White Widow x Big Bud is a very hearty strain that can produce some impressive results. Taste and smell updates coming shortly soon as we dry and cure. Check out our harvest Video here: https://youtu.be/xBFVZ6fE0-k
Wow dude what an excellent looking harvest. Strong work! I grew White Widow Max and if yours is anything like that it is definitely one of my favorite smokes. Congrats!
I was wondering if you could talk about your drying/curing process at all? I really like the drying tote idea.
@Grimbol, thanks man really appreciate it. I live in a low humidity climate so drying is pretty tough. I needed something that I could hold humidity in essentially to slowly dry my buds so I came up with this tote idea. I drop a humidity monitor in the bottom and I just essentially check it morning and night and see what humidity levels were. If they got up to 60-70% I would open the lid about 6". As humidity dropped down towards 40%-50% I would close it down just a little more say 2-3" open. Continued this cycle till I no longer reached that 60-70% humidity level. I dried for 1 week and I prob could have dried 2-3 more days. Once the tote stabilized around 45% humidity I jarred them up at this point they were slightly crispy on the outside. Any time humidity in jars hits 71% pull buds out completely for 30 mins. Once you stabilize at 70% or less inside jars curing can begin. Essentially every 12 hours you open your jars for 1 to 10 minutes to circulate fresh air. Soon your humidity will Ready 69%, then 68% etc. The slower the better result. Continue this for 2-3 weeks until you reach 55% humidity. Now it should be smokeable and enjoyable. Longer term storage is now safe and curing will continue in jars till humidity drops below 50%. Once below 50% curing can not and will not ever occur again. Hope that's helps man.
Great diary man, going to be doing a RQS White Widow grow after my first and your diary is giving me a lot if confidence. I like that as well as using Coco, you also used the same type of nutrients I will be using though I'll be using BioNova (A+B, PK). New to this but the amount of nutrients I see people use makes my head spin. I'm also planning on using an LED, albeit a 600w lamp instead so hoping the extra power can really help them kick on. Will be referring back to this diary often when the time comes.
How was the smoke in the end?
great job man, i am just checking your videos on youtube over the mainline topic, fabolous work as well.. would you maybe like to join our group chat? =)
