First grow. Soaked for ~24hr, then placed into paper towels. Only 1 sank by itself, the other two did after poking. Popped in paper towels after less than a day at 79°. Into the coco they go.
That last seed finally sprouted almost a week after the others. It looks like the first two to sprout are responding well to their first feeding following cocoforcannabis.com's nutrient schedule.
Nitrogen toxicity! I think. I was a little too eager with the nutes. I slowly switched back to the seedling mix and will go back to the early veg mix when the third node is more established.
The plants look like they're bouncing back well. So well that I FIMmed the heartier one at the 5th node. I've been debating whether I should do any HST. My decision was made when I noticed out of all of the Christmas tree promotional pictures on the FastBuds website, Smoothie Auto's was topped. Hopefully I didn't do it to late too late in it's life cycle. I've also been ponytailing both for several hours a day hoping to promote branching.
These plants are getting really bushy. Smoothie 1 has almost taken over its pot and is showing pre flowers, so I switched to transitioning nutrients. I have begun increasing my light's intensity and removing any leaves that were damaged by the FIM, growing towards the stem, or blocking prime branches.
I super cropped all 8 branches and tied them so that they didn't cover each other up. They're still bushy as ever and look like they perked right back up. I think the stretch has started. Smoothie 2 is catching up to 1 in size, but it still has apical dominance.
Smoothie 1 overcame me super cropping everything in sight and is looking great. Smoothie 2 is growing well but is in constant need of defoliation because it's so bushy.
Switched to early bloom nutrients. I super cropped and LSTed the main stem and 2 highest branches on Smoothie 2. The plants aren't looking so bushy now that I've cleaned up a lot of growth under the canopy. That also let me get some good pics of the super crop knuckles on Smoothie 1. Woof.
Smoothie 1 is also drinking a lot more than Smoothie 2. Purple flowers to match the purple pistils. I hope the trichomes don't go purple so I can use them to indicate when to harvest. That would look pretty cool though.
Smoothie 2 perked back up from the super cropping and Smoothie 1's flowers are getting thicker. The humidity is getting way too high during lights off. Almost 80%. I defoliated even more under the canopy to try and increase airflow. I won't have much larf, but I wouldn't risk it for mold.
Somebody suggested I not water my plants to help keep the humidity down. I tried it for a day, and the plants hated it. It took a couple days to get the ppm back into check. Smoothie 2 is starting to show it's flowers while Smoothie 1's are getting thicker.
I was waiting until some of the pistils went orange to start checking trichomes. Checking them on a whim revealed that Smoothie 1 was past ready and Smoothie 1 only had a couple amber heads. I'm going to have to harvest because I'd rather have Smoothie 1 closer to ideal than Smoothie 2. 2's flowers could have stood to thicken up, but oh well. I need the tent to dry in. Chopped on day 70, 7/10 after a little less than 24hrs dark.
