Welp, I did think that she'd green up, but it's beginning to look like this really might be a genetic mutation. Apart from the pale yellow green colour over the entire plant from day one to today, everything else is normal. The form, the strength, the development and the overall growth. This plant could be topped now, and normally I would top this at the fourth node in a couple more days, but I think I'll let her grow out, normally, for a change.
I'm thinking that if there was some problem causing this then she would be growing so strongly. Anyhooo, should be interesting later on when the purple colours start to manifest. It's difficult to tell how pale she is but you can see from the close up of the leaves that there is an even pale green mottling if you look at the darkest parts of that mottling that would still be much lighter than a normal leaf.
EDIT: added final photo, where I took an undergrowth baby leaf that is not in the light from a mature plant so it's a pretty light green, about as light as you'd want to see any plant, this gives a better idea of how pale this blackberry is.
@DoDrugs420, lol, she must have god on her side because every time grow her I vow to not grow her again but she keeps pulling me in, the trichomes are spread out far, the stem of the flowers is too meaty, she doesn't have much character in flavour apart from some mild sweet fruitiness, and yet I keep being drawn in to her, I feel she has more to reveal that I cannot unlock. I have one more bean left, but she's at the back of the queue at the moment.
@@BeachGrower, yes when scanning with a loupe overall there appears to be less trichomes per area than other plants I normally see, however once dry the trichome density appears to be pretty normal. She is a challenge to grow mainly because she's very unpredictable. Last one the buds were fairly loose, this one they are fairly tight. She is not a plant on my 'desert island' list. I see her more as an ornamental plant, after my monster purple gorilla, i needed something simple.
@Lookingforsomethingz, interesting. All the ones I've grown have behaved very differently. I guess by the end of next week is going to know if this is going to grow out. I shall not be altering the nutrients at all except to rebalance the pH if needed.
