RadDad Blueberry is on her way and doing well. I've moved her from the propagation area to the grow tent so hopefully the better conditions will get her growing big and strong. One more week and I will transfer her to her final pot.

RadDad 😎 This week I successfully transplanted Blueberry to her forever home, which is a 5 gal. Lumo-X fabric pot filled with good old potting soil. Once in her new pot I gave her 500ml water with Dutch Science's Seed and Root formula. She looks healthy and strong but still very young. I'm really keeping an eye on my light levels because i'm trying to avoid stretching. Controlling stretching was one of the bigger mistakes I first made during my first ever grow last summer. So far everyone seems happy in the tent despite have 3 different plants at 3 different stages of growth. Grow strong little one we have lots of training to do 💪.

RadDad Week 3 and we exit the seedling stage. Blueberry is doing very well in her new 5 gal home. A Lesson I learned earlier this season is to really watch your watering if you have a small plant in a large pot. I found the best way to avoid over watering is to just water around the plant rather than trying to wet the whole soil. At this point shes not very thirsty so still only getting 500ml/24. Ooooohhh I also have a DS/EC meter coming tomorrow so next weeks update will have a few more deets. I thought Blu looked a little lonely in her giant pot so I gave her little a friend. Since we're kicking off the veg period this week it's time to switch to Grow Girls Grow by Dutch Science Nutrients. Not starting any training yet since my plan is main-line this one and I need like 8 nodes to start that process. Still lots of growing to do before she gets topped. I've been doing some reading and I've grown concerned about the strength of the grow light in my tent. My last grow resulted in a pretty trash harvest. My current lights is just a cheap no name from Amazon my new light from Mars Hydro, should be here sometime this weekend then we can take things to the next level. Until next week Be rad to each other.

I have access to both this summer and was wondering what advantages/disadvantages one had over the other?

It depends on your tap water. My water comes from a well and has some magnesium and calcium so it's actually better then rainwater since I don't need to add calmag. If you have city water I'd say rainwater is better. The tap water from my local town has a very high pH and chlorine & chloramines.

RadDad Manifold week 4 update. Morning all, Okay lets get the bad stuff out of the way. I think I'm having issues with my soil PH. My Northen Lights x Big Bid Auto has turned a shade of bright green but our girl Blu has some odd colouring in leaves so think the PH of little Blu may be out of wack as well. I've got a new PH meter coming today so I should be able to get a better picture of the problem. I'm hoping it's a minor issue and can be resolved with some neutral watering. Alright on to the manifold. We're up to three nodes :) three more to go. I'm following Nebula Haze's manifold technique so I will need 6 nodes before I top our girl back to the third. So far I don't see any signs of stretching and shes enjoying the new Mars Hydro light. Shes in the tent with her sisters now so loneliness isn't a problem anymore. This week we're going to give a little extra water to flush the soil and start monitoring PH and TDS more closely with my new meters. Still a long way to go. Happy Growing yall.

RadDad Happy birthday Blu 🎉🎈 you are 5 weeks today. If feels like shes growing a little on the slow side and showing some odd colouring. Last week I mentioned PH and TDS issues as a possibility and it looks like that may be the case. I've spent the last week trying to get my soil back in balance and with some PH Up and PH Down I got by Standard Hydroponics I think I'm on the right track. Node count: 4 with 5th coming in. If anyone has any feedback on size or colour I'd love to hear it. I thought a photoperiod would be taller at this point. Anyway continuing on this week with Dutch Science Nutrients' Grow Girls Grow and monitoring PH and TDS much more closely.

RadDad I've let our girl blue grow for an extra week and I think our base is looking really strong. It's time for topping to creat the base of our manifold. To do this were going to use he Nebula's Manifold technique by Nubula Haze from GrowWeedEasy.com. I'm in no way affiliated with the site or Mrs. Haze but I have found her website to be a great place to start my cannabis growing journey. I've done so much more research now but it did start for me back in 2020 at GrowWeedEasy.com Anyway I've got some video that will explain the method as I top the plant but basically what we're going to top down to the 3rd node and then clean all the extra growth off. This should leave only two growth tips and their fan leaves. Check out the photos and videos for more details. Feeding and light schedules continue as normal.

RadDad Hey all, Its been a few weeks so lets take a peak at our Blueberry manifold. Last time we topped our girl down to the 3rd node and removed all other growth except the two growth tip and their fan leaves. Over the past two weeks shes continued to grow an addition four pairs of leaves on each arm. This wee we will cut those branches back to the 3rd node and then clean all other growth from the plant except what remains on the 1st and 3rd node of each side. This should give us 8 main colas that will grow up from these eight remaining growth tips. Continuing to feed as normal while trying to get the soil PH up to a proper level.

RadDad Nitrogen toxicity. Nitrogen toxicity is apparently the culprit for the sluggish growth weird colouring and hooked leaves. So I have suspended all feeding for now just regular water until she gets better and I can already see some results. This plant seems a bit more picky than the others so I will just have to watch her more closely but for now it's just plain water. All of our tipping is now complete as we have split the manifold into 8 colas. Now we're just going to concentrate on getting her strong before we flip to flower but I think that's still 3 to 4 weeks away.

RadDad So far this week the color has improved a little bit but I think the proper amount of magnesium is still locked out due to low soil pH. I think I got the nitrogen toxicity under control though. Still just continuing to water and using baking soda to bring the soil PH up to above 6.2. I also took the time to repot into a smaller pot so I could more closely manage the water runoff which I think has been a big help.

RadDad All right Ive got no clue. This plant is 12 weeks old and smaller than my plants that are 3. I pulled her up and washed the roots I replanted in a whole new 1 gallon pot of living soil. If this doesn't get her growing I have no idea what will.
