So this is my first ever grow. It's a bagseed grow.
I'm using only 3 CFLs right now (32 watt each) for a total of about 100 watts. I can't get any more right now but I probably will get another 2-3.
I'm not using any nutrients either. I need to get a bigger pot and transplant it in a few days.
I water the plant every time the soil gets dry, about every day and a half.
Okay. I don't have any idea about watering plants.
I know that you should water until you see 10% runoff, but what if the plant is small?
What if it's in a bigger pot than it's size? How do I water small containers? Because saturating a solo cup seems too much IMO.

Hi there! I always water about 20% of the container size, so if growing in 10L pots, I will water with 2L. This usually gives me a little runoff so I can check the output EC/PPM/PH. I'll be around, keep us up-to-date and good luck with these babies!

Its a good rule to go by once the plant has enough leaves to start photosynthesis at a quicker rate (more sets of leaves). But so early on, definitely not.. The roots are no where near the bottom of the pot so saturating at this stage is unnecessary. Yeah give it some water, and water evenly.. But little by little, its always easier to give some and go back and give it more right? -On the other hand, if you give it too much.. you can't take it away.
So that being said, make sure your girl is in a well ventilated area.. let her dry out before you next water, and do as I said with little waterings until she is a bit bigger, trust me she will thank you for doing that. It's what I do and my plants prosper, (can have a look at my diaries). Hope this give you a better idea and if you want a more in depth answer don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck mate!
Solo cup (16 oz, 500 cc) are ideal for starting seeds. Over watering is the main reason we learn to transplant, so we don't use a too big of a pot, resulting in watering too much.
Ideally after watering, the container should hold enough water for the plant for a period of 4 days to 7 days. If it takes longer than that, then the container is too big, if it takes less than that, then it's time to transplant.
When transplanting you should use a pot, more or less, 4 times bigger than the one you are using. I personally go from 500 cc, to 2 liters, to 11 liters.
If you are using a bigger pot, you then water just the soil under the plant, not the whole pot.
The following chart is the daily water intake for my plants, according to my temperatures, and how long it takes for the pot to feel dry after completely saturating them.

You don't need to transplant yet, I transplanted my first crop way too early and it took them forever to recover. Plus if the soil doesn't stay together you end up shredding all the new delicate roots like i did

when the bean is very young its fragile, yes its important to make sure there is enough o2 available for the roots making h2o better distributed , so try to water feed only, pour your liquid solution in a bucket first then put the bean and pot in the bucket to soak as much it wants.
if you already have made the mistake of getting the soil stiff/hard you can try very carefully to poke some holes like a chop stick into the soil to loosen slightly, beware roots, avoid direct contact
