Whelp, I lost quite a few of these already to some caterpillar leaf cutter. I was really surprised when I opened the container and saw the tops missing from so many. It was perplexing because I couldn't see how a rabbit or something would get in there and the tomato plants were completely untouched but as I investigated, I found the 2 sleeping caterpillars in 2 of the cowpots. I started germinating 6 more, pennywise x ubermale and black banana punch. I am going to be keeping them inside for a bit longer and transplant them as they grow and when they grow out of their 1 gallon pot, they'll go outside.
I'm still growing these of course, but haven't checked on them since it got down to the low 40s. Hopefully burying them a bit and using the plastic cover helped!
I know they're all weird and ugly, but I don't really mind right now. They'll be stunted for a bit but since they'll be growing outside for the next 5 months, I'm not too concerned...as long as they live lol.
Weird question but do males smell differently than females (at least maybe when they're young?) It could've been something else, but I picked up one of these and did the ol' scratch and sniff on the leaf and it just smelled weird lol
nope they smell the same lol I only know this cause there is a hemp field near my property and A whole field of male hemp plants when they a re releasing pollen they can smell a bit veggy but thats all ive noticed lol
