made an impact. 27: Gave her 1.5l plain water at 6.5pH. 7gal pot takes a lot of water. Also changed light schedule to 20/4 as I think the yellow tips and cupping are likely from too much light. Other than that she's looking good still - hopefully see some flowers soon :) Day 28: second guessing myself -moved back to 24hrs light schedule looking forward to seeing what week 5 brings. Happy growing everyone :)

Hi I've got a problem that I've seen from the start of my grow and it's getting worse on older leaves now - zoom in edges and tips are turning yellow. I thought it was magnesium so I've dosed with Calmag but it's not improved - I'm Ph6.5 - any ideas?

Hi mate, by the way the leaf edges are curling up I would say it is light burn. Maybe lower the intensity of your light or raise it up a few inches till you see improvement. At this stage they don't need full sunlight. around 250 - 400 PAR is perfect. I hope this helps, good luck and happy growing

Day 30: she's growing about an inch overnight - crazy how quickly she's growing compared to the first few weeks. Hopefully start to see flowers soon. Done quite a bit of tucking to expose lower sites. She's also taking more water - about a litre every two days. Watering in 7gal feels pretty "beginner friendly" as it's harder to overwater. The challenge I've got right now is keeping humidity down - the humidifier I've got in the room fills up pretty quickly but doesn't seem to make a difference inside the tent. After every watering the humidity shoots up to 80% at base and around 70% at canopy level. Day 31: dropped light to 19inches Day 32: gave first small dose of flowering nutes so they're in the soil Day 34: really starting to stretch now - grew almost 2inches in 48hrs. Changed light schedule down to 20/4 as leaves are showing signs of light stress (i think). Lots of pistils but nothing that looks like a flower yet - hopefully soon! Day 35: LST and plain water. Got new dehumidifier for inside the tent - will see how well that works.

Day 36: looks like flowers are starting so calling this the first week of flower and started flower nutes Day 37: still struggling to get RH down despite having three moisture absorber things and a dehumidifier. Dehumidifier kicks out a lot of heat s well. Put in a scrog net but not using it yet Day 38: she's still stretching loads - need to move the light up regularly. I'm going to need to make a plan soon as I'm running out of space. regretting not getting a taller tent! Advice to anyone reading this: get the tallest tent you can as filter / fan etc take up loads of room. Day 39: been reading a lot about DLI and by my calculation (using the manufacturers figures and the photon app on my phone) I was barely hitting the 20 Mol needed for good buds. I've dropped the light to 14 inches and what I think is around 400/450 uMol. Calc: 450uMol x 72,000(seconds) = 32.4 Mol / DLI. Apparently between 30-40 is best so we'll see. Bit confused as the number say one thing and the light burn on some leaves was saying another thing! Day 40: na Day 41: light down to 12 inches, 1,5l plain water. Also dropped scrog net down to move flowers closer to the center so they can get the best DLI Day 42: on 18hr light cycle now

Hi, with light height, does it make a difference to the plant if I'm at full brightness and further away vs dimmed and closer? I'm going to start running out of tent space soon so I'm expecting I'll need to dim in late flower. I think it's ok just looking for assurance :)

You are correct in your assumption, it’s the same thing but you loose heat as the light is moved away so it is more efficient to have the light closer and dimmer. You can turn the light a little higher than you think is comfortable and it will reduce your stretching. And you can also reduce your light time if you run out of vertical space to adjust the plants DLI (daily light Intake) same rule hotter light =less time. Happy Growing and I hope that helps!!!

Day 43: 1ml bloom Day 44: Main cola at 24 inches now and I've managed to keep the others pretty even in the center with the scrog net. Light at 10 inches which is lower than manufacturers recommendation but they seem to be happy. Day 45: 2litres, 1ml gow 1ml bloom 1ml topmax Day 46: removed 2 big inwards facing fan leaves Day 47: plain water Day 48: light at 8 inches now. Noticed yellowing on lowest leaves which might be nitrogen so added another 1ml grow this week

Day 51: just got back from a few days away - bottom leaves are turning yellow and it appears to be getting worse. Think it's nitrogen so I've added extra biobizz grow. Day 52: gave 2l 6.5pH water and run-off was at 6.12pH. Next water I'll increase the pH Day 54 gave 2l 2ml bloom Day 55 Leaves yellowing fast and big fan leaves at the bottom already dead - really hope this is normal end game and I've not got a problem. Don't think it's nutrient deficiency as most tips are showing burn. I reckon I've got 2/3 weeks left Day 56 gave some CalMag incase the yellowing is mag deficiency

Hi 8th week of flower. Bottom leaves have turned yellow and died and yellowing is rapidly moving upwards. I think it's nitrogen deficiency so I've added more Biobizz Grow. Would be good to get an expert opinion! Thanks

8th week of flower I would be expecting to start seeing leaves fading away. I wouldn't start adding more of the veg nute. During flower you should be decreasing the nitrogen while increasing the phosphorus and potassium.

Hi, Autoflower in 24th day of flower and still seems to be loads of new white pistils especially on top. Is this normal or is she too close to the light? Wondering as I'm much closer than manufacturers advice but no sign of light burn. Thanks in advance

Cannabis flowers can take anywhere between 6 and 16+ weeks to mature, so you still have a long way to go, with the majority of white pistils being exactly normal for this age/stage of flowering. Hang in there and try not to get too impatient, it will happen, just not overnight! After looking at your diary, I would say you have another 4-6 weeks to go before harvest maturity. Also, try and not do any further defoliation of healthy green leaves, this will just reduce the capacity for your plant to make energy, thereby slowing growth and maturity. You should however, remove any brown/dead leaves from your grow space, these are prime targets for mould and fungus to attack, and this is the last thing you want during flowering! Hope this helps,.......... Organoman.

Super stoked to have gotten this far - all looking good this week. I dropped the light intensity to 70% as colas in the brightest light were getting slightly yellower than others so think it might be light burn starting. Was worried about the amount of white pistils but she's starting to add weight now so all good. Hopefully the next two weeks will see those colas thickening up nicely. I'm happy with my LST and ScrOG as she's got 5 nice looking colas all level and one even rivals the main cola in size Happy growing :)

All looking good still. I've dropped the light intensity to 60% as the leaves directly underneath were definitely getting yellower while the outside lights are a darker green. Funny that the leaves are still all turned up and directed towards the light though. I've upped topmax from 1ml / week to 4ml this week and depending on how things look next week i might start the flush. Temps have been pretty low this week but that might be a good thing at this stage of flower. Senesence is kicking in big time so pulling dead leaves off daily - hoping i can harvest in another week. Only going to give water from here on out

In final week of flower so flushing with plain 6.5pH water. I'd like to give her another week at least but other engagements mean I need to harvest this week. I've decreased the water to 1L every second day and then I'll close up the tent for 48hrs of dark with no water before harvest - hopefully that pushes trichome development a bit further. I've been using the things that absorb water as well as the dehumidifier in the tent - the dehumidifier puts out quite a bit of heat and works pretty slowly but didnt want to put two in. They absorb water slowly - hard to tell how much they're dropping humidity though. I'm opting for an early harvest with a proper cure rather than a very later harvest where she'll have degraded. Super stoked to be so close to my first harvest - and massive thanks to the advice and help on this forum! Looking at the other diaries has been a huge help for a noob like me, so hopefully others will get some value from my diary as well. Already planning my next grow which should be much easier with all I've learned!

Trichomes are all cloudy but not seen any turning amber yet. I've turned the light off now so she's half way into her 48hrs of darkness and then harvest. Will be interesting to see if there is actually a noticeable increase in trichome production because of the dark spell. I've kept watering light so the soil is almost bone dry now going into harvest. By the time I harvest it will be 81 days from seed to harvest, with just over 6 weeks of that in flower stage.

Super easy strain to grow - I tried two other strains without success before trying easy bud, although to be fair, with what I've learned now I reckon I'd be ok with those strains now. She grew higher than expected but she handled being close to the lights. I was also experimenting with diff light schedules and she managed it all. 68 grams after drying for 8 days so I'm super happy with the results!
